Il Ponte

"Just a stone’s throw from the centre, this elegant restaurant boasts a beautiful dining room with a veranda and stylish furnishings which play with a blue-and-yellow colour scheme. The modern cuisine is inspired by the Mediterranean and local traditions, coupled with the occasional imaginative touch. Excellent desserts, an attractive outdoor space, plus a kitchen which is open non-stop from midday to dinner." - Michelin Inspector

I dined here approximately a month ago with some friends and had really high hopes as it was noted to be one of ‘the best restaurant’s’ in Trogir as well as having a well known chef in the kitchen however, we were all left quite disappointed.. The dishes themselves had lots of potential and were beautifully presented but unfortunately they were hit and miss. The warm appetiser ‘Jacob’ was the only dish served that was absolutely on point, the remaining dishes lacked refinement, restraint and some dishes were plain and simply bland. The Langoustine was too chuncky with no accompanying or complimentary elements on the plate to add any flavour . The Tuna was also cut too thick however, this dish came with some complimentary elements which made the Tuna more palatable and enjoyable than the Langoistine. The fish fillet was Ok however, the parsnip purée and barely were terrible, zero flavour and the portion size completely overwhelmed the plate. The lamb was tasteless and one of the biggest disappointments of the evening. The Pasta was perhaps the only saving grace as the flavours of the ragu were delicious and the reversing of the elements was a little bit of fun. The desserts were mainly deconstructed blah blah blah. All the white wine that was served was not cold enough by any means which took away the joy on a hot summers evening once you had to wait for it to cool in the ice bucket. The atmosphere was quite lovely and the staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, we were disappointed but there is plenty of potential.

The MICHELIN Guide delivered another delicious meal, with a delightful blend of traditional and Italian modern cuisine. The service was attentive and well-versed in regional wines, offering expert recommendations and pairings. Thanks to the il Ponte team for a memorable meal.

We visited as a family with the intention to try the 5 courses menu. The menu was a mix between traditional local cuisine, modern elements, and a personal touch by the chef. It was well put together with attention to the details and high quality ingredients. The service was good, friendly, and professional. The prices are fair. Nothing on the menu is overpriced. I'll be visiting again. Visited few moths later quality was still the same. The service has improved. The atmosphere has improved as well - we had live piano music. The prices have changed, compared to other countries, and even to other restaurants in town, Il Ponte is still surprisingly inexpensive. One must not forget following facts: educated waiters, regional and organic products, wild caught fish, modern and still authentic culinary creations, and a Michelin Start. The beef tartar was heavenly, the lobster with homemade pasta was fantastic. Everything else was great.

Everything is exceptionally tasty. Presentation is on point. I mostly liked the dessert because it had a kick in flavours and textures. Would definitely come back. Also, staff is extremely nice and explains everything to the smallest detail. Hvala vam puno! I’d only say that there could be a little touch on the interior design to distract the public from the surrounding parking.

Best restaurant in Trogir. We were lucky to be here when they had a special night with the top5 participators from Master Chef Croatia. They had a exclusive menu with wine pairing created by 4 of the chefs from Master Chef. The dishes were very creative, well plated and tasted amazing. Service through the evening was perfect and the wines were only Croatian and great!

Excellent example how you can present Croatian food in a different style. And keep it perfect! I would recommend it to everyone who wants to try local tastes presented in a new way. Also, do not be afraid, it is almost fine dining, but price performance (and portions size) is more on a larger side. Their steak Tartar is signature dish and I can fully recommend it. Combine fish dishes with it and you will get Croatia in a nutshell within one meal. Nice cocktails, but I was pleasantly surprised when asked for white wine, they recommend Bogdanusha, local sort which goes perfect with a fish. Not lot of places has it. Treat yourself with this experience, as it is one. Also, as mentioned price performance is very good. My big plus to them!

Simply put, the medley of fish starter was the best fish I've ever had in my life. It really was that good. I'd highly recommend this place.
