Not sure why the reviews aren't better - I went for an early dinner at the bar and the food was great! I ordered the Vegan Rigatoni - and it was great! Before I started eating vegan - pot roast was one of my favorite things - and this pasta had nuances of pot roast which was absolutely delicious! The presentation was great in the classic bowl - and the mushroom hay was a bit chewy - but mixing it with the sauce gave it the perfect texture. Overall great experience - highly recommend.

The retro atmosphere is super nostalgic for millennials. Drinks were good! The food was just ok. The general tso escargot was delish but the risotto that came with it was not. The Voltaggios spaghettios appetizer was good but not for $30+. My lobster thermador was inedible it was so fishy tasting. My husband enjoyed his pot roast. Overall overpriced but a cool spot.

I loved this place. The decor was absolutely right on point based off its name of the restaurant. The atmosphere and decor brought me back to my childhood years. The wait staff was amazing.. Let’s talk about the food. The food was absolutely AMAZING! I got the mashed potatoes and it taste just like my grandmas.. the Mac and cheese was the best I ever had.. they took the food from the decades and elevated it. I would definitely try this place when you visit. The desserts where spot on not to sweet but not to bitter.. just right. The cheese cake was so perfectly made and the strawberries and this tasteful glaze in it.. The portions of every was the perfect size. I highly recommended this place if you want to go back in time! The little chicken pot pies where made to perfection!! Everything we had was delicious!!

A blast into the past! The atmosphere takes you right back to an 80’s childhood complete with corn dogs and Spaghetti Os. The food was tasty but left us hungry after. The service was great and we enjoyed playing with the toys after our meal!

I was excited to try Retro. Fun 80’s decor and music. As a Vegas local I have high expectations for the restaurants on the strip. The menu was fairly limited in selections. I was expecting a few more pasta dishes. My husband and I both had appetizers - Caesars salad and Chips & Guacamole. The salad was excellent especially the Parmesan churros. The chips and guacamole was awful. Rice chip is one big piece with half a avocado and green goddess drizzled over it. No taste for the rice chip and it left an awful aftertaste. My husband ordered the Wagyu Beef Roast and I got the VolaggiO’s which had a a great tasting meatball and tasted just like Spaghettio’s. The Beef Roast had 4 small portions of beef, 2 baby carrots and pearl onions for $54.00. It was good but not something I would order again. No bread was served with the pasta. I enjoyed the key lime dessert. Overall I was disappointed in the meal. When I asked our waiter about some of the entrees his English was very limited and he had a hard time explaining any of the dishes. I really wanted to enjoy it but left disappointed

Taking a step back into the time, with creative food and some classic 80's & 90's memorabilia. Have to note that the service staff was super friendly and genuinely seemed to care about the experience. Menu items are shareable. They encourage it. You can easily fill up on the starters and appetizers. The Pepperoni Rolls are a winner. We also tried the Chicken Pot Pie. We chose two mains; the Wagyu Pot Roast and the Sole. The Sole Meuniere was exceptionally flavored and was swimming in brown butter. One of the mains could have been shared by two people. We also got the mashed potatoes, which were quite good. In the end, we were stuffed and couldn't try one of the creative desserts. Prices are on the higher end. Overall, it was a fun night out.

Edit: 2/3/24. Went from a 5 to a solid 3 for food. Again, I'm a huge fan of the voltaggio's, but I'm disappointed in the menu changes and the food. We had the lobster Thermador, fries, and the chicken pot pocket. The fries are thick cut, but we're undercooked and came out cold. The chicken pot pocket had good flavor, and I love the idea of it being like a hot pocket. The problem was it came out cold... it was nice and flaky. The lobster Thermador was was also cold, and I wasn't very impressed with it. Jay our server was great. Considering this restaurant is only there for 1 year, they did a great job with the decor and music. Definitely felt like a throwback, and it was great. If they wanted to stay longer than 1 year, I highly recommend changing up the seating. I love that the plates look just like paper plates, brought me right back to growing up in the 80's! We sat at the bar, and Sal was our bartender. He answered my incessant question about the voltaggio brothers and the transition from areole to retro. (Huge fan of Michael Voltaggio on food network, looking forward to trying more of his creations). I was pleased to hear that the majority of the staff was kept on. Sal was with areole for 24 years before the transition to retro. Talk about dedication! He was very attentive, and the service was 10 out of 10! Definitely will go back to chat with Sal. As for the food, we ordered the Voltaggio's, a spin-off of spaghettio's. The noodles are made in-house and were perfectly al dente. The meatball blew my mind, seasoned to perfection, and had great texture. The sauce is similar to the canned spaghettio's but elevated. I would love to do a side by side *blind* taste test of the sauce to see the similarity. Overall, we had an exceptional experience, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be going back to try the chicken and dumplings.

Google
We gave Retro by Voltaggio a try today and I’m glad that we did. The service was excellent from start to finish. One person in our party was in a motorized wheel chair and staff was very helpful in accommodating our party. Alfredo was our server and he did a great job of explaining the concept and all the offerings on the menu. All of the food was presented well and was put together with a unique flare in true Las Vegas fashion. The food was very tasty and I especially enjoyed the VoltaggioO’s a creative play on your childhood favorite spaghetti O’s. All of the desserts were delicious as well and my favorite of those was the cheesecake crème brûlée. I will however give them a few dings. There is certainly opportunity for them to add more 80’s and 90’s decor, it felt like it was an after thought. The other ding is that they charge for soda refills, that is a bit ridiculous. Especially when you are already paying the premium for the food. Overall it was a great experience that I would recommend.

