Casa Barqueiro

"A family-owned restaurant with the perfect blend of talent, friendliness and professionalism. It features a busy wine bar, with a few tables for tapas, an impeccable dining room adorned with a beautiful mural of the bucolic Maceira bridge, as well as a spectacular glass-fronted wine cellar that fills one side of the room. In the kitchen, the focus is on honest and traditional Galician cuisine which stands out for the quality of its meats and its reasonable prices. Whatever you do, don’t miss the magnificent stone-cooked T-bone steak!" - Michelin Inspector

Every dish was delicious and served timely. We also met a few people there that were doing the Camino walk and we had lots of fun getting to know their journey.

As i was recommended by a worker in a fuel station nearby, i walked into the restaurant with my friend's family of 9 members including ladies and kids we were treated well, it was a nice service as well as the food was excellent The quantity was more than enough for the " paella " we ordered ( 4 was enough for 6 ) rest of all we ordered were also excellent

The wine, delicious. The Galician octopus, authentic and flavorful. The Tarta de queso, to die for and wonderfully homemade. After many kilometers of walking El Camino, this is the place to reward yourself with a good meal and wine. Slightly more expensive than your average Galician restaurant but oh so worth it

Be prepared. Very delicious food. The restaurant was fully booked when we tried to make a reservation but we walked in and they welcomed us. Ordered salad, octopus and “secreto “ pork - everything was perfect. The octopus was to die for, pls order it and thank me later. After 20 km walk today it was a real reward. We were sat in the front area, not in the fancy one. Love it.

Food vs. Service Recommended by our host and an expensive but delicious restaurant. Indeed, the food was great (the traditional chuléton) and, as expected, it was expensive (the meat is charged by kilo and we paid for 1,4 kg - because you also pay for the bone and fat) and we were not able to eat it all, which proves the portion was too big. But that was not the worst part of the experience. The owner of the place was not friendly or helpful. His employees, however, tried to compensate that. The meat was grilled by ourselves on a hot stone and with delicious sea salt flakes, the wine was good and the cheese tart for desert was very good too. I recommend it, with reservations.

Great food, extremely arrogant service. "The smile" is an unknown phenomenon at this place. Better go somewhere else where they appreciate your presence, unless your are craving for an excellent piece of meat..

Yelp
Place is fantastic just got that vibe. I only stopped in for a few caña's and the arcón fed Ibérico ham. But the service is fantastic. The vibe is immaculate great lunch as I am walking towards "The end of the world". Buen Camino everyone

Yelp
This is by far my favorite restaurant in any part of the world! When traveling to Spain it's my first and last stop. If you are looking for the very best food in Spain no need to look any further, this is the place to go...you won't be disappointed.
