Superb meal. Stumbled on this place walking into town from the hotel. Staff were fabulous and the food was excellent. Beef in Madeira wine sauce was succulent, tasty soup, wonderful garlic bread and chicken in mushroom sauce was delicious. Excellent selection of sides with the mains - potatoes, sweet potatoes, maize and steamed veg. Lovely house red as well. Very generous portions and great value. The restaurant has various areas (inside and outside) with an excellent choice of background music. Recommend booking as we got a table because we were early and there were a lot of phone calls booking tables in advance. Will definitely be back.

A very pleasant surprise in Funchal. Everything was excellent – the garlic bread, the prawns, the seafood pasta, and the sea bass. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is also very charming – we sat on the terrace, surrounded by flowers. I recommend booking in advance, especially if you want to have dinner after 7 PM.

Fantastic location near many other sights and restaurants. The tuna belly was fileted and cooked just right, much better than the other tuna steaks I had in the past. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Would recommend reservations since it is quite full otherwise.

Our first meal in Madeira and maybe one of our best. Their Bib Gourmand and terrace make it a popular place. But it is justified as the food is tasty and the staff very friendly. Their garlic bread (specialty of Madeira) was the best we had all week. They also offered us a complimentary liquor at the end of the meal which is a nice gesture. Food is a little pricier than elsewhere and we thought that 22€ for the prawn starter was a bit much but the mains were fairly priced. We spent 86€ for two without drinks. I recommend you book even though we got lucky without one but were sat inside.

A lovely place with very friendly staff and heavenly delicious food. The prices are totally fine for the quality you get. We work on a cruise ship and whenever we stop at Funchal, we go there. Table reservation recommended. For us one of the best places. Thank you to the amazing staff for making us happy 🤗

I visited here with my parents at first and visited with my husband again in a few days. The manager was very kind to accommodate my 2nd visit as my husband was sick on the first visit with my parents. The foods were delicious and very much home comfort food. I felt so much love from their foods as well as all the staffs here. Highly recommended!

Came here for a late lunch. Wasn't too busy. I ordered the grilled octopus 🐙 for lunch. It's my go to dish when in Europe and near a body of water. You get a lot of food for the price point. So you won't leave hungry. However, the meal was just ok. The smaller pieces of octopus were grilled almost perfectly with a little burned marks here and there. The two bigger pieces were over grilled and chewy. Not as tasty. You get potatoes 3 ways on the dish. I'd prefer less sides and more of the fried potatoes. Just less sides overall and perfectly grilled octopus 🐙 would go a long way to making this a better dish. Maybe even some Madeira style sauces for the boiled potatoes would be fun.

We had to wait for a week to get a reservation, and considered cancelling a couple of times but so glad we didn’t. The staff are the nicest, the food is sooo fresh and absolutely delicious, and very reasonable prices. And we got the best table. And even a little Madeira wine to finish. We will be back ❣️
