"If you’re looking for a restaurant in which to escape the stresses of daily life, Filandón guarantees a thoroughly tranquil experience on the edge of El Pardo, in the heart of the countryside but just a few minutes from the centre of the Spanish capital. In its pleasant, rustically inspired dining rooms, one of which stands on the terrace, savour traditional cuisine where the focus is always on the best-possible ingredients, ranging from superb fish sourced daily from the Pescaderías Coruñesas company to select cuts of meat and delicious rice. Many of the dishes here are cooked on the grill." - Michelin Inspector

I had so many hopes for this restaurant. One of the classics of Madrid! Instead we found a poor service, with little attention to customers. Most of all we ordered fish and it was completely covered by salty and honestly fat sauces. I expected much better

Beautiful experience specially in Christmas, ambience and decoration is great! Amazing for family celebrations. Food was great, although don’t get too excited about the avocado with salmon. Fish is cooked deliciously!

Very nice. It is beautiful and I would consider it romantic -especially the terrace. As far as the food is quite average. Ok, but nothing more. Sirloin with potato chips. Wow! The calamari was nicely presented but awful. Service was o k when nothing special. Bread was quite terrible. I haven't looked at the reviews but i'm shocked at the ratings.

Just go! Fish is out of this world and cooked and served to perfection! Delicious, apps are also to die for - go with anything tomatoesz. Tomatoes from Spain are sweet, plump and have such natural tastes that you will not forget! The cooking of the fish is done as you enter the restaurant over the grill - fish was so fresh it was like butter, soft and melts in your mouth! displays are spectacular!

One of the best restaurants you can go to in Madrid! It's a bit on the expensive side but it is definitely worth every penny. Make sure to book your reservation in advance as they are usually fully booked.

In November we reserved a table for 7 people indoors for a special celebration to take place in December. Instead, we were given a table in the winter terrace where the temperature was around 2-4 degrees Celsius. Impossible to enjoy anything, food, conversation, etc. We had our coats on but had to insist to be given blankets several times and also for heaters. It didn’t make much difference. We were frozen. How can such a well known and pricey restaurant allow this to happen? This area should be closed in the cold months or properly closed off, as other areas are in the restaurant. Everywhere else was cozy and warm, as we had expected for our celebration. Not ours. Because it was so cold, the food was also cold. Even staff acknowledged that these were not the conditions to enjoy a meal or even work. Some of us think we caught a cold that night. We could not feel our feet. For years it has been our favorite restaurant in Madrid. No longer so, we will go somewhere else.

Beautiful architecture and setting. If you like the smell of a fireplace, you will enjoy this place. Great steaks and fish. Great service setup. There are waiter staging "stations" located between tables to assist with food prep and also clearing your table quickly. Expensive.

It took me over than a year to find a booking slot, hence be sure to book well in advance. It’s quite a massive facility, with different areas and environment, and all of them are carefully attended to. High end nonetheless with a cosy touch to it. Service is spot on, very according to the level of the restaurant. The kitchen is at the core of the facilities, with massive windows, so you can see how the food is prepared. Food was amazing, based on few but high quality ingredients. Also liked that some dishes are available in half portions, so we could try different things. All this comes with a price tag attached, roughly 40€ per person, but for the occasional treat, totally recommended.

Yelp

Yelp
Our best meal in Madrid!! If you are looking for an authentic Spanish meal, this is it! This place is outside of the Madrid city limit so you do need a car to get here. Upon entering, you are inside a beautiful barn house restaurant. We decided to sit inside so we can avoid the smokers. We ordered family style - starting with Iberico Jamón and flatbread pizza. Both were super delicious. We then proceeded with octopus w/ aioli sauce. The sauce was super light and added so much flavor to the octopus. We ended up asking for more aioli sauce so we can dip our chips in it. For entrees, we shared the grilled fish, which was super fresh and the steak, which was well executed. All the cookings involved locally sourced ingredients with the simplest seasonings. We also shared a bottle of PSI, which paired very well with the meal. This place is highly recommended!

Yelp
Nice place to have a family lunch including a 3 month old and a 4 year old. Servers were very nice and prompt. Food was amazing. Our table had a variety of fishes and for starters the glass bread, pulpo, shrimps and tomato and asparagus salad. All wonderful! Setting was beautiful and cozy with fires as we entered. Highly recommend.