Yelp
I became a fan of Michael Voltaggio on the various food network competition food. Honestly, that should be an olympic sport! Winter or summer though? IDK, I just like to eat it so it don't matter. Once we confirmed we were staying at the Delano again, we knew we were going to eat here. We made a reservation but it wasn't overly packed on a June Tuesday. It's in the old Aureole location on Restaurant Row at Mandalay Bay and some signage says it may may be a limited engagement so if you want to give it a try, go sooner than later. The Voltaggios (the dish, not the brothers) were simply amazing. I grew up eating crappy canned Spaghettio's and somehow, they made this version great, while still capturing the essence of that orange crappy sauce! I loved it even though I can't stand the smell of the "real" version any more. And like Spaghettios, it's better without the meatballs. The Voltaggio meatball was a little overcooked and dry, so much like the "real" version. The Blue Crab Pop Tart was also pretty good. It was loaded with lots of crab and the flakey crust paired well with it all. It was kind of like a crab empanada if that helps. It was also pricey, as were the other items. The Schnitzel was good, but not great. It was kinda thick which defeats the point of Schnitzel. The Spaetzel wasn't all that great either. Dessert wise, it was hit or miss. The Berry Twinkie thingie was full of flavor but the rest weren't really that great. Honestly, I'd rather have a real Twinkie, a real Devil Dog and a real S'Mores. If you're going to re-invent them, make them better. We debated on giving it another try on this trip, but too many other choices while in Las Vegas. I would have just ordered the Voltaggios and called it a day if we returned. But for almost $40, they weren't that great.

Yelp
I would be interested in trying the dinning experience again this weekend. Thank you for your offer.

Yelp
Located inside mandolin Bay hotel, and casino This restaurant has a retro interior design. What a whole bunch of old games and items from my childhood. So A+ for that they had a prefix option, which I did get came with a a few very delicious items that I did not take pictures of all of them. It was a party of 10 of us so was a little hard for me to take pictures but we did get their devil egg, avocado toast.

Yelp
Rounding up to 4 since the 4 course $99 pre fixe is an amazing deal looking at the prices of everything on the menu. Less thinking of what to choose, and some solid options there as well. Initially I didn't care to go here because the menu didn't seem wow to me, but hearing how great and seeing how great the Voltaggio brothers are on various cooking competitions, and pure curiosity, we decided to give this place a try. The interior brings back so many memories and it's a fun atmosphere for nostalgia and a neat place to bring kids if they deserve expensive food and to play with toys during with their meal. The food... let's talk about the food. We all decided to do the pre fixe $99 four course dinner. Combos we got were - Pepperoni rolls, Caesar salad, steak frites, and cookies n creme. Deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, sole, and creme brûlée cheesecake. Pepperoni rolls, Caesar salad, voltaggiOs, and cookies n creme. We all shared. Pepperoni rolls were good, but wasn't that impressive. Some said it lacked the pepperoni. I could use more cheese. The marinara sauce it came with was a must. So good that we asked for more for other stuff. Deviled eggs were interesting. Foamy-ish texture with a thin layer of hard boiled egg white. Caesar salad came with the take on croutons which was a parmasan churro like item. Didn't taste like much, so you can add that to the salad itself or dip it in the requested marinara. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the shrimp was a tad over cooked. Standard cocktail sauce. Good shrimp chips with seasoning to go with it. Steak looked really good, and it was cooked mostly well at the requested medium rare. A bit chewy at parts. Ok flavors. The sole was really good. A couple of us liked that one more than the steak! The voltaggiOs was a meatball (dry imo) with pasta, their take on the spaghettiOs. Not really a fan of that. Cookies n creme wasn't really a big hit at our table. Creme brûlée cheesecake was better. Nice brûlée part on top. Glad we tried, now we know. Looks fun and service was good. Drinks we got were yummy as well. I def enjoyed my appletini! The food itself wasn't as great as we thought it would be, but considering name and what it was, the $99 four course was a good deal.

Yelp
While staying at Mandalay Bay I visited four of the big restaurants, this was one of them. They all have some similar things in common, one being they were all super loud whether from the music, people, or just plain bad acoustics. Not great for business dinners! Another theme running was caviar and truffles, all the restaurants seemed to have dishes with these elements. Another thing was dusting, little piles of colored dust put semi-artistically on the plates, seasonings perhaps but it didn't do anything for me and who wants to eat dust crumbs. I did the $99 tasting menu and enjoyed everything. I also had the cosmopolitan with Prosecco which tasted mostly like Prosecco. I would have preferred a big bright 80's pink drink. Service was fine. The decor in the restaurant was sort of brown and 70's, it was reminiscent of the Nut Tree of years ago in Vacaville, CA. The whole retro theme was good but seemed slightly lacking somehow, at least that was the consensus of my group.

Yelp
We managed to get the last reservation of the night, so we basically had the place to ourselves! The waitstaff was still helpful and attentive, and even brought us a free dessert that they had in addition to the lava cake we ordered! I got the sense that this restaurant is still in an experimental phase, as it doesn't feel fully "moved in" yet, but it has awesome potential. They have made good use of the old space, with an entire table full of 80's games and toys to play with as you wait. We had fun playing Connect 4 and unsuccessfully attempting a Rubix Cube! Our meal was delish! I loved the retro Pyrex bakeware, the creative plating, and the modern take on old favorites. The mac n' cheese and chicken & dumplings were standouts for us - true comfort favorites. The pepperoni rolls were bomb! Only the lava cake fell short - kinda dry and not so much lava-ish. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience from beginning to end.

Yelp
OMG. Leave it to the Voltaggio brothers to really take me down memory lane. I absolutely loved their spin on old classics! Not a single bite was wasted and everything was outstanding. I wish that they had the pre fixe courses when we went, but this may be a good reason to come back! Go with friends, share a bunch of items, leave with a full tummy and heart. The one downside is that area where the tables were felt more cafeteria-esque but maybe that's what they were going for? I wish the dining room had a smidge more personality that the entrance certainly sets you up for.

