Enxebre

"The first attractive aspect of this restaurant, the Galician name of which translates as something that is pure, authentic and genuine, is that it is run by a young couple, chefs Marcos and Patricia, the former from Vigo itself, the latter from Toledo. This modern space, laid out on two floors and boasting a semi-open-view kitchen, also has a bar counter where guests can dine while watching the chefs hard at work. The contemporary inspired à la carte showcases plenty of technical prowess through signature tapas such as the “cocido stew doughnut” and Enxebre’s own version of a cockle empanada, and is complemented by an impressive tasting menu. Make sure you try the creamy cheesecake (which you can also order to take away)." - Michelin Inspector

What an amazing experience to have lunch here. We stopped in Vigo on our way to the north of Spain and I’m glad that we did! Lovely city and lunch at this restaurant made it perfect! We chose the 35 euro menu, thinking it might be a few small bites but we were glad we didn’t take the 50 euro version with meat as the portions were very generous. Started with lovely bread with smoked butter, then we had a smoked starter of a deconstructed ham sandwich. An amazing squid ink empanada in a modern way followed and then a small sandwich with beef shank and brisket, heavenly! Then a rice dish with parsley oil and squid and then a piece of fish with cabbage. And dessert was a piece of cheesecake. For 35 euro! I was blown away, also the quality of the cooking and the presentation. Service was fantastic also, lovely people all around. Hope to come back here one day.

Excellent bib gourmande. Great service, food, and wine. We left feeling very satisfied and wondering if we could fit in another visit before moving on. Sadly we could not but will definitely be trying to come again and recommending it to others. The donut was a highlight for me but all the dishes were tremendous. Check it out!

A Tasting Menu Gem! We stopped by during our Camino trip. It offers a culinary experience that's both exquisite and budget-friendly. The tasting menu is a symphony of flavors, creatively presented to tantalize your senses. While the prices are pleasantly affordable, the lingering grill smell on clothes might be a minor inconvenience. Overall, it is a top choice for those seeking gourmet quality without the hefty price tag.

Great food! The waitress was super nice to us, helping us in deciding what to get and the amounts (without her guidance, we would have order way too much for 2!). The Bonito Tataki was incredible!!! We also loved the panacota and bunuelos de bacalao. The dessert was otherworldly! In the top 3 of all I have ever ate.

Lovely restaurant and excellent service. All the food is expertly presented and tastes delicious. Highly recommended if you want a Michelin Star Dining experience for a very reasonable price!

Spot to consider for affordable fine dining in a open-kitchen modern venue. Cooks worked in several well-know restaurants across Spain including michelin starred Kabuki Wellington and Lera or Fismuler in Madrid. Modern technics applied to traditional Galician food with tasty result. Basic winelist

Heavenly. Let go of your dietary constraints, and enjoy lots of cream light as air in unexpected places.

If you want to have an 11 Madison Avenue experience at the fraction of the price, come to this place. Owners Marcos and Patri are incredible humble, down to earth, yet inventive and audacious chefs, who create dishes based on great produce. Come sit at the chef’s bar/table, get the fixed menu and be surprised with fish, meat, sauce and vegetable combinations that will take your taste buds to a different orbit. Get a local Galician wine. Take advantage of your front row seat and chat with chefs and other kitchen staff, while enjoying watching dish preparation and learning from these food artists. When I come back to Vigo, I’ll definitely dine at Enxebre.
