Overrated, overpriced, and overall awful. Food was disappointing in taste, texture and temperature. Also the chairs were wobbly, I felt like they were on the brink of breaking.

Food was great, service was awesome.

Had the rudest waitress ever, I wanted to leave to oírle food was brought out to us and I did not want for it to go to waste. They never checked if we wanted something eles, to get our drinks we had to be reaped more then 3 times they had already told me this place was not it but I wanted to give it a chance lesson learned never going here again and if you are looking for honest reviews let me tell you please believe this comments and TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELES PLEASE.

Best Chinese restaurant in Mexicali. The food came out hot (still microwaved but a better microwave than other restaurants), the service was great, and the seating was comfortable in a crowded place. The taste is not authentic Chinese. It is cater to the Mexican's taste, so if you are looking for "real" Chinese food, there is none in Mexico. The only thing they need is a big parking lot because if you worry about your car, it will definitely get scratched due to the tight spaces.

This is a very good popular restaurant in Mexicali. Very big and popular. The food is good and they are good in quantity. Must recommend.

If there were negative stars, I would. I'll keep it simple. We sat down; they didn't give us any menus, took no drink orders at all or offered even water. We only saw the waitress once, when she sat us down. Same waitress sat 2 tables after us. They got there drinks and gave their orders. Same waitress walked by us 6 times, looked at us and as soon as someone saw her she turned her attention elsewhere. And yes, while everyone else had already gotten there drinks, we still didn't have our menus lol. FYI, we are dark skin Mexicans. I don't think all the workers are racist, but some surely are. After 25 minutes we stood up and went across the street to Pampas.

I'm definitely very disappointed. We asked for chow mein, and they brought us "SOPA DE VASO" (Maru-CHAN type soups)... and it actually tasted as sopas de vaso. Just look at the picture. Definitely, I will never come back there.

Amazing Chinese food. Great price we ordered the #3 combo for 2 people and had lots of food left over. Highly recommended.

The food is absolutely flavorful. Service is humbling, and ambiance is unique. The portion is enough for two, which is why we keep coming back.

The Chow Mein was actually under-cooked Ramen. Beef Broccoli was hard. So was Orange Chicken. The Eggrolls, Chop Suey, Wonton Soup & Cantonese Rice were all pretty good, especially the soup... Beautiful place & good service, but not impressed with the food, overall...

1st time here. It was a Saturday evening. We where seated as soon as we walked in. All the staff was vey friendly. Our order came it quick. It's was very tasty. The tea was very delicious! Only bad thing is once they serve you, tour waiter never returns to check on you.

I had just about the entire menu at this place, and I can vouch it was all rather tasty. Not necessarily fresh, but good tasting. Apparently, there is a sizable Chinese population in Mexicali, giving some apparent authenticity to the cuisine. The servers are definitely all Mexican, but the kitchen staff - regardless of ethnicity - knows what it's doing. There is nothing fancy about the decor. The bright lights are enough to blind you and leave no room for interpreting the contents of the food as it comes to your table. You can park across the street in the lot.

I've been coming to THIS location since I was 9 years old! I'm from LA but ever time I am I'm Mexicali I have to stop by for a meal! I've been referring all my people here simply because the food is just so flavorful, comes out very quickly, and serve up generously LARGE portions! Today, I brought my bf for his first time and he was blown away! We recommend the Chop Suey w shrimp, chow mein, orange chicken, white rice, and cebollitas! I am a vegan and I ordered the chop suey which tasted very light and delicious! A few tips: **The food comes out very quick, BUT the waiters take their time to check back in/provide the tan once the food has been brought out. **you MUST order the limonada fresca! **they have a separate parking lot **they provide complimentary almond cookies after your meal so make room for those because they are very tasty and have a "melt in your mouth" texture! **Overall, very filling! We ordered the half portions and still had so much leftovers! The four stars is only because we had to flag down three waiters for our check after waiting 20 minutes. But the owner and hosts were very nice!

Nice place to bring the family. Even a large family. Service and food are great. And there are hundreds oa Chinese places in Mexicali.

I had been coming here for years. It was always great. We stopped coming here after food quality went down. Mainly freshness. I usually order breaded shrimp. After a couple of my lasts visits I noticed the shrimp was just warm. Never hot. We stopped coming here but a couple of days ago I decided to try it again because my new go to place was closed due to Covid. They took our temperature and sat us. I will say that there was a lot of people inside and I highly doubt we were six feet away from others. We ordered a typical meal with fried rice, chop suey, broccoli beef, chicken etc. The chicken was like a fried chicken but it was literally all bone. The meat that was on it was dry. Basically fried and breaded chicken bone. The shrimp was luke warm again. Rest of the Food was ok. Nothing out of this world but also not the best. I gave this place a shot and same results after not visiting for a couple of years. I say do some research and go elsewhere. There are lots of options but this place is definitely overrated. It has a loyal following but the food doesn't meet expectation.

