"Housed in the Triglav hotel in a superb location in the foothills around beautiful Lake Bled, this restaurant offers fine views from its brightly lit dining room and delightful summer terrace. The hotel opened in 1906 and the restaurant reflects over a century of culinary tradition, serving reinterpretations of typical Slovenian specialities, often adding typical French sauces and jus to its dishes. A small vegan menu is also available." - Michelin Inspector

Lake Bled, an enchanting location and enticing haute cuisine

"Set within the historic Hotel Triglav and named for the year the property first opened, this lakeside dining room marries old-world charm with a contemporary, homely spirit. Reopened in 2009 by owners Danja and Zdravko Rus, it looks to the past as much as the present: chef Aleš Fende draws inspiration from a trove of preserved house recipes (especially in winter), while Food & Beverage Manager Danijel Galjot—an astute sommelier and mixologist with a particular eye for gin pairings and the author of a book on the subject—guides the experience. The modern, varied menu stays honest in flavour with home-made pasta, ravioli, soups and pâtés, and showcases specialities such as smoked trout aspic, smoked tongue, and the 1906 soup of dried porcini, chanterelles, Kranjska sausage and buckwheat. Tasting menus run from three to eight courses, balancing light, fresh plates like hazelnut soup with chestnuts and truffles and nettle parfait with lardo and egg yolk with broader, cross‑influenced recipes, exemplified by a Mediterranean‑tinged amberjack fillet with home‑made ravioli and mandarin whose citrus notes add real character. Once a host to figures like Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the house remains one of the hotel’s key attractions." - La Guida Michelin

Innovative food, warm appetizer was delicious, while duck breast was on of the best I’ve ever had! Get a table with a view, breathtaking!

The food was presented beautifully. We have been to many local Slovenian restaurants, Michelin guide places and Michelin star restaurants and we were excited to try out this restaurant that is on the Michelin guide. However, we were very disappointed with the “Highland” menu. They served us crumbs with water. The marinated trout didn’t seem to be marinated at all, it tasted like raw fish and nothing else. The fish dish supposed to have hints of balsamic and apricot but all it could be tasted was the raw fish. The porcini ice cream was the worse thing we had, needed to rush back to our room to wash our mouths, the after taste was not pleasant. They were serving the next dish before cleaning the plates from the previous serving. At some point our table was full of dirty dishes and silverware. The other dishes were ok, but nothing memorable. I believe the restaurant and chef put a lot of work and dedication to craft a nice experience and we just happened to run into not their optimal experiment, which happens.

This is a very special restaurant the view of lake bled is spectacular. We stayed at the hotel so had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. For breakfast you can choose as many dishes made to order on the menu as you please, every one I tried was lovely. For lunch and dinner it is a tasting menu. For dinner you can choose how many courses.

We arrived to this amazing view, we weren’t too hungry so we went for the 3 dishes each menu. Although there wasn’t much selection beyond that. I don’t eat fish so I ordered what wasn’t fish from the menu. The duck soup was amazing with deep flavors. There were some highs and lows, the best part was the dessert (apple strudel). Overall we had a good time but we weren’t blown away.

I ate breakfast and dinner here twice and have zero complaints, only compliments to the kitchen and wait staff. It was a great experience! The menu is carefully curated and the plating is beautiful. The wait staff takes the time to explain each dish to you. They're also great at helping you pair local wine with your meal.

The food was decent (apart from the fish fillet that was bland and dry) but definitely not worth the price tag. You can visit for the view but don't expect a proper fine dining experience. To make it all the more awkward, there was a mistake in the bill and it took the waiter 15 minutes to correct it.

A lovely restaurant in Hotel Triglav, worth the very steep walk to the restaurant from Lake Bled. Great service. Local food, an innovative vegan menu is also available. I was blown away by the vegan starter of almond ricotta on a nori cracker. However, some of the other dishes (we also are off the non vegan menu) were not quite as exceptional, such as the Zander fillet which was a bit dry, or the baby potatoes which were lacking slightly in flavour. However, overall an enjoyable meal.

We had breakfast here everyday of our stay. The food was excellent! Their dinner service was also delicious and left us very satisfied. This was a great way to end our last night in Bled!
