El Muro

"A unique restaurant that takes its name from the nearby walls of Vejer, a delightful “pueblo blanco” that was designated a national “Artistic and Historic Site” in 1976. Having spent time working in leading restaurants elsewhere, local chef Paco Doncel has returned to his roots to embark on his own project in this regionally inspired and casual setting. His cooking centres on contemporary cuisine influenced by local dishes such as his signature cannelloni (the filling depends on seasonal ingredients) and croquettes “de mi madre”, followed by cheesecake with ice-cream." - Michelin Inspector

Wonderful dinner. El Muro serves elaborate interpretations of traditional Andalusian cuisine. The young chef, Francisco Doncel, hails from Vejer and has returned to his hometown after working in renowned restaurants elsewhere. The menu is pleasantly short and changes regularly. My partner and I shared two starters, two main dishes and one dessert. Everything was perfectly executed and delicious, so much so that it's difficult to recommend anything in particular. At €37 per person, the value for money was exceptional. Overall, a great entry point into haute cuisine.

Had dinner here on the first night of our holiday and it was really special. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the whole set up oozes class. The menu is full of dishes that we wanted to try and the ones we did were sensational. A must for anyone who loves food and is visiting Vejer.

I recommend this restaurant 100 %! The service was super friendly, polite, quick and had good suggestions. The food was super delicious, nicely arranged and at the same time very unique meals! We sat outside and got offered a table inside when rain was approaching. It was the perfect end to a beautiful time in vejer.

The service is traditional, and the food is updated & classic. The green beans with ham that accompanied the white fish were rich and delicious. The mushroom croquettes were excellent. Amazing views from the intimate dining room.

Eclectic menu with some very great items! the tuna tataki was of exceptional quality and freshness. The lomo was prepared to perfection, juicy and delicious. The vegetarian options are a bit limited but they made an effort to accommodate the one in our group.

We really cannot fault Elmuro for an excellent lunch. The food was just so good, a menu with lots of interesting choices, really superbly cooked and presented. The fish of the day, corvina, was exceptional. The staff also made the experience even better-such nice, friendly and helpful people. We will be back, many thanks.