Been going here for years with my family. I love coming here. The food is usually 10/10. The reason I give it 4 stars is because of the parking lot. It's very small and sometimes you have to wait until someone leaves to take a spot. The amount of people who come eat here, they should at least have a bigger lot. The street is usually packed as well and some houses have signs that say to not park. So I will not risk that. My fave items on the menu are usually the pineapple chicken, the egg rolls & the calamari w/ asparagus. Doubt the calamari is real but I'm not gonna complain. Also the black tea is so good.

Huge open high ceiling place. Food was on point and cooked up fast. Beer was ice cold as well as the lemonade. Will definitely be back very soon. Entrance is to the back of the parking not in the front, you can also enter from the side. But overall Service was great highly recommend this place... update I had to update after reading some of the sd reviews plz don't order food you would normally order in sd, example orange chicken lol. Try fried duck or bbq pork for example. Trust me mexicali Chinese food isn't none for orange chicken and shrimp lol. If you want shrimp go to a seafood place and don't be surprised when the juice isn't clear

This place has decent Chinese food and great service. They serve family style and the prices are great. Love that the place is clean and is always packed. I heard that about 40% of mexicalis population is Chinese or Asian and you will find plenty of chinese food in this city. China house is well known and recommended by locals.

I love this Chinese food. Food was very yummy we ordered 6different dishes and they all were just flavorful. Best Chinese food I have had.

First time in Mexicali and most of our friends from TJ said you gotta try Chinese food while in Mexicali. Yelp usually gets it right but this time hate to say it was below average. The place was packed on a Saturday night so that was a good sign and we were immediately seated. Good start. That's unfortunately where the praise ends. It took forever for someone to come to our table and take our order. We ordered orange chicken, special fried rice and filet kung pao. It was good, not great. The orange chicken had bones, tendons, etc which I've never encountered eating that dish before. There was a hair in the rice. Even despite all that, normally I'd let it go, but after reading reviews on how tasty the food was, I guess I was expecting more. Just an average place at best. Nothing amazingly tasty about any dish. Word to the wise, the portions are HUGE and we ordered a half size so come hungry or order less than you think you'll need.

So why go to Mexicali, Mexico? For the Chinese food of course. The food was very good. It was a mixture of Mexican and Chinese. Waiter was great and made sure we did not over order. There was a meal that included numerous dishes. But he recommended getting the meal for 3 people although we were 5. He was right. Plenty of good. Everything was excellent except the pork which was a bit cold. Do have to give it 5 Stars considering the atmosphere and price.

No matter what I say here, this restaurant will continue to succeed and thrive and be really ridiculously busy at 3pm on a Sunday. Like to the point of creating traffic on the roads for an entire block radius busy. Like people spilling out the door and pushing each other just to get a glimpse of the inside busy. We arrived at 2, which was luckily just ahead of the crowd, and were seated near a window in the back and presented with huge illustrated menus full of what looked to my untrained eye like fancy Americanized Chinese food. I'd been told, though, and read articles to the same effect, that this was MEXICANIZED Chinese food and thus wholly different! I don't know. My salt-pepper squid and asparagus was nicely fried and tenderly textured (both things - the squid and the asparagus) and was an addictive dish, with the tiny pieces so easy to pop into my mouth - but eventually the salt just took over and the whole thing ended up giving me a headache. The free cookies at the end are lifesavers, since they soak up all the oil and salt. They're shaped like sugar cookies but taste just like fortune cookies! Maybe my palate isn't sophisticated enough to detect a difference between a Mexican-Cantonese fusion and an American-Cantonese fusion, but my dish and my companion's tofu-mushroom-in-brown-sauce dish just seemed like things we could get at any old school Cantonese restaurant that's been around for decades and is used to serving Americans who don't want to get too outside their comfort zones. I fully recognize that trying two dishes on a hundred-item menu is not enough fodder to make this claim, however.

This place was supposed to be a great experience since it was highly recommended. Visiting from Texas. The food was not good. They use RAMEN(dry pack) instead of actual proper noodles for the Chow mien. The chicken seemed un cooked. The waiter/manager was very rude. Took half of people at table order then left. The guy was rude when took second part of order. Not only that but when we ordered a refill on drinks brought the wrong one and took forever to exchange.(which another waiter had to do) When he was told we were not happy with the food, started getting upset and increasing voice level. We left before we got confrontational. The only ok thing was the pineapple chicken. Will never go back.

Horrible place to go.... Bad taste and service we found hairs in our food and at the restroom one of the workers was cutting her nails and left with out washing the hands.

