Flor de Lis by Vila Foz

"If the prospect of eating in a 19C mansion overlooking the sea appeals to you, this is definitely the place, where it shares the setting with the one-Michelin-star Vila Foz, albeit with a more informal format. It is overseen by chef Arnaldo Azevedo, who serves meticulously created, sophisticated dishes with an international flavour. Choose between the à la carte and “executive” menus based around seasonal ingredients and lots of detail. When the weather allows, make sure you book a table on the terrace." - Michelin Inspector

My fiancee and i were guests of the hotel and we decided to try their restaurant, and Flor de Lis it has been a great choice! A believe they are aiming the michelin star and for what they offer, this restaurant truly deserve it! Food is modern Portuguese with other influences. The starter was a salmon ceviche, my main was the green risotto with scallops (delicious!!!) and my fiancee had the market fish (a cod if I'm not wrong) Service was professional, everybody speaks perfect English, friendly and attentive staff and managers too. Well done team!!!

We had a three-course lunch at this restaurant. The location is excellent—right on the oceanfront, with a cool breeze coming in from the sea. Even on one of the hottest days, it felt refreshingly pleasant. The restaurant is part of a beautiful boutique hotel, and during lunchtime, many locals come to dine, which is always a good sign. The service was also very good, and parking is free. However, the food did not meet our expectations. As a starter, we chose the octopus salad. It was fine, but nothing exceptional. For the main course, we had the pork with potatoes, which again was decent but not at a chef-level standard. For dessert, we ordered the cake with ice cream—the cake was dry and disappointing, one of the weakest parts of the meal. On the positive side, the pricing was excellent. For all three courses, plus wine or beer and a bottle of sparkling water, we paid only €26.

I recently had lunch at this restaurant, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The tiger prawn moqueca with basmati rice was simply excellent—rich, well-balanced flavors with perfectly cooked prawns. The scallop risotto verde was also a standout, with beautifully seared scallops and a wonderfully creamy texture. For dessert, the goiaba fondant with Serra cheese was a delightful surprise—an elegant balance of sweetness and character, absolutely delicious. The wine selection is impressive, the service both professional and friendly, and the lovely terrace makes the experience even more enjoyable. A place I’d love to return to!

Pricey. Exceedingly attentive and friendly service. Well curated and thoughtful flavors. Satisfying ambiance. A bit expensive but overall good. The restaurant was accommodating to finding me vegan options.

New Yorker here. A stunningly stellar restaurant in a gorgeous setting. Escaped touristy Porto to this beautiful enclave on the Atlantic to find a decadent meal. Was awed by the quality, especially the risotto and the dry aged ribeye. Michelin is in business for a reason and this is a serious restaurant displaying execution, ambition and superb product. Leave the tourist trap and experience the real Porto. Bummer it took me two days to figure this out…

I was really disappointed with this meal. I had booked it long in advance and was really excited to eat here after browsing the menu and reading good reviews. However i felt the food and service were both very much lacking. It was early and the restaurant was not busy at all, yet the servers gave us very little attentions leaving us waiting long periods of time without serving us. The starter was fine, bread was ok but not fresh or anything special, the lobster in the ravioli was over cooked and rubbery. For a main I ordered the fish of the day which was sea bass decided with vegetables and potatoes, I asked for no potatoes but a poached egg instead. The fish came with no seasoning or sauce with some plane broccoli on the side and a hard boiled egg (all very dry and no flavour) I asked for some sauce and the poached egg, the severs disappeared for 10 minutes when I asked again I was told there is no sauce and the egg would come, 20 minutes after that and chasing two separate people I received my poached egg for my now cold fish and broccoli. I can’t believe any chef would be happy to send such a bland dish out of the kitchen and not to allow me to have any kind of salsa / sauce or flavour to improve it. In general the staff were highly inattentive and we felt quite ignored and not at all cared for. Very disappointing as it was to celebrate our engagement and we were so looking forward to a treat meal out as we are bodybuilders and rarely have an off plan meal so we really appreciate a nice meal when we do. I hope this was a one off and they usually have much better food and service.

My husband and I had our favorite meal in mainland Portugal here. We had a 7pm reservation and were escorted to a dark corner of an empty room in the restaurant. We were immediately nervous by the lack of other guests, but the staff and food more than made up for it. The wait staff was kind and attentive while also being unintrusive. There was a button on our table to call the staff, but they came by the table enough that we only had to use it once. We ordered the Beet Textures and Bread as starters and then split the Sea Bass and Shrimp Rice and Sirloin of Veal. All were delicious with incredible depth of flavor, and even now my husband and I was still dreaming of the Sea Bass and Shrimp Rice. We would strongly recommend Flor de Lis by Vila Foz to anyone and will definitely be going back when we’re in Porto.

Had a lovely lunchtime meal here. They do a menu de dia but we went for a selection of starters which were really good. If you are going to have a dessert the guava fondant was amazing! Forget chocolate fondants, this is the way to go. Bathroom really nice. My husband loves places with little towels and the hand cream smells lovely.
