Restaurante Murakami

We had a lovely lunch here. Sitting at the counter lets us watch the chef work up close, which add up a genuine appreciation for the craft. We ordered both the sushi and sashimi sets featuring the best fish of the day, incredibly fresh across the board. A big highlight was the Hokkaido hotate carpaccio. The scallops were ocean-sweet and buttery, and the ponzu lifted the flavour beautifully. The miso soup was also outstanding, rich umami with real depth. An absolute must try. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and precise. The minimalist décor mirrors the food perfectly. Nothing distracting, just a clear focus on quality ingredients and technique. Mr. Murakami is incredibly charismatic, and his passion comes through immediately. Hearing his story made the meal even more memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back to try their dinner, hot or cold omakase someday!

Murakami is incredible! The head chef is incredibly friendly and they're able to adapt their amazing omakase menu for vegetarians as well. One of the very few places I've been able to go that accommodates normal omakase and vegetarian side by side. The flavors and ambiance are incredible, and the chefs and service staff are the best. Highly recommend and worth a trip to São Paulo all by itself.

Loved this restaurant! Chef Tsuyoshi greeted us so warmly and was very charming and attentive during our visit with excellent recommendations. We sat at the counter and loved the attention to detail of the kitchen preparation team. The food was absolutely outstanding, it's among the best Japanese food I've had outside Japan and was probably my favourite meal in Brazil (we preferred it to D.O.M. & Tuju though those restaurants give very different experiences). It's expensive for Brazil, but excellent value compared to an equivalent London restaurant. Highly recommend!

Amazing taste and fresh sushi 🍣. Easy to walk in and great ambience. Chef is very articulate and plating was excellent.

Gourmet experience in every way! Sushi is popular in São Paulo, from inexpensive all you can eat to better à la carte restaurants in Asia Town and elsewhere. We tried some of them during our week visiting the town but none compare to the gourmet sushi dinner we had at Murakami. From the welcoming and attentive staff to the modern decor, the stage was set for an unforgettable Michelin star experience. And that chef Tsuyoshi and his team delivered. After savoring 18 items plus dessert and tea, we left satisfied in quality and quantity. Yes, it’s a pricey evening compared to others, but if you can afford it, we suggest you try it.

What a fantastic experience. Once you step off the busy São Paulo street you enter an oasis of calmness and tranquility. The interior decoration is modern minimalism a real sign that they let the food do the talking. The quality of the sushi is very high and the flavors are exceptional. Would highly recommend to any sushi lovers out there.
