Restaurante Espacio Montoro

Great place in Alicante! Personally, I find it difficult to find interesting flavor combinations in dishes in Alicante. So I'm thrilled to have found this restaurant. We didn't expect that it would not only be an interesting experience, but also, in the end, a very filling dinner (some people might disagree with me on this part). I loved everything—the variety of flavors, the staff, the atmosphere. It was fantastic! I'm not a Michelin expert, but I think this restaurant deserves at least a spot in the Michelin Guide. Seriously, if Piripi can earn a spot in the guide by selling ordinary boiled red shrimp for 300 euros per kilo or simply preparing delicious classic dishes, how could they not include Espacio Montori? It’s normal, that you can’t like some dish, but it doesn’t mean they prepare it not good. Anyway, it’s what I thought. I was there with my husband and it’s really nice place for romantic dinner (even private in some point). Especially if you want to spend your date interesting, not just eat good food.

Our fourth visit to Montoro in Alicante, and once again everything was outstanding. The service was excellent, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the food absolutely delicious. A truly delightful experience — we’ll definitely be back again soon! Frederik Godefroid

Everything was good; some bites were exceptional. The experience is one-of-a-kind in Alicante. It would not be far-fetched to see this place get a Michelin star someday. I probably would’ve preferred a shorter menu (say, 5 courses) with the dishes I liked most but that’s my personal preference. I found some of the demiglazes too rich but, again, it’s a matter of preference. My favorite plates were the chawanmushi and the rodaballo.

Amazing experience! If you love creative food, attentive service and surprises this place is definitely best restaurant for you in Alicante!

We feel so lucky to have discovered this place. We enjoy when a chef and their team take you on a sensory experience and here that experience was magical. We loved moving into different spaces and how enthusiastic and welcoming the staff were as they explained pairings and combinations of flavors to us. The food is thoughtful, local and most of all delicious. We are fans.

Montoro exemplifies sophisticated dining with its use of local ingredients and subtle Asian influences in some of its dishes. This approach not only impresses the palate but also stimulates the senses. Providing a full review of the restaurant would be unfair to future guests, as many preparations must be experienced personally, and part of the magic lies in the surprise of not knowing what will come next. Nonetheless, each dish feels perfectly balanced and in harmony with the overall experience. In a dynamic setting, the style of preparation adapts to the mood of each room, to which one is moved, with a strong presence of the Alicante region's flavors evident throughout the menu. Additionally, the restaurant offers a final surprise: innovative, sense-stimulating cocktails that add a sweet note to an extraordinary culinary journey.

Whilst I appreciate the diverse culinary landscape, my recent dining experience fell short of expectations. Me and my partner visited Spain for its wonderful places, people and food. We regularly visit Michelin Star restaurants and we were curious about this space as we read somewhere that is aiming for a Michelin star (not yet granted, though). Flavours were not well balanced. Most of them were extremely salty to the extent of not being able to find any other flavours. The quality of the ingredients I would said fair or average, but far from exceptional. The servings were really scarce. Overall, the experience did not justify the price paid.

A delightful experience, impeccable attention to detail and excellent service. The food was exquisite. A definite recommendation.