Yelp
Gag me with a spoon! The only restaurant in the past five years that served me something I needed to spit out for fear of throwing up (deviled egg). A throwback with food authentic to the 1980's. Eat my shorts! 1. No molecular gastronomy or modernist cuisine the chefs are known for. 2. A poor interpretation of 1980's food. The deviled eggs, gnarly. The yolk filling, oily, disgusting, concoction that seriously taste like someone added loads of cheese substitute starting with a V and ending, well you know. Revolting. Further what they claim was caviar were finely cut chives. The chicken pot pie, lacks any moisture. The Chinese have made soup dumplings since forever, duh. Big whoop. Their take on Speghetti-O's fails on the sauce. The meatball, filler filled and the pasta grossly overcooked as they should be if mimicking the canned product but the tomato sauce is extremely soupy and sour. Bizarre. A hella bad, overly sweet old fashioned. A long island iced tea with odd tasting herbaceous notes (just use Coke not make your own). Stick to wine. Well chosen list with typical high Vegas resort markup. Service, radical. Servers really try their best to make a great experience but cannot salvage the experience. Maybe I need to take a chill pill but whoa, a wannabe that misses the mark. Disappointing.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow! First, let me start off by saying I was born in the '80's and remember this era like yesterday. The decor is very nostalgic, but more importantly, the food was EXCELLENT! Lots of choices on the menu and it's served family-style. Plenty of food to go around and the taste? Taste is superb! Ricky was our server and he was superb! The service was fast and all around, I would return to try other menu items as there were so many choices!

Yelp
I love the retro concept. The decor brought me back to my younger years. I laughed at the banana seat bike and the different types of cell phones throughout the years. I don't remember our servers name, but he was nice but soft-spoken. I could barely hear him speak. However, someone else stopped by our table. She was nice. Food: Ceviche (Tuna) Chicken Pot Pie Pimento Cheese VoltaggiO's Sole Meuniere We ended up returning the chichiron that came with the Pimento Cheese because it was stale. The Chicken Pot Pie was good. Not what I'm used to. It was made with croquettes. I was not a fan of Voltaggio. Trust me, I love Spaghettio's growing up. The presentation was fun (served from a can), but there was nothing elevated about this dish. The highlight was the Tuna made with coconut crushed ice. The tuna and ice just melts in your mouth. The Sole was equally as delcious. The brown butter and arugula went so well together. Overall, I would return again, but this time, I'd tell my friends to dress up in 80s attire.

Yelp
I can't say enough about my experience at Retro! I went here for my birthday and I am a big fan of the Voltaggio brothers from watching them on Top Chef. I came in with high expectations and left satisfied! I'm definitely a 90s kid and seeing all the retro nostalgia scattered around the restaurant made me smile. The decor down to the faux paper plates is phenomenal. I loved everything! The food was also very good. Let's just start with the VoltaggiO's: OMG, perfection! The caprese salad was also great. I tried some of my friends dishes too and didn't have any that I didn't like. Definitely is a pricey restaurant, but it's expected on the strip. The only thing I wish was that the Voltaggio brothers were there when I was so I could have met them. But other than that, loved my experience there.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to dinning at Retro by Voltaggio since I read about it in the RJ. Last night (2/13/24), we finally got our chance. We were greeted warmly by the hostesses at the front desk and then again by the hostess that seated us on the dinning room floor. Our server, was good, but failed to really communicate how the menu is designed. The appetizers are meant to be family style but they are big enough to have as a main dish, if you share an appetizer, then order an entree. Our appetizers were Deviled Eggs with caviar, for me it was (as was most of the meal) in need a some spice, the caviar was the only salt and it was buried underneath the whipped yolks. We also had the General Tao's escargot, it was very good. Not too spicy and the dashi rice was tasty. For the main dish I had the VoltaggiO's, nice presentation pouring the Os out of a can. The Os had a nice taste but once again lacked any real flavor or spice and was served warm. The meatball, was very dense and had a rubbery texture to it. At one point I had to see if it was cooked through, it was. I could only eat half of it and I felt like the meatball just weighted me down. The other main was the Trout Meuniere, two thin trout fillets and a heaping pile of arugula on top, good but have had better (Black Sheep restaurant by Chef Jamie Tran). When it came for dessert, our server came by with a platter, he pointed, named each one but gave no description, just made it seem very lackluster and uninteresting. We both decided on the s'mores doughnut, which was very good. The doughnut was fresh and the chocolate pastry cream filling was not too sweet, probably offset by the meringue top. Overall we were disappointed in this very overpriced meal, yes we did expect better from these two star chefs. We said to each other, as we were leaving, that this restaurant felt like an after thought. With these Chef's very busy schedules it felt like they threw together a menu giving no real love or dining experience that the Voltaggio brothers are known for.

