1 star for service. Educardo and the concierge are amazing!!! Very attentive. Very ready to make the experience perfect. When I was waiting for the UBER, the concierge didn’t even let me walk away from the door and went to direct my UBER to the restaurant because the area away from the restaurant is not safe.
1 star for the crab starter.
Starter: The gyoza starter has good flavour profile. But some of the vegetables were heavily salted and the last of the gyoza had tons of peanuts whereas the first two had almost none?! That completely disrupted the entire texture experience of the dish. Not to mention having to mix the vegetables together to avoid having a mouthful of salt which is not fatal but it is annoying to self compensate for a dish at a supposedly top restaurant.
Main: Where do I even start about the DISASTER that is the main dish. The first fish dish: the fish was cooked perfectly, tender and soft. But every other accompaniment was overly salted, from the mushrooms to the furikake to the sauce. When I received the remake, it was just as inedible. THE SALT OVERPOWERS ALL OTHER FLAVOURS.
Educardo then suggested another fish dish. The second fish dish arrived with the center UNDERCOOKED and the top parts of the broccoli mushy. When asked, I was told that this is how the restaurant prepares the fish which by the way, did not happen in the first fish dish that was soft and tender?!?? The second fish dish was better in terms of salt management but the disgrace that is the fish preparation was remarkable.
Suffice to say, I was so upset about the main dish (which I paid for) that I refused to even have dessert.
Summarily, the flavour profiles of the dishes are promising and some isolated parts of the dishes along with the service are good. Serious potential but execution is embarrassing.
BUT I do not understand how this restaurant got on the TOP 50 restaurants of LATAM. Peru, Colombia, Chile etc… got it right, so WHAT HAPPENED HERE?!
My recommendation: Try the restaurant at your own risk, if you like enjoy playing russian roulette. (I was contemplating eating the granola bar from my bag after the fish disaster.)