I'm partial to Chinese food Cantonese style . The Mexicali style is made for the mexican . Which is spicy. Salty and Sweet not for my taste . The service was attentive and fast . I you come here come hungry because the portions are huge and the prices are a value . My honest opinions are from my San Gabriel Valley restaurants where you can have the best Chinese food outside of China from different provinces that's why a ding .

When we walked in to this restaurant we were stunned. Two of the waiters were having a fist fight! It lasted about 2 minutes as we were getting seated, so we had lunch and a show. Our waitress was excellent, she prepared us some sweet tea that was delicious and was a great distraction from the action at the beginning of the visit. The food was incredible! I would recommend the combination plates, which can feed 3-4 people. I went with both of my parents. We had a 6 course meal: Egg foo young Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice, Ramen with veggies, Sweet and sour pork, orange chicken, grilled chicken and a side order of grilled duck for $40. After your meal they will bring you almond cookies which is a nice touch considering they tasted home made. Not the cookie cutter factory ones, because they were all uniquely browned. To have basically 2 meals (with the amount we brought home) for $40 I think it was a steal!

Food I ordered: Chow Mein with Veggies Kun Pao Chicken The Chow Mein was okay, it was previously mentioned that they use dry ramen noodles and it tasted as if they were dry ramen noodles that was disappointing. The veggies in the Chow Mein were very tasty making up for the noodles. The Kun Pao Chicken was tasty and spicy. Overall, the half portion size was a lot of food for 2 people. I have this place 4 stars because the chow mein noodles were not what I expected.

This place is very good wish the tables were wider since the plates take all the space. Food is really good.

The food is good but the horrible service never checked on us, had to ask for things that are supposed to be brought without even asking and at the end we where really confused about the pricing and where treated really bad by our server it was a guy with glasses. Really disappointed came from San Diego for it to be treated like that.

Pretty good tasting food! Beef chow fun is surprisingly tastier than it looks! Decent service but Sunday afternoon gets really busy!

Great Chinese food in a lively atmosphere that's good for families. Many families seem to know how good it is here because it was packed! We had orange chicken, pork fried rice, Chinese broccoli, and pan fried chicken noodles. All told it was about $30 US. But we walked out with enough leftovers for another lunch and breakfast. (Scrambled eggs mixed with the fried rice) We didn't speak Spanish, but that was no problem as they had people there who spoke English well enough to get our order right and help us figure out what we wanted. I'd say it was better value than nearly any place we'd been in LA. Just short of being good enough to make a trip from LA especially for Chinese food. Oh! And they had valet parking across the street. I tipped two bucks. Not sure if that was good, but he wasn't unhappy.

Best Food and Service, it's a must. We try to go once a month, we are treated like family. We have been going here for about 10 years now and it never disappoints us!

This is one of two places where my family and I usually go for Chinese food when we're all in Mexicali. I'm not sure if it's the food or the emotional connection of memories with family here or both, but I love this place. Everything I've had is great here.

Ok. What did you do to the shrimp in the special #4.? Because It was just absolutely perfect. My wife and I detect a hint of rosemary in the shrimp. Do you throw rosemary on the charcoal and give it a smoky flavor? Anyway, everything was really good here. We will be back for sure.

People brag that Mexicali has the best Chinese food and that's all a lie. We came to this restaurant because it has five stars and 14 reviews and we were very disappointed. First as we are walking in they are unloading a truck full of cup of noodles, then we order chow mein and it's hard noodles from those cups but with sauce, it was awful. Fried rice, orange chicken and shrimp were okay but not good. Don't understand the hype. Next day my daughter and I are sick with stomach pain.

The food was amazing we especially enjoyed the espárragos , la primera mesera que nos atendió media mamona .. she didn't know what Te verde was ?? Anyway service was fast and again food was delish!! Would come back again

My parents grew up in Mexicali, and this place was one of their favorites. We often take a small vacation at Mexicali during the summer and this has also been one of our stops. The food is here is fantastic, and delicious. There are lots of variety in the menu and the service was also great. Also, the portions are HUGE here, so don't order too much! Prices are great too.

Food was decent. I have no real complaints about this place. Out of the 6 or so dishes we tried there were two that I thought were real good, the others were just ok. The stand outs for me were the salt and pepper calamari and asparagus (although the calamari was a bit rubbery) and the special fried rice. The pineapple chicken was ok, very sweet. The chunkun were very bland. There was another dish, I'm not sure of the name but it had a bit of all types of meat and vegetables, I didn't like the flavor. Another beef dish was ok but very spicy. Service was fairly good and the place looks nice. It was sort of busy but we didn't wait very long for our food. Prices were affordable, $40 for enough food for four people easily. I've had better Chinese in mexicali and the imperial valley but I've also had worse. I'd say this place falls sort of in the middle. I'd eat there again, if someone invited me, but I'm not in a hurry to go back. I'm not really sure if I'd recommend it.