Yelp
My husband and I watch a lot of Food Network and Michael Voltaggio is someone we've seen quite a bit on shows. I've always thought his food was so creative and out of the box. My husband and I recently went to Vegas for a mini honeymoon and saw a sign for Retro by Voltaggio. We booked reservations for the next day and were so excited to try the food! My husband and I ordered two dishes each to share. My husband went the more nostalgic food route and ordered the Pepperoni Rolls and VoltaggiOs (a nod to SpaghettiOs) and I went the more upscale route and got the Ceviche and the Sole Meunière. We both agreed the absolute star was the Ceviche. But don't expect your standard shrimp, tomatoes, and cucumbers because this ain't it. The dish was so flavorful. Every bite had savory, umami, acidic, and sweet notes. The tuna was fresh, the coconut ice was so interesting and melted in your mouth, and I thought the fried strips of nori was a good vehicle to pile everything onto. When I've said in the past that I wanted to try Michael Voltaggio's food, THIS deconstructed, creative masterpiece is exactly what I was hoping for! We also got the Pepperoni Rolls and the VoltaggiOs. We loved the nostalgic feel to the dishes. Seeing the tin can that SpaghettiOs were served in and having the elevated VoltaggiOs poured onto the dish was a fun touch. I've never had Sole Meunière, but have seen it on Food Network a lot. I think this version was slightly different, but was interesting to try. At the end of the meal, they gave us a little goodie bag with nostalgic candy cigarettes, Pop Rocks, spider rings, and some other retro treats. Improvements: The restaurant is new, so I think a little grace should be given when it comes to service. Our service was a little odd. Our server wasn't rude by any means, but just seemed a little inexperienced. He didn't introduce himself, but peeked his head around our booth and asked if we wanted water. Nothing was really explained to us about the main dishes and when it came time for dessert, he tossed the menu on the table, said "XXX dessert is good," and then left. (Also, this is just me being greedy, but I saw that other reviewers received complimentary desserts. I kiiiiind of thought we may get one since I marked this was our honeymoon when I booked reservations. But staff didn't mention anything about our honeymoon and alas, no free dessert haha. They do give those goodie bags though to everyone, so that is a plus.) Overall: I think it was a fun place to go, especially if you're familiar with the Voltaggio brothers. The restaurant's decor was like a retro museum and walking into the place is an experience itself. Definitely try the ceviche if you want to try a dish that (to me) was a classic, deconstructed, supremely creative Voltaggio dish. See

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Michael Voltaggio, especially Ink and Ink Sack back in the day in Los Angeles. I was really excited to try Retro for my birthday dinner as I knew we would be in for a real treat. For starters, the food itself was really tasty. I absolutely loved the parmesan churros that came with the Caesar salad. What a divine creation! The pepperoni rolls were fun and the marina was great. The skirt steak was prepared well and the VoltaggiO's were a cool take on the classic chef boyardee canned ravioli. What was missing for me for the ambiance and service. The restaurant space itself, which was taken over from a previous Mandalay Bay restaurant, felt like a buffet setting. The chair, tables, and floor were just so unappealing. I wanted to leave the space as soon as we were done with dinner. Yes, retro decorations existed, but it wasn't a place I would stay drinking and catching up with friends. The service was basic. I understand this is more casual dining, but Vegas is known for its modern hospitality, which was lacking here. I know this is a limited residency, so not sure how long they would stick around, but if they do, I hope they can take into account some hospitable changes.

Yelp
Where to start but say I am a lover of the Voltaggio Brothers and the fun of this concept. Upon entering, you can see how they transformed the space into an oasis for 80s and 90s kids displaying artifacts from our childhood in the form of found art inside the former restaurant's wine cellar and all over the walls. You can see the brothers personality in all the choices as well as adorable family photos. At your table, you are greeted by a table setting that is actually a ceramic plate but looks like a paper plate. Servers were attentive and informative through our our meal with some fun table side surprises including the serving of the Voltaggios out of a can and drinks poured tableside. For my drink, I got the Retro Farms Wine Cooler, which was poured tableside from a bottle that added to the cool flair. It tasted fantastic and I highly recommend. For apps, we tried the pepperoni rolls and the tuna tartare. The pepperoni rolls reminded me of a more fun and slightly less bready version of Stromboli. They had a nice bake on the outside while staying soft on the inside. The tuna tartare was fresh and bright in flavor but we were disappointed in the nori crackers. For entrees, we got the Wagyu Beef Pot Roast and the Voltaggios with the meatball. What hit us here first was the very thoughtful and very on brand presentation. The Voltaggios were exactly what you want from a pasta like that and had nice flavor but the sauce became a bit too acidic for me after multiple bites. The meatball was moist and well seasoned as it was at their last popup. The wagyu beef pot roast was probably one of my favorite things. Everything is as fork tender, well seasoned and complimented each other. For dessert, we were torn but went with the Cheesecake Creme Brûlée, which displayed the creaminess of cheese cake and the crackle of brûlée in a beautiful bite accented by strawberries. It was the perfect sweet bite to end our meal. We look forward to returning again with more friends and exploring more of the menu as well as having some of our faves again.

Yelp
I am very disappointed in this place. Could have been so much better. We had high hopes, but they completely missed the mark. Awesome decor! Mediocre Food & Horrible service. We ordered 5 things, and every single thing was luke warm. Almost as if everything was sitting under a heat lamp. The VoltaggiO's had good flavor but cold and served with a rock hard lukewarm meatball. To have an Italian last name on the sign and serve a meatball of that quality was so upsetting. Don't waste your time with the flavorless Chicken Pot Pocket served cold or the Chicken Schnitzel. The Pizza Rolls served with some bland marinara were alright but again served cold. The Ceviche was the best thing we had. I should have mentioned the temperature of my food to our waiter, but seeing how long it took to get the food, I held back. Be better, Voltaggio!!!

Yelp
This restaurant is pretty fun with all of the retro decor, but it's a bit weird for the former Aureole space. I just kept waiting for the wine angel to go flying! Food is really good, but super pricey and in my opinion, it's not quite worth it.

