Retro Boat Rentals DC

I booked a rental for my mom’s bday. She had a ball! Boat was easy to drive for someone who’s never drove one. Just make sure you’re paying attention. Also Nick was great! Great experience overall :)

We had a fantastic experience with Retro Boat Rentals last week. Charlie was there to greet us at the meeting point. We were 15 minutes early. He gave us a quick run down of the boat and off we went! The vintage electric boats was incredibly easy to operate, making for a calm and intimate cruise on the water. We were able to bring food and drinks which made it even better ! WiFi speakers was provided so we played our favorite tunes. The weather was perfect. Nice views of the wharf and a lovely sunset to end the ride. A truly unique and memorable experience! It was wonderful experience. It was the first time we did with family. Definitely recommend. We will visit next time for sure.

We drove in from out of town for a friend’s birthday, only to discover the boat we reserved—the Gladys—was unavailable. The staff waited until we were about to board to tell us it had been out of service “for a while,” dismissively adding, “Oh, I thought you knew.” Instead, we were given an boat that only allowed sitting (as apposed to The Gladys that allowed standing which would be better for us since we have allot of tall guys in our group), with a cracked and poorly secured windshield that made navigation troublesome. Customer service was promised to contact us while on the ride but never followed up, despite hours passing. When we requested a direct number, the associate hesitated to provide it and did so begrudgingly. Even after calling, no one returned our call. The entire experience felt careless and unprofessional, disrupting birthday plans and leaving us with a product different than what we paid for. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Nick was ahmazing!! Super cool & very informative. Only bummer was that we couldnt cruise over to Georgetown area. But that ok- we had a great time.

A perfect 10/10 experience! Glen went above and beyond to make our rental smooth, fun, and unforgettable. The retro boat was a total head-turner—we had people waving and shouting compliments as we cruised along. Even without prior boating experience, I felt like a captain out there thanks to how easy everything was to operate. Most importantly, I proposed on this boat—and it couldn’t have been a more magical setting. Calm waters, vintage vibes, and an intimate space made it the perfect spot to pop the question. If you’re looking for a unique date, celebration, or just want to feel like a boss on the water, this is the place. Highly recommend!

I had such a great time with Retro Boat Rentals! The electric vintage boats were beautiful, easy to navigate, and made for such a peaceful, intimate ride along the water. It was so quiet and relaxing — perfect for a date night or hanging out with friends to avoid finals. The whole experience was great, from how easy it was to book how communicative the staff was. Being out on the water with the city in the background was amazing, and the vintage vibe made it even better. Definitely a unique and memorable experience. Shout out to Glen too! He is very kind and patient.

Had a great time on the water, when the drizzle of rain disappeared it got even better. The boat was easy to operate and didn't take any prior experience, it's like driving a car but on water! Not sure how different it is from bigger boats because I haven't done either but I can confirm driving this one is easy if you have an hesitations.

We had such a great time hanging out on the water tonight. The weather was perfect for it. My hunnie shared he stumbled across this place online and being that we love hanging out in the water decided to give this a try. My husband was our captain which provided a romantic intimate evening for just us two. I was tasked to bring my favorite wine/champagne I like to sip along with some snacks and all & all it was an AWESOME time. Not to mention you're at the wharf so afterwards there's plenty dining options for you. We would definitely do this again!
