The Best Restaurants in Montreal’s La Petite-Patrie | Eater Montreal

"The Salvadoran-style pupusas (thick, griddled, and stuffed masa harina corn pancakes) at Los Planes come in a variety of vegetarian or meat fillings and appear next to other Central American snacks such as tacos, enchiladas, or tamales. Diners can forego the pupusas and head straight to Los Planes’ mains, like grilled seafood or steak — make sure to order some horchata, a classic rice, cinnamon, and vanilla drink to wash it all down. All available for takeout or delivery on DoorDash." - Eater Staff

16 Top Restaurants for Affordable Latin American Food in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"In the heart of the Plateau, Los Planes is one of the most recognized stops for authentic and delicious Salvadoran cuisine, including pupusas – particularly the revuelta con frijoles – as well as tamales, chicharron, and fried plantains. The horchata and tamarind juices seal the deal." - Dahlia Snaiderman

Checked out Los Planes, a Salvadoran spot, on a slow Monday evening. Service was friendly. Love the massive curtido containers on the table. - Horchata ($4.00) - typical - Maracuya ($4.00) - passionfruit was decent - Tamarindo ($4.00) - not very sour. Skip it - 2 Pupusas y yuca frita ($15.50) - opted for the chicharron and loca pupusas. Pork was excellent. Yucca was dry - Enchiladas verde ($21.00) - three chicken enchiladas. Decent but salsa verde was bland - Chuleta de cerdo ($22.00) - sausage and pork chop were good. Liked the plantains, plain rice

The pupusas and horchata here are absolutely incredible. The only downside is that the food takes a while to arrive, but it’s definitely worth the wait. The space is also small, so it can be a bit annoying when people leave the restroom doors open since they’re really close to the tables.

A very excellent Salvadoran restaurant with some Mexican picks on the menu as well. Service was warm and professional. Food was delicious and affordable. Comfortable atmosphere to eat in. I saw the owner comitt a good deed, a homeless man came in begging and she gave him a free meal.

The pupusas are delicious and they come in a generous portion, prices are really cheap compared to other places, I love the fact they have several packages which allow you to try different things at once. The tamal was not what I expected, but it's a different way to make it.

Solid 4 stars. Food is pretty good, price is reasonable. Only thing is that the service was incredibly slow. i never though dining a quick lunch with a simple combo meal would have taken almost 2 hours.

I've never had Salvadoran food, and I loved it! The pupusa was delicious. I definitely have to come back.

Everything about this place was delicious. I had 2 pupusas with platanos con frijoles y crema! Accompanied with my favorite horchata. Service was good and welcoming. Also prices are very reasonable
