The 17 Best Restaurants In Madrid 2024

"Cozy sofas, vintage chairs, and warm lighting that makes you feel like you're in your favorite minimalist friend's home—welcome to Farah, an intimate restaurant, and the spot for date night. You’ll surround yourself with hip La Latina locals and enjoy the fresh Mediterranean small plates. If you spot massive Albesa tomatoes, low-acidic varieties that grow in the Catalonian countryside, on Farah’s bar counter you absolutely have to order one. While it may feel weird to ask for just a tomato, they come drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, topped with sea salt, and with a robust flavor that’ll leave even anti-vegetable eaters wanting more. The perfect first-date move is ordering the wild sea bass. When the server arrives with a gigantic platter of fish so fresh it feels like it was pulled from the sea moments ago, topped with tahini and capers, you'll know you scored a second date." - lori zaino

Farah is a genuinely charming restaurant that understands generosity without turning it into a performance. The food leans confidently into Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences, with flavours that feel layered, thoughtful, and unapologetically bold. The service deserves its own mention, warm, and refreshingly attentive, the kind that makes you relax into the experience rather than rush through it. The kebab was outstanding, deeply flavoured and perfectly cooked, while the salade de tomate was deceptively simple and utterly delicious. Both dishes were knockouts! Easily one of the highlights of my trip to Madrid, and a place I would return to without hesitation.

SO, SO DISAPPOINTING – not worth the hype. A charming little spot with tasteful decor and genuinely delicious food (although not enough to justify the price tag). What truly let the experience down, however, was the service. We had a reservation for 20:00 and arrived punctually, only to find the restaurant door closed and four or five staff members seemingly engrossed in conversation. Once seated, the service was riddled with issues. There appeared to be no system in place; staff were dashing about in a disorganised manner, resembling headless chickens. We requested water which never arrived, and the servers seemed unfamiliar with the (very limited) menu, unable to guide us through it. They were also oddly insistent that we order more food – which, thankfully, we declined, as three dishes proved more than sufficient. Guests were frequently being moved between tables, and it was unclear whether there was a seating plan in operation or whether something had gone awry that evening. The staff appeared disengaged and rather unhappy to be there, which inevitably affected the atmosphere. Tables inside are uncomfortably close to one another, and the poor acoustics make it difficult to hold a conversation. I take no pleasure in writing this, as it’s clear that a great deal of thought has gone into the concept. However, if the restaurant is to live up to its potential, serious attention must be paid to recruiting and properly training the front-of-house team.

The food is fantastic! A beautiful restaurant and a lovely owner who we had a great chat with. We had the txakoli and crianza as drinks. We got the muhamarra which was divine and pulpo a la plancha with caper berries which I 100% recommend. Great service, great food.

If you’re looking for a place where quality meets impeccable service, this is it. The food is outstanding – each dish is crafted with care, using top-notch ingredients. everything was a flavor explosion. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of both the food and the service more than justifies it. If you’re after a memorable dining experience and don’t mind splurging for something truly special, this place won’t disappoint.

Saw this place on Instagram, according to an influencer it was delicious good price food. Food was good, nothing high standard. We had octopus which was lovely cooked and muhamara, which wasn’t impressive. We ordered the iconic cheese dessert and wasn’t as good as videos show. We didn’t book, waitress were kind but when we were waiting for dessert which seemed to be the owner or a chief staff, sat next to us discussing that we were taking too much time on leaving and that the table was booked by somebody else. Personally think this is not high standard cuisine, is only high standard price and made for tourists. Our visit was back on the 12th of April this year.

Exceptional Middle Eastern food with outstanding quality. I ordered the octopus, which was cooked to perfection, and the lamb was absolutely delicious. The spinach salad and a mix of cold mezze—labneh, baba ghanuj, and muhammara—were all very tasty. The kenefe for dessert is a must-try when you visit. Highly recommended

Our dinner at Farah was enjoyable but nothing special. It's a small restaurant that fuses Middle Eastern and Spanish cuisine. Given the relatively high prices, we expected somewhat refined dishes. However, the tomato salad (€14) was really just half of a huge pink tomato with olive oil, salt and garlic. The eggplant fatteh (€17) tasted like it was made with canned tomatoes. The suckling lamb kebab (€19) consisted of three meatballs without much of a lamb taste. While all three dishes were okay, the prices are completely out of line with the quality. In addition, we weren't informed in advance that we had to leave by 10PM to make room for the next guests. As a result, we weren't able to order dessert. I don't think we'll come back.
