El Corral del Indianu

"This restaurant, occupying the oldest building in Arriondas, has a name that recalls those Asturians who left to find their fortune in the Americas at the end of the 19C, and then returned home wealthy and with a new social status. While the setting is special, with an interior dining room with a rustic-contemporary feel and a second glass-fronted room boasting attractive views of a delightful rear garden, the main attraction here is the culinary expertise of chef José Antonio Campoviejo. This chef’s great passion for cooking is showcased in his attention to detail, flavours and creativity, with a focus on traditional recipes from the abundant natural bounty of the Asturias region (oysters from the Eo estuary, Pitu de Caleya chickens, the region’s incredible cheeses, etc). The restaurant also has two reserved parking spaces by the front door for its guests." - Michelin Inspector

Great local cuisine, very refined, wonderful staff (although we did have a slight language barrier). Would highly recommend if you are around the area. Interior was not ours, but that’s just personal taste.

Spectacular. Deserving of another star. The service wasn't quite the pretentious, robotic perfection that Michelin generally requires for that sort of level, but all the better for it. Friendly and genuine. But centre stage is very much the extraordinary food. The tasting menu is up there with the best. Especially the "salad" course and the cigala. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful gastronomic experience!

Fabulous food, we enjoyed elements of spice in many of the dishes. It was great to try a tasting menu that incorporated much of the Asturian cuisine. Service brilliant too for a really memorable experience.

One of our best dining experience during our 4 weeks in Spain. The menu was traditional Asturias cuisine but with a twist. Lots of details had gone into the menu and also execution. The wine pairing was flawless. Highly recommend it.

A beautiful restaurant, with lovely decor. Staff are extremely nice and what can I say; the food is tremendous and out of this world. The chef is truly a culinary genius, providing a roller coaster ride for the palate.

My 152nd Michelin restaurant experience. At El Corral del Indianu, you have to respect what is going on here, as the chef clearly goes for it. Ingredient combinations that shouldn't make sense are plunged together as if concocted my a mad scientist. While some of them really don't work (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), enough of them do, and Id rather dine 10 times out of 10 at a place where a chef is constantly pushing the boundaries than a place where a chef no longer (or never) cared. The price point of 91 euros for around 15 bites also feels like a steal, if only they had enough servers (less than five serve the entire restaurant, leading to overly long delays bringing dishes or getting your check). So overall not quite worthy of 5 stars due to some taste misses and lack of servers, but still worth a visit considering the value.

Probably the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Service was amazing, loved the atmosphere, and the food was perfect.

The food was fabulous, as others have indicated. Also as some have noted it’s a little weird to sit on plastic furniture for such a high end meal. The staff were very helpful. There apparently was only one server who spoke English, and for the courses when he wasn’t available we were treated to a lovely young lady from the kitchen staff who knew some English. Meeting her was the best part of the evening! We were glad we chose the Sensations menu as we were very full by the end. We couldn’t have handled the degustación menu with its additional courses. Go for it! You won’t be disappointed!
