Lamian

"If you’re a fan of Asian fusion cuisine, this is definitely the place for you! In this simple restaurant, the name of which refers to the Chinese technique for making hand-pulled noodles, the cuisine combines Chinese, Japanese and Thai recipes created with Spanish ingredients, with many dishes influenced by Asian street food. Many dishes are made for sharing – don’t pass up on specialities such as the delicious Dim Sum or any of the Ramen options, such as the exotically named “Jackie Chan is not Bruce Lee”, made with oxtail." - Michelin Inspector

Lamian restaurant delivers exceptional Chinese fusion cuisine with a focus on expertly crafted traditional dishes. The dimsum offerings are truly amazing, showcasing the kitchen's mastery of these delicate classics. The siumai were perfectly steamed with tender pork and shrimp filling, while the hakaw featured translucent, silky wrappers encasing fresh, flavorful shrimp. The xiao long bao were outstanding - delicate soup dumplings with thin skins that burst with savory broth and well-seasoned pork filling. The udon noodle bowl was another standout, demonstrating the restaurant's ability to blend Chinese and Japanese influences seamlessly. The noodles had perfect texture and the broth was rich and satisfying, creating a comforting dish that perfectly complements the more intricate dimsum offerings. It's essential to have a reservation because the restaurant is very small, which creates an intimate dining atmosphere but also means limited seating availability. The compact space actually adds to the authentic feel, reminiscent of the small, specialized restaurants where these traditional dishes originated. Lamian successfully bridges Chinese and fusion cuisine while maintaining the authenticity and quality that makes their dimsum and noodle dishes truly exceptional. The small size only enhances the focused, artisanal approach to their carefully crafted menu.

As Chinese people, we’ve tried quite a few things, but we’ve never had oxtail noodle soup like this before. We were surprised by the intensity of the broth—so delicious! The other dishes also won us over. The chef is incredibly kind—a clear recommendation!

One of my favorite hidden gems in my area! I’ve been coming here for years now, it is small and cozy and has very friendly staff. The must here is definitely the duck roll pancakes! Also the steamed open duck dumplings and pork Xiaolongbaos. The owner has a wine passion and offers an extensive wine list. During my last visit, I had a wonderful young eco red blend from Montsant. I’d highly recommend this place! - just off the busy main street, next to plaza España.

Searching for a Spanish dinner in a different neighborhood we found ourselves on a block of Chinese restaurants. We were tired of searching and hungry and walked into this one. What good luck! The best Chinese food we have ever had. 2 noodle dishes with wonderful flavors. We plan to return soon.

I absolutely loved this place. We tried most things on the menu and weren’t disappointed with a single dish. The waitress that served us (I didn’t get her name) was also absolutely fantastic and added to our experience

The food was phenomenal. I've never had a more tender piece of meat. Unfortunately the service was disappointing. I understand our reservation was 15 minutes prior to the famous siesta in Spain. But if I'm allowed and able to make a reservation at 15:45 (we arrived 5 minutes early), I would assume the service to be as good as earlier in the day. We were not told during ordering that the kitchen would close shortly after, so we were left hungry and wanting to order more, but were not allowed to do so. The experience lasted just under an hour. The three stars go solely to the food experience, as it was top notch. The service, however, was unprofessional, rushed, inattentive, and indifferent.

Yelp
Outstanding Asian fusion food. It's a nice reprieve from traditional Spanish and Basque cuisine if you're looking to mix it up a bit because it infuses Chinese and Spanish flavors. Order to share, and order a variety of options. I didn't have a bad portion of food!

Yelp
This place was a life saver for me. I was in DESPERATE need of some Asian food after having Spanish food for a whole week, and this place definitely delivered. My favorite dish of all were the wontons and chili crab. The service and staff were also great and attentive.
