I don’t know where to start. Everything about this place is simply amazing. From the moment you enter until the moment you go out, everyone and everything at this place make you feel super welcome and comfortable. The staff are amazing and very professional at what they do. The food was just great! I had the tastiest meat ever here, which was prepared right at our table on a hot stone. The whole experience was very pleasant and i can’t recommend this place enough to everyone. Just make sure to reserve a table in advance.

I’m not sure what it was but we both got really sick after eating at this restaurant. The bread was great, the shrimp still had a lot of dirt sack in them, the grilled meat was good, lots of them big portions! And the fish was alright. I’m not sure maybe we didn’t order the right things, but the food poisoning might have come from the dirt sacks of the shrimps. ** in response to the owner - I think it’s very difficult to find the exact root cause of food poisoning. But two people that got sick right after a mean was enough proof for us. Thanks.

We had a very nice evening at restaurante casal de Penha. Some of the dishes deserve 5 stars but some are just good enough. Service and atmosphere was excellent and staff very friendly. Our thoughts on the food? We started with a mixed salad and traditional garlic bread. You can’t go wrong with these options, fresh and high quality ingredients. Lots of other delicious options and more special starters available that we can try next time. For main we had fish of the day (sea bass) and tuna steak. Fish of the day was delicious and so fresh, cooked to perfection on the grill. Tuna steak had a delicious sauce but the tuna was slightly overcooked. The vegetables and potatoes on the side were ok, a little disappointed so the restaurant could try better on those. For dessert we had the chocolate sublime and crepe suzette. The crepe was the best thing ever, made in front of us and would highly recommend you try this! The chocolate dessert also very good. Overall a great dinner finished off with a complimentary glass of madeira wine. We will be coming back. Thank you for your hospitality!

Everything was great. I stayed at Madeira for 5 days and this place was my top pick. Servers were friendly food was great and the portion was generous. Terrace had a nice view of the ocean. Must visit while you’re in Madeira. Try their seafoods.

Great dining experience. The food is well prepared, with good ingredients. Very good value for money. We had a table on the terrace and we enjoyed a nice view with a lovely breeze. I recommend the filets, the meat is really soft and tasty.

Very popular place. We got lucky to get table for two+baby without reservation. Place was fully booked so make sure to have reservation. Service was friendly and they got babychair for our little one. Offered to make some food for baby aswell, that was nice touch! Liked the food (meat) and garlic bread was amazing. Athmosphere was cosy.

The food and service were both incredible. Highly recommend the Piri Piri Calamari as an appetizer (perfectly spicy and flavorful) and the Octopus or Bacalhau as a main. Worth the price.