Yelp
A beautiful setting with outdoor lighting that sets the stage before you even walk in. The grill and fresh vegetables draw you in even further upon entering the space. Burrata appetizer was creamy and the arugula was a nice bitter balance. The monk fish and sirloin were both top notch. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a beautiful restaurant with spectacular food. Let's start with the service - top notch. I noticed they pay very careful attention to detail. Place settings, cleanliness, the glasses, everything was cared for. Wine - If your glass runs dry - they pour. The food is comprised of the finest ingredients and obviously is selected with care. The menu has something for everyone and every course is covered. There are plenty of meat and fish dishes to choose from. The prices are pretty good when considering the quality of food and level of service. The wine list is extensive. You won't find fancy plating here, in that I mean a dab of color here and a flower there. This is set up more like an upscale farm to table experience. We loved every minute and will definitely head back for more.

Yelp
Outstanding restaurant with a wonderful ambiance from the second you.pull in the drive. The food , from the starters through the desserts, were all delicious and very well presented.

Yelp
A great experience! The View, the ambiance, and the Food- all beyond great! Came here for a nice family lunch with our 3 kids (9,7,4 yrs old) and service was excellent...they were just as happy as we were...a bit on the pricey side but well worth it... spent a long Sunday "lunch" here and left in real Sundaze!

Yelp
Amazing dish here in a great environment. From the get go it smells delicious and smokey and the service is friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to splurge and order more than you need to so you can flavorsport on the back porch.

Yelp
Ambiance appears to reflect some sort of "natural chic" with wooden tables and wood panels on ceiling and walls, hower you then find brown plastic chairs combined with other wooden/woven chairs which does not provide a harmonious match. Interior chimney nice, but the air always a bit smokey. The food: quality is good, but presentation is very bland. Some of our plates also had some fingerprints at second glance. The menus appeared worn out, also with quiet a few stains on them. Service overall is ok, no complaints. Overall: Solid restaurant, nice setting, good quality food, but loses out on the details. Not a must for Madrid in my opinion.

Yelp
Beautiful, Beautiful, Delicious, Delicious, and Delicious....is all I can think of as I sit down to write this review after my recent trip to Madrid. We were staying about 15 minutes from downtown Madrid as my husband and I were attending an event for about a week. Several times we took a cab into the city for dinner and it was ok...but then I found Filandon on Yelp! I wish I had looked sooner...and I ate there three times, each time with a new person added to the group, in one week! Yes it was that good. At first I was a bit skeptical because we were outside of the city and well I figured it was just going to be a local cafe of sorts...and we were so wrong-this is a delicious, gourmet, beautiful experience! It is also a place to see beautiful people! As you walk inside they have a giant grill where they are cooking fresh whole fish, inside glass walls, that let you see into the spotless kitchen. Also, we were greeted by hostesses who were very helpful and friendly even though we only knew a bit of Spanish. A little further in they lay out/display fresh vegetables, fishes, breads in a stunning display showing the freshness of what they are offering. Every evening we sat outside on what is one of the most beautiful and well planned out terraces. They have heaters and even blankets should you get a bit chilly later into the evening. The first night we did not realize they had english menu's (I was translating from the online english one) but were offered them later on another evening. The fresh whole sole is the dish of the house and yes...I ate it three times in one week. The burrata and grilled squid were simply delicious. Many dishes were tried throughout the week and the only one I wasn't that impressed with was the asparagus/tomato salad....which wasn't bad since between three nights and several people we tried just about everything there was to have on the menu. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, helpful, and patient with us and our broken Spanish. They have gluten free options and you can ask (and they will bake up) fresh gluten free bread. I highly recommend trying this restaurant off the beaten path! Twice we did not have reservations and once we did as they get very busy after 10 pm!

Yelp
Fabulous dinner this evening. The wine, food and dessert was all was fantastic. The service was an added bonus with polite and attentive staff.

Yelp
On the outskirts of Madrid. This place offers fish and meet on wood fire grill. All dishes were spectacular. Great selection of traditional Spanish dishes. Don't come here looking for paella. Had anchovies, calamari, and red shrimp to start. For main course is shared a large chulets. Cheese for desert! All perfect. Amazing wine selection at very reasonable prices.
