"A fine-dining restaurant in Guatemala City known for its modern Guatemalan cuisine and glitzy dining experience."

"The dark, elegant dining room of Flor de Lis is gently illuminated by lava red lighting and spotlights focused on the tables, while the walls are lined with figurines. This is the setting for chef Diego Télles, who plates modern Guatemalan cuisine inspired by Maya culture and mythology. Tasting menus are available in both eight and 10 courses, including infladitas, thin corn pouches filled with caramel foam, orange, and passionfruit pulp; tomato confit, a plate inspired by Huehueteca monay, a Lenten dish; and baked fish wrapped in brilliantly green maxan leaves, paired with a rich emulsion of ash and coconut that forms a well for a pool of herbed olive oil." - Bill Esparza

The chef will do his own dishes! I respect that a lot! The food is the best in GC - really, I've tried all the best places. I recommend the chefs table but it's not required.

The food and service at this restaurant was so good I have never had an experience like it. I really enjoyed learning the different stories from the Popolvu book and going on a gastronomical journey. For the price of this fine dining experience it was worth it and no one left hungry. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Guatemala wanting to have a unique dining experience. Be prepared to be at the restaurant for about 2-3 hours.

The best meals I’ve ever had have always been more than just the food. They’ve been an experience. Restaurante Flor De Lis was exactly that. A culinary tour of Guatemala and mythology. There is so much I can say about this place but to start it was fabulous and you shouldn’t think twice about dining here. I found it on the top 50 restaurants website where I had found a fabulous place called Maido in Lima a few years ago which was equally amazing so I knew the references checked out. I didn’t know much about it just that I had one night in Guatemala City and do this was where I wanted to be. It did not didssspoint. The service was exceptional. Shout out to Bianca who was running the whole restaurant and on top of everything from the story telling of each dish to running the food and suggesting drinks. A gracious host. Each dish that arrived was better than the next and the presentation of each one made me want to wonder at the design, reluctant to eat. My favorite dishes were the first which was called Ixmukane, an homage to the sun and the moon and a story about the abuela. The “men of maíz” which exploded with flavor and the “heart of man heart of fish” which was knee buckling delicious… good thing I was sitting down. The cocktails were from the speakeasy bar Balama which is upstairs and each one handcrafted with care. If you are in town for a night or live in this wonderful city and have never been make it your top priority to experience Flor De Lis.

an amazing experience! The tomato did something to my brain, the ambiance 😘, service, the flavors, it was magical. A lot goes into the sourcing and creation of these courses and as a person who is untrained in the kitchen i wonder how each course is gotten perfect sooo consistently! Incredibly intricate. the music choice was on point, really a great experience. But: for the price im paying i felt like the servers were/are tired of telling the same story to each table. Rushing through it, speaking almost robotically & rehearsed. It took me out of it time and time and I just had to revert to the website. so what was the point of having the waiters do it? Maybe have a carton for each meal with the story? Or have everyone on the same course so it’s told once idk. 2nd: honestly thought deer would be an interesting addition to the menu as it’s so forthcoming in the culture/folk tales etc in general thought the courses were missing a hearty meat element 3rd: booking process is muddy, i whatsapped and barely got an answer, and then emailed and had to manually send information, why not offer a booking website that sends a reminder, confirmation, etc. 4th: it wasn’t clear from the website that the chef’s table would be offered different courses. Honestly thought the price difference came down to the seating, but having scrolled through the qr code website I noticed that it was more than just a seating choice. If i had known maybe we would have gone for that option.

I absolutely recommend this restaurant, a must try experience. A journey through the Mayan culture. Every dish is exquisite. A dinner is comprised of 10 set plates. We enjoyed each dish so much that each dish was a favorite. I did not feel heavy afterwards. Venue is intimate and staff is professional. We will be back!

A Captivating Dining Experience at Flor de Lis: A Fusion of Elegance, Superb Service, and Intriguing Culinary Delights During my last trip to Guatemala City, I had the pleasure of visiting Flor de Lis restaurant with my business partners. We made sure to book in advance to secure a dinner reservation, as this establishment can be quite challenging to visit without prior arrangements. The restaurant exudes elegance, and the service provided was truly exceptional. Upon perusing the menu, we were immediately captivated by its intriguing offerings. Each course was accompanied by a detailed explanation from our knowledgeable server, enlightening us about the origins and inspirations behind each delectable dish. It was a delightful journey for our palates, blending flavors from diverse culinary traditions. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between classic elegance and contemporary flair. The stylish decor and modern touches created an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, I must note that the cocktail selection offered was somewhat limited, which surprised me, considering the usual presence of a more extensive mixology menu in such establishments. The same applied to the wine options. Nevertheless, this slight observation did not overshadow the exceptional quality of the food and service. In conclusion, I am confident that I will return in the future to further explore the culinary delights at Flor de Lis. I commend the restaurant for their remarkable dining experience, and at this moment, I am awarding them a well-deserved 5-star rating. However, should the cocktail offerings not improve upon my next visit, I will make the necessary adjustment to reflect my updated evaluation.

We really enjoyed the food and experience here! I did the vegetarian menu and was not disappointed. I saw some reviews saying it was very little food, but I was full well before the end of our tasting. A beautiful way to enjoy Maya food and stories.
