First the good things: great atmosphere, and service. Beautiful hotel and lounge area. Drinks were strong. The food was hit or miss. We were a party of 9c so we ordered a lot of things. It may have been the size of the party which complicated the timing of the food prep. For example the skin on the salmon looked like it was perfectly prepared, but by the time it got to us the skin had lost it’s crispness, and salmon was a tad over cooked. The flavor of the risotto was very good and the steak was excellent. The black ink pasta with shrimp was delicious. The grilled shrimp on the other hand was way over cooked and chewy, which is a shame because you can taste the nice char on it. The pork belly was really good (I would have liked it to be slow cooked more so that it’s more tender) but it had a super crispy skin as it should. The octopus looked beautiful, but it was drowned by all the different sauces that detracted from the flavor of the octopus itself. The sea bass with Gruyère was a gamble, it wasn’t bad, but we didn’t expect much from it. I would give the food 3 stars because they can be so much better with small attention to detail and editing some of their dishes. Expect to pay a minimum of $50 a person, so at least half of what you’d pay in the U.S., so a huge bargain especially how nice the service and the atmosphere was. Definitely go early and get a couple of drinks first.
