Casa Palacio Maria Luisa Review | Hotels Above Par

"Housed in a front-facing room that opens both to the main square and the hotel lobby, this restaurant pairs a jewel-box, opulent look—velvet chairs, fringed table lamps, and plump cushions—with a cozy, intimate feel. Chef Verónica Muñoz builds a seasonal menu from Andalusian ingredients, using traditional techniques and updated presentation; on the autumn and winter menu, plates include generous burrata on roasted eggplant, red tuna tartare “Gadira” with bok choy, and squid stuffed with lobster. The wine list leans into Spanish classics and highlights Jerez’s sherries, from finos and manzanillas to olorosos and Pedro Ximénez, making it a stylish spot for regionally rooted, contemporary dining." - Katie Monk

Too bad! Very good reviews, but the service and the food was not what I expect from a 5-Star-Hotel-Restaurant. Service was not good, forgot about next wines etc. at the end there were 2 bottles instead of 2 glasses on the bill. No excuse or so. Even not Good Bye, they already knew we don't come again. The food was prepared and presented with love, excluding the bone with shrimp. That was great! No sides or decorations on the plate. Easy kitchen, but not 5 ⭐. I guess the employees don't like their job very much.

What a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, the environment and ambience just magical. We will absolutely revisit. It was incredibly difficult to choose from the menu as there was so much to offer; the taste of each dish and each course was superb. The starters of fois gras, steak tartare and shrimp tartare were simply divine and really stood out for us. Please do try the restaurant, it’s worth it.

This is certainly a pretty venue albeit small. My salted anchovy on a sweet brioche finger was the star of the food. Delightful. However my short ribs beef, outside of the well seasoned and caramelised outside, was strangely flavourless - as if the meat had been frozen at some stage. No beefy flavour at all. My wife’s squid was tender but over powered by the prawn mousse filling. Her mushroom risotto was very large for a starter and we found the mushroom overpowering. Good server team though a formal service

The food is creative and delicious. Excellent and attentive service. The atmosphere is upscale and the interior is well decorated. The restaurant is attached to a nice hotel, which may seem off-putting to some, but it shouldn't deter you. I enjoyed the zucchini ravioli starter and the sea bass with sweet potato main course. The chef came out to meet us after our meal, which was a nice touch. I would definitely go back again.
