"Despite its somewhat unusual location in an apartment complex along the Playa de Patalavaca in the southern part of Gran Canaria, La Aquarela has become one of the leading names on the island’s restaurant scene. To a welcoming and hushed backdrop of classic decor and romantic tables (those overlooking the swimming pool are perfect for enjoying the sunset), savour delicate, highly technical dishes with lots of flavour and a strong connection to the local area, but with their own personality, as demonstrated by the occasional Nordic touch (chef Germán Ortega spent several years working in Stockholm). Up to 85% of its ingredients are locally sourced and are showcased in modern Canary Island dishes on three menus: Experiencia (combining the sea and the land), Tierra (vegetarian) and Fish Lovers (with an obvious focus on fish and seafood from the Atlantic waters around the islands)." - Michelin Inspector

A very beautiful restaurant with a stunning view of the ocean. The service was amazing. Even my bag got its own chair, the servers were very good and they always payed attention, but not in a pushing way. I ate one of the put together menus, I have to say I didn’t enjoy most of it, but that might be just me because everyone else seemed to enjoy the food. And I did get a taste of my friend’s separate dish, and that was extremely good! I wish they had more suiting music, the volume was nice and not too loud, but they played like pop songs, and for a restaurant like this I really think something more classical would suit better.

Excellent! My first experience at a Michelin rated restaurant. The whole experience was lovely. We each got different fix course options: the experience ( mixed meats and fish) and the fish lovers. The fish lovers was lighter and more delicate in flavor. The experience was richer. Everything from the service, to the food, to the plates and cutlery was exceptional! The desserts were light and perfectly sweet. Highly recommended!

If you want to indulge yourself a bit of extravagance. This was one of the best things we’ve ever tasted and experienced. A delightful journey through flavors of Canarian specialties with a modern twist. Around 20 courses, beautifully presented as amazing flavor explosions, enhanced with reduced sauces and flavor boosters. Even today, I find myself savoring the memory and can still taste parts of this heavenly meal… 😋😋

Great place for good food. Super service. But there are some items for improvement. - Some dishes are too salty for our taste. - There are are near the swimming pool also available for the hotel guests which are walking near your table. - This is the first Michelin restaurant, after the set menu we'd like to eat something more )

I don’t say this often - this meal was world class. Each dish exceptional paired thoughtfully with the perfect wine, all, mainly, from the Canaries or Spain. What a pleasure it was to enjoy such creativity and brilliance. Every dish was perfect in texture, flavour, appearance and size. Just wow. Well done!

A truly sublime dining experience hosted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well worth its Michelin star. We had the experience with wine pairing. All of the food was beautifully presented to us with a sense of locality, pride and passion of what they were serving. The wines were sublime with several local delicacies we are now going to search out. A huge thanks to Victorina who's passion for the food and drink was evident in every interaction. If you ate visiting Gran Canaria and want a gastronimc delight this is the place to visit. A special note goes to the tuna dish which is one of the best thing I have ever tasted alo aside the Albarino and the Canarian red wine

Chef Ortega is a master at his craft. Only here have I tasted dishes that build in flavour and character as the menu progresses. As tantalised and entertained on the last dish as the first. Very clever, Chef. Very clever. Best Michelin experience yet.
