A Meat Lover’s Paradise in Vejer de la Frontera If you’re visiting Vejer and love meat, La Castillería is an absolute must. This place is legendary—and rightfully so. We came without a reservation (which I wouldn’t recommend), but luck was on our side and we managed to grab a table at 1:30 PM. The place was already jam-packed, and it’s easy to see why. We started with the blue cheese and artichoke salad. It was rich, creamy, and flavorful—slightly too creamy for my taste, but still very enjoyable. Then came the eggplant with minced beef, and honestly, it might have been the best eggplant dish I’ve ever had. The flavors were deep, savory, and unforgettable. But the real showstopper? The leg of lamb with enchilada seasoning. Cooked to absolute perfection, it had just the right amount of salt and spice. I don’t say this lightly—I’ve never enjoyed a piece of lamb quite like this before. We also shared a grilled veggie plate to balance things out, which was fresh and nicely prepared. La Castillería isn’t just another steakhouse—it’s one of the best meat-focused restaurants I’ve experienced in all of Europe. Make a reservation, come hungry, and prepare to be impressed.

You don’t come to this Place for drinks or the nice view. You come for the best meat experience… and not just meat. The Starters and Salads are just amazing … Thank you. We just loved the Steak!!

It’s is expensive!!! BUT the food is fantastic. It is strictly a meat restaurant and the loin is a 500g portion. It comes with a little vegetables on the plate, but there is an option to order a platter for the table if you’re in a group. They were considerate of our 4 year old and offered him sausage and chips.

Just perfect ! The most amazing food, atmosphere, service. Nothing more to say.

Great place: very nice ambiance to eat (both outside and inside) and excellent steaks and other Spanish fine dining. Prices are relatively high for Spain but still reasonable. English menus, but staff is less comfortable with English. Very popular with the Spanish, so come on time or accept to wait for a table.

The tastiest food we had on our holiday was here, good portions & friendly staff. One of the places not to be missed.

Food is good but not the best meat I ever ate. Recommendations were strong so we had expectations and were a bit disappointed. Staff is nice and environment is nice, but not so special.