Yelp
Came by during a business trip in Vegas and happen to meet another attendee who happened to have a reservation here. He invited us over since his other party could not make it last minute. Since this was such a huge coincidence and opportunity, I could not refuse the good company. After some odd drinks later, our food has arrived. I will start off with my favorites: Wagyu Beef Pot Roast: definitely worth considering here. All the smokey flavors go well with one another, and the sauce is seeped in every fiber of the pot roast, carrots and onions. You have to order this as the pot roast is super tender. I slowly cut and chew each piece to savor the bite. Ceviche: You see that white stuff around it? That's coconut flakes that melts upon entry. I can't quite say it's ice cream since it doesn't melt like one, but it melts each bite. Overall, it's an amazing new texture I have never had and it is quite fun to eat. The blue fin tuna is also super fresh and is a delight to eat with. It comes with these nori crackers that altogether is a treat to eat! Chicken Pot Pie: I love the croquettes they made. Fried perfectly on the inside, soft and smooth on the inside. It was done perfectly with the hints of chicken reminding you that this is a redefined chicken pot pie you're eating. Absolutely outstanding! Green Bean Casserole: super deep in mushroom flavor. If you're not a fan of mushrooms, pass this. Otherwise, I find it fantastic. They extenuated the flavor of mushrooms as much as possible in this dish, which dominates all else in this dish. Lastly, Chicken and Dumplings. In my opinion, avoid this. It was rather bland on all fronts and I cannot recommend this at all. The top part is gnocchi which is light and plump and it honestly reminds of really good fried tofu. However, it neutralizes the whole dish entirely, so eating it with something else becomes bland. The chicken and sauce were cooked together wonderfully, but as a whole dish together, disappointing. Onto desserts: My most favorite: Key Lime Pie. All deconstructed and can be enjoyed individually, but the way the lime pieces and the coconut ice cream intermingles with the broken graham crackers is so wonderful. I am not a big fan of sour desserts in general, but the balance done here is so delicate and perfect, I cannot stop eating. Chocolate Lava Cake: a bit too cooked inside, as not a lot oozed out. Nevertheless, this is easily one of the best chocolate desserts I have had. It's deep and rich, yet light and smooth. It is a delicate balance of extreme chocolate tastes without the guilt it comes with. Overall, satisfying. Overall: fantastic and I highly recommend you drop by if you plan on visiting Mandalay Bay for conventions, business trips or just plain vacationing.

Yelp
There were so many things on the menu that looked good. I had a hard time deciding on what to order. The menu was filled with updated versions of food that we grew up with. We ended up with the Cheese and Crackers (Pork Rinds and Whipped Brie), Chicken Pot Pie and VoltagiOs which was there take on SpaghettiOs along with the vegetable of the day. We finished the meal with the molten lava cake I loved every bit of every dish. The service was excellent. I am hoping I can go back and have another meal to try some of the things we didn't get to try. I noticed that we weren't the only ones looking around to see what other tables were having. Overall, a fun restaurant with plenty of memorabilia from the 80s

Yelp
A must try at Mandalay Bay. This spot recreates child hood classics and puts a modern twist on them. The food is amazing, the atmosphere will take you back in time (they got swizzle straws) and the service is great. Jay the bartender was helpful with the menu and was a great time to talk with and hear all about retro. Oh yeah, the liquor selection is a 10. They got the best in all categories. Make sure to check it out.

Yelp
Definitely enticed by the Voltaggio name and theme. Unfortunately, what seemed to be a neat idea didn't live up to expectations. We started with the cheese and crackers, or chicarones and whipped brie. Thr chicarones were very good but the brie was bland and pimento vinaigrette was undistinguished. For dinner, my wife and I split the chicken and dumplings, lobster thermidor and green bean casserole. The entrees were both very good. The green bean casserole... what a sad disappointment. I wanted that unxious, rich, creamy sauce that just was absent. What was left was a bowl of fresh herricot vert and mushrooms. Not what you'd imagine. Service was uneven and awkward. Too long to take our order. Not checking up on us. Even the retro theme, says on the web site 80s and 90s but really more 60s and 70s. Which is fine but different than advertised. All in all, we left disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
This is such a nice restaurant and I loved the vibe. The service was outstanding and everyone was extremely nice and courteous. They had some vegan food options and they turned out to be tasty. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who will be in the Vegas area.

Yelp
So Mental note, I never say this but in this review you have to keep the theme in mind. The idea is to bring back old time favorites in a modern twist. While I normally don't like "reinvention" I have to confess this place a wonderful job of doing just that. The Ambiance - Lively, fun and full of friendly people. Each staff person really knows the menu, and the place is full of fun decorations that make yiu relive the 80s and 90s ya know the time before everything was digital. Even the bathrooms are made to look like old elementary school bathrooms down to the fountain style sink and randomly placed rubber doorstops (those may have actually been doorstops) Mental Note : take the elevator. Please don't pass out on the high clear stairs like I've seen. I'm even terrified of stairs and I love heights. The Staff: Honestly, give this place a chance. I almost didn't even try this place but the staff was soo friendly I wanted to see more. My Server was fantastic! He was very proud of me for finishing so much food (and looked slightly concerned). The Manager (Female) was absolutely a delight. Now the hard part: The food. Now remember, I grade food based on how much you would want to come back to the place. With that in mind I give this restaurant like 10 stars for creativity, but overall the taste of most of the dishes were unbalanced, too salty or Spicey, or the flavors did. It mix well. I ordered based on what was unique. Also the prices are a little high for what you get. 1.) Classic Shrimp Cocktail- the Shrimp were very overcooked and tough. Presented with nice Asian prawn chips for contrast, it actually was not that big of a contrasts. The shrimp had no fresh flavor and unfortunately the cocktail sauce was underwhelming. The Escargots- were served in a Chinese take out style with General TSO sauce. The rice was green onion risotto. It was not what you expect. It was spicey, and unevenly seasoned. The cook on the oyster and the risotto was spot on, but the flavors were just almost too Overwhelming. Lobster Thermidore- creative inventive- taste like lobster Thermidor. However it was very salty. And Basicalh a crab crake served with crepes. The waiter had to explain to me how to eat this. Also K found a shell in my crab cake and that was upsetting. Something to cut through the breadcrumbs would have been nice. The voltalgios-Basically like sphaghettios The problem I have with this dish is that yoh have perfectly cooked past and perfectly made and season meatball, but then they add a spicey salty tomato sauce to cover it all and no Parmesan cheese. The Waygu pot Roast- perhaps the best thing on the menu. Perfectly seasoned. Perfectly cooked. Overall the food was "Meh", I would not go back but I think it's a must try adventure if you just want to try something different. I give this place a 3 because it is a wonderful atmosphere and the service was impeccable. The food however was a miss. Overall I think if you'd want to be in a fun atmosphere this is a great place to go.

