Restaurante Contraseña

With such abundance of Michelin recommended restaurants in the region, we didn’t think we would come here twice in one week. But here we are. Original dishes beautifully presented and delicious. First time we took their tasting menu of 9 courses and were completely overwhelmed (could barely stand up from the table). Second time we went a la carte. They have the best so called Russian salad in the whole spain. Not sure why it’s still called this way through. Garlic prawns were excellent so was marinated mackerel. Out of the main courses we would single out omelette with oxtail stew. Local prawns crisps were amazing. All three desserts we tried were excellent- strawberry with cream, brownie with ice cream and pear. Great wine list and service too. Last but not least, the olive appetiser was an amazing surprise. Amazing meal at Contraseña! Loved every dish of our yummy tasting menu. I loved the tortilla de camarón, the gambas al ajillo and the torrija was one of the best I’ve had!

What an experience! Michelin guide suggested as a such a low price: 38.50 euro for menu classico and about 52.50 euro for the seasonal menu. Such high quality dishes and great service. And...cuidado con la aceituna!

We had the Classic Menu paired the wine menu. After having the first apperetif with the "Olive" you know this is going to be something else. All the dishes were perfectly prepared and presented. All the elements on each dish were there for a reason. You could taste every single element. The wine menu was perfectly matches with the food. Recommend to select the wine menu. The staff was extremely professional and guided us through the wines and food. It is an outstanding restaurant, whit a very high level of food, wine and service. If in Cádiz, you must try to visit the place. Highly recommended.

An amazing experience from beginning to end! We came with bags from a long day of travel and our host graciously stowed them for us. We began with the orange wine (Sol de Naranja) and chose the tasting menu. We had an incredible experience with all the courses and it was our first time trying a tasting menu. This restaurant is also excellent for patrons with food allergies! They accommodated my allergies by replacing them with wonderful off-menu items. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Yet another Michellin star restaurant in Cadiz! This one has a very nice ambiance, minimalist take on food presentation and works with simple flavours of this region. Quite an intrigue! Would recommend
