Restaurante La Montería

We came here based on a recommendation from a local and it didn't disappoint. Everything from start to finish was delicious. They bring out some tiny fried shrimp when you sit down as a snack. We had a lovely bottle of alborinho for 20 euro. My husband had mushroom risotto as a starter which was huge and I had grilled baby squid (a special that day) which was superb. My husband had the monkfish and rice which was actually a huge tail on the bone with some rice and I had the venison sirloin which was melt in the mouth perfect. We were too full for dessert unfortunately. Highly recommend.

Don't let the spartan, slightly outdated look of this restaurant, it is a hidden gem! Awesome product, traditional Spanish cuisine with a twist. Fairer prices than many other pretentious high end outfits. It's wine list might benefit from greater depth, yet the selection is great and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Hardcore Spanish menu, full of seafood and fish options. Definitely have to reserve, if you are visiting would recommend you take a look at the menus before to understand the different dishes. Have salon and barra, always full especially on weekends. If you want to eat like a local, come here and they will treat you great. Great prices, around 50 euros a person with full range of food and drinks for a great feast. Would go back for sure

Great food! The tuna dish is the best fish I have ever ate! It's so amazing! Free appetizer dry shrimp is also great :) Very good cake:) love their fresh bread, different flavours you can choose what you prefer:) love the atmosphere, beautiful decoration and great service:)

We had the Boletus (mushrooms) eggs and Rabo de Toro (bull's tail), both excellent.

Really enjoyed this Michelin star restaurant. English wasn't a problem for this well trained, very friendly staff. Food was adventurously delicious, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Great atmosphere. I suggest the 9 course tasting menu, but for the whole table. You don't want to be stuck with your food done waiting for the rest of the table to finish course after course.

Sophisticated high end restaurant tucked away in a nice part of the city. The tasting menu was great value for money and had some excellent dishes. It was, however, a lot of food so I'd recommend coming with an appetite. The service was impeccable too.

Excellent!!! Normally if my experience is good, I give 5/5 But this restaurant deserves much more than that 10 out of 5. The local friend brought us on Saturday night. Most probably one of the best dinners I had in Spain. No need to say the mood & service. It was excellent. The dishes were served exactly in the perfect order even though we didn't ask any.(fish first & meat in the end) There are menu over 40E ppl but we ordered a la carte. Every single dishes was exquisite! Bread were served 3 different. Boletus with poached egg, Rabo de Toro. We had 3 fried dishes(mixed fishes as apéritif on house, merluza, calamar/squid) Spanish style fritura// the different style from tempura, One of the best fried dishes I have ever had in Spain. ((Though I dont credit for fried dishes : Last year I stayed in Malaga for 9 months, I had too much eaten bad/oily/salty fried dishes.)) I had a experience of gastronomy but the bill was normal casual restaurant. I am really impressed. I can recommend this restaurant!!