Yelp
Deeeeelicious!! We ordered just about everything on the menu except for a couple items and everything was truly delicious! Including many of the cocktails. The Tequila Sunrise did not disappoint and they even brought out the OLDE ENGLISH in a paper bag when ordered. (Such a great touch) What stuck out the most for me in general was the WAGYU beef pot roast, the pepperoni rolls, deviled eggs, and the VoltaggiO's. The VoltaggiO's were a vibe coming out in a can. Super cute but way way better than spaghettiOs from the 90's. Everything was truly delicious. The 80's & 90's vibe was well accomplished throughout the restaurant along with the dishes provided and of course the food. The service provided was also impeccable and the prices are perfect. Restaurant located in the Mandalay Bay.

Yelp
Amazing from start to finish. Love the retro 80's vibe of this place. Servers were nothing less than exceptional and so attentive. We came in for my birthday and it was amazing. Food was beyond delicious but I expected nothing less from Michael. He's so unique with his dishes and I wished I could have eaten more. Highly recommend

Yelp
Holy XXX‍!!!! Amazing is an understatement. The attitude and what you see on TV from the Volt is deserved and now better understood. Taste, texture, depth of flavor, sauce , spice and presentation is...what you would expect from the Volt. It DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! You watch the shows and you get it here. It's Vegas, the service is gold standard. Go see Sal at the bar, he knows how a drink should be poured. The manager Ashley made my time at Retro special. The food: Close your eyes and put your finger on the menu. If you don't like it, either you have no appreciation or don't know amazing flavors. Let me know if you don't like it, I may just reimburse you. Love the 80's music and vibe. Should have rode my Mongoose bike and wore my SexWax shirt to dinner. Awesome.

Yelp
We went here because we've always wanted to try a restaurant by the Voltaggio brothers. The concept of the restaurant is very fun 80's 90's retro. The tableware was cute with plates shaped like paper plates etc etc. However the food was hit and miss. I think the place relies on nostalgia a bit too much and there was not enough substance to the food to come back. Nor did the fun factor compensate enough. The place probably needs to be even more over the top or have a better menu.

Yelp
The concept of the restaurant was fun and interesting. The decor in the display along the stair case down to the seating area is super nostalgic and themed of 80-90s era. There was an option of a fixed menu at 99$ a person or a la carte option. The regular menu had options relevant to the era and were homestyle type foods in a more modern/ fancy way. Even though the menu mentioned family style, our server confirmed that everything was single serve which was a tad confusing. Overall it was a nice experience to enjoy with a group but wouldn't seek out the food in future visits.

Yelp
Stars solely for Voltaggio name and new restaurant decor in Vegas. Big Voltaggio brothers fan since top chef. Saw their new restaurant takeover and can't wait to come back and try their menu.

Yelp
As soon as you step in the ambiance is very fitting! All over the walls and tables are 80's and 90's nostalgic memorabilia. We received excellent service and had an enjoyable dinner. The food is a twist on classics from past decades. My favorite bite was the VoltaggiO's, perfect hand made pasta with a delicious meatball!

Yelp
I'm with the other reviewers that were less than impressed. We got the $70 tasting menu, which consisted of 3 courses. With 2 of us, we were pretty much able to try everything since they give you 2 options for each course, except the 2nd in which there was a vegetarian option. First, the beef tartare should be renamed to beets tartare. It is 99% beets. It's the color of beets, tastes like beets, and are beets. We couldn't even find a single piece of beef. They do put this cool dome of mustard on top that you break open like a sunny side up egg yolk. The downside is that it's pretty much just regular yellow mustard and was too strong. The other 1st course dish was these pepperoni roll-ups. I kid you not when I tell you these were basically Pillsbury dough, rolled up with some pepperoni slices (think small cinnamon roll style). Meh. The 2nd course was trout and steak frites. Both were good. The trout was just trout with lemon seasoning and some butter. Again, nothing you'd need any training in to cook. The flank steak was cooked great, with it being medium -rare. Flavor was just normal, not much seasoning on it, but there was a sauce in the dish that tastes like a red wine sauce and it was good. Dessert was an Oreo cookie crumble with a dark chocolate mousse (but thicker), and a creme brulee with some strawberries. Both the mousse and creme brulee cheesecake were not silky smooth. They were pretty 'grainy'. The Oreo cookie dessert literally tasted like a frozen sara lee dessert you'd buy at the grocery store. The ambience was nice, except the music. I really don't want loud rap or pop music playing when I'm trying to enjoy a nice dinner of this type. Service was excellent and everyone was very nice and attentive. Overall, for $180 (included tip) I definitely don't feel as though it's close to being worth it. But maybe it's just because we cook great meals at home that we expect more than just 'normal' at a place like that. Someone playing roulette next to us raved about how good it was (as are many of the reviews on here), so either I'm a total food snob or most people are easy to impress.

Yelp
I have always wanted to go to a voltaggio restaurant and this place was so fun. I loved the atmosphere, walking in and down the stairs made such a great start. the menu seems simple based on the names, but you get high caliber level food. everything was delicious and unexpected. my brother said this was the best meal he had ever had. we ordered a bunch of things to share, as the menu says food is served family style. the only thing that was off was our waiter, who literally told us it wasn't family style and we needed to order more food. that whole thing felt weird, but we stuck with it and shared a bunch of things. the most unexpectedly amazing was the escargot! must order. I'm not sure what this place is missing, because there were a lot of empty tables. this place should be full! the food and vibe were everything.

Yelp
I saw a post about this place and knew I needed to check it out! My birthday was the perfect time to do so! We didn't make reservations but didn't need any we were seated right away. Our server came over right away and was helpful and attentive through the meal. We decided to get one of the pre fixe meals and then added on a few things to round it out. What we ordered and the reviews of each: The pot pie. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect but these were pretty good! a cool new take on an old classic. The Caesar salad: those Parmesan churros, they could sell those on their own. They were sooo good! The salad was tasty too. Just the right amount of dressing and cheese. Wagu pot roast: it was good. I guess I was hoping for more though. I wasn't wowed or anything. But it did have a great flavor and was tender. The portion we got was pretty fatty though. Mashed potatoes: I loved these! Great flavor and consistency. More whipped but that's how I like 'em,. The VoltaggiOs: love the presentation on this! Pasta was perfectly Al Dente. The meatball was tasty and the sauce was great! The creme brûlée cheesecake: Wow! I'd come back just for this! Sooooo good! Cookies and cream: very rich. Too rich for us, but it was really good, we just liked the cheesecake more. The presentation on everything was excellent. They definitely know what they are doing there. I mean, cornflower blue casserole dishes? Be still my gen x heart! Overall we enjoyed the meal. The price is, well, what you'd expect for the strip. The pre fixe menu, depending on what you are getting is a great option. The reason I took off a star was that I love the concept, but wish the theming extended more into the dining area. It's such a great idea but they could do so much more with the space. Aside from the old wine tower from Aureole filed with retro toys and one table at the bottom that's about it. I heard it's still just a pop up for now so hopefully it works out and they do more with the space. I would definitely go back. Some unique takes on old school comfort food. Can't beat that.

Yelp
Seeing the billboard all summer on the freeway got us hyped! Unfortunately it didn't work out with us. Service & staff was good, let down with the dishes. Our reservation was around 5:30-6pm. We ordered our drinks and decided on the set menu along with the lobster thermidor that my friend was excited for. The caprese was 86'd (weird since our reso was an earlier time), lobster thermidor was not warm at all, texture wasn't right. It could have been off on our table. We also noticed there was a convention going on, but sadly we were disappointed.

Yelp
Was looking forward to eating the Brothers food since I have been a fan since Top Chef Ambiance is great and very unique I had the tasting menu for $100 Was not a fan of the pepperoni bites kinda dried out marinara sauce had good flavor. Shrimp and chips was great the shrimps were huge and the cocktail sauce had good heat Trout was vey good too I had the pinky Dessert was good but the sponge cake was a little dried out Was impressed with the staff a manager came buy and noticed I didn't eat much of the pepperoni bites offer to take it off the bill or I could have the caviar deviled eggs which I chose They were very good I was hoping to be blown away but came away with it was just a good meal

Yelp
I had the opportunity to meet both Bryan and Michael Voltaggio a few years back while doing some filming with Toyota. So when I had the opportunity to try out their restaurant, I jumped on it! I have experienced several of their restaurants and have witnessed them both in their respective labs doing what they do best, so I knew together they wouldn't disappoint! I love the fact they took their childhood dishes and put their unique style on them! I only got a few pictures because I was so excited about trying everything as the waiter placed the dishes on the table! If you're looking for an experience from the 80's & 90's both with the atmosphere and food then you better try this place out before it's gone, as it's only here for a limited time! Definitely brought me back to my childhood on all levels! Great job Bryan and Michael, hope to cross paths again in the future!

Yelp
I can't eat another bite!! About to burst!! Everything is delicious here. My husband and I ate at Ink in Los Angeles and wanted to try this restaurant in Las Vegas. Everything is so good. The decor is 90s retro with glassware plates that look like paper plates. The napkins are all primary colors like the crayons, and the decor is all retro games consoles or games boards. Music is the best, think rock band mixed with some one hit wonders of the 90s. But back to the food, we had the chicken pot pie, Caesar salad, hanger steak, waygu pot roast, and crème brûlée. And everything was good, we wanted to lick the plate good. They even give you a little candy treat bag at the end of your meal.

Yelp
After closely studying the menu in anticipation for our visit to Retro, the hunny & I decided to go for a light tasting & experience the vibe. We arrived a little early for our reservation, so we stepped downstairs to their bar for drinks until our time was called. The entrance of the place is pretty nostalgic. The giant glass cube that once showcased a massive wine collection tended to by wine angels, while it was Aureole, now housed icons of the 80's & 90's. As you go deeper into the restaurant, you'll pass a table of old-school toys. That's about as nostalgic as it gets. The decor is pretty contemporary and has more of a business-like feel to it. Not so much a kid-friendly environment you would expect. The staff are all pretty nice and hard working. Being that it was busy, everyone was working at a fast pace, hence the occasional lack of attention. Now for the food. They have a menu selection where you can pick an app, main & dessert for $99/person. Since we were still full from lunch, we opted for a few apps instead. We were mainly looking forward to the escargot, ceviche & deviled eggs, which is all we ordered. I appreciate the mindfulness of creativity. But some things are better left in their true, authentic form. I'm talking about the escargot. We were so looking forward to a fabulous French delicacy of snails broiled in a savory garlic butter sauce. Instead, we got deshelled snails (which we did not recognize) sautéed in a General Tsao sauce. The dish would have been fine if it were General Tsao's chicken, although a little on the salty side. But General Tsao's snails? No. In addition to sight and smell, I believe two of the most important elements of a successful dish are taste and texture. As I said, it would have been fine if it were General Tsao's chicken. But he texture of the snails paired with the sauce did not go. The highlight of the escargot was the side of dashi rice, which was close to being a risotto, topped with some kind of foam that had the essence of sour cream and onion. That dish could carry itself on its own, The other dishes we ordered were the deviled eggs with caviar, which were ok. The ceviche was probably the best of the 3 dishes. It was totally not what I expected as a ceviche. But with the creativity, visual & taste, I'd say it was a hit. But the best of the best was definitely the crime brûlée cheesecake. Delicious! The plates seemed small, but were surprisingly filling to where we actually had to get a to-go box. I think we will probably go back, since there is so much more of the menu to explore.

Yelp
Retro? More like MEHtro. Concept is a 10/10 , execution 2/10 - they entice you with a grand entrance through the Time Machine that leads you down stairs to what looks like an old banquet room turned into a make shift restaurant. So generic in the dining room. Minimal decorations. Weird amber lighting. And pipe and drapes everywhere to "hide" sections. Menu is SEVERELY overpriced for the quality of food. Service was good. But I was so hoping it would be incredible elevated creative takes on old school classics. Now onto what we ordered...I didn't get to snap pics of our appetizers... APPS - -pizza rolls (I'd rather have the frozen crappy ones from the grocery store) -corn dogs (again hot dog on a stick is far better than the weird coldish version we got) MAINS - -VoltaggiOs - great presentation and the only thing we order that we "liked" -Caesar salad - salt trap -shells and cheese- MEHtro SIDES- -green beans almondine - bland AF -boardwalk fries- they are French fries. That's all.

Yelp
My sister wanted to check out this restaurant as she really like the Voltaggio brothers. This restaurant is not a permanent place but more of a long term pop up! All of the retro decor was super cool, I wish it carried more through the restaurant instead of just the entrance. The service was good and our server brought us throwback trivia cards to play which I thought was a cute touch. So I have heard mixed reviews about the food and to be honest I didn't hate it! I thought overall the food was good and the concept was creative. It was there take on food they grew up eating and the food was just that!! I don't think any of the food wowed me, but overall not a bad experience.

Yelp
I knew I was going to love this place when I first heard that Michael and Bryan Voltaggio were opening a restaurant together in Vegas. I made reservations for 3 people, but ended up needing it for 4 due to meeting up with a friend from Vegas. They had no issues accommodating that and showed us to our table. We were greeted immediately and took our drink orders. I pretty much knew what I was ordering when we arrived so I just glanced over the menu one more time to make sure I was certain what I wanted. I got the VoltaggiOOOs and meatball. The meatball was deliciously seasoned and cooked well. The spaghettios were large and cooked in a delicious red sauce. It was actually too much food for me that I had to take some leftover. Other people in my party got the chicken in dumplings, the chicken pot pie bites and the blackened octopus. Everything tasted amazing and everyone was happy with their choices. You can still kind of tell the place is a 'pop up' restaurant as the service staff all come from behind a large curtain that is there to block seeing the back of house. No doors or anything. The decor walking in to the restaurant is fun and speaks to the Retro part of the name. Love the vibe. I did look around constantly as I was hoping to get to meet with Michael or Bryan but that didn't happen sadly.

Yelp
I was extremely disappointed after seeing the Voltaggio name on this. Our entire meal lacked seasoning. A little salt would have gone a long way. I would have rather had an actual can of SpaghettiOs than this version. No flavor, soggy pasta and an extremely dense meatball. The pot roast was good, but nothing to write home about or pay that much for. Same goes for the mac and cheese. Highlights were the Caesar salad (loved the churro croutons) and the crème brûlée cheesecake.
google avatar

Crystal L.

Yelp
It bothers me to rate this place so low. And to be honest, if it wasn't for the regard I hold the Voltaggio's in, I might rate it lower. I was SO looking forward to this meal. I followed the news about this place and its menu. It was the "exciting meal" of our most recent trip to Vegas. But the food was so disappointing. We started with the deviled eggs - which are $28 but with caviar, I thought that was fair. My SO only tolerates my love for deviled eggs and turns out is not a fan of caviar at all so these were all on me to eat. They were OK. They are also where things went weirdly downhill. Our server told us that everything was meant to be family style so I assumed they would bring out the food as it was ready. But our server, who was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu, seemed to be watching us really close to time the next course. We ordered another appetizer, the pepperoni rolls. I absolutely LOVE pepperoni rolls and miss them so much... you can't get the New Jersey/NYC pepperoni rolls on the West Coast... they have no idea how to do it. So I couldn't wait to try the Voltaggio version. Because our server seemed to be waiting for us to finish the deviled eggs, there was a long wait to bring out the pepperoni rolls and by the time we got them, they were stone cold. Still delicious, to be clear. But cold. I think they would have been amazing if they were warm or even hot. Again, we were taking our time... relaxing and talking. Our server seemed to be monitoring us closely but just BRING out the damn food. So the Hangar Steak Frites we ordered was also cold. And covered in this bizarre coating of two giant potato chips that are completely flavorless. If this is the frites in the steak frites it is just... worthless. We saw no sign of the bearnaise pudding - maybe it was the one slick of sauce? We did order a side of mashed potatoes because our server alerted us to the fact that the steak doesn't really come with anything. They were fine. The lauded Mai Tai was undrinkable. And I'm a lady that knows about Mai Tai's -- that's my drink. This one was both too sweet and too sour and just not what a Mai Tai should be. We did of course appreciate the decor, as two children of the 80's. But my 80's soundtrack is different than the Voltaggio's because to me this was a great opportunity to bring in the AMAZING hair bands of the time... Some Motley, some Ratt, some Quiet Riot. At the very least some of the great Night Ranger. But instead, the soundtrack leans heavily toward rap which just doesn't feel right. YMMV. Very disappointed as I was so looking forward to this meal. It's such a buzzy place even the hotel VIP desk staff were asking me what I thought once they saw we had dinner there. I had to be honest... "Please take your knives and do better." I know you can!

Yelp
Interior: Everything was so cute!! I loved the interior, they had a lot of items from the 80's displayed so as you're walking down the stairs you get to walk down memory lane. Very colorful as well & I loved the ceramic plates that looked like paper plates. The attention to detail was amazing. 10/10 Service: Hostess was kind & welcoming. Our server was great. He gave recommendations & always checked up on how we were doing while making sure we always had our cups filled with water 10/10 Food/Drinks: -Retro Farms Wine Cooler: 6/10. It's a cute concept w how they presented the bottle & the little dice on top. but it wasn't exactly sweet to me as i had anticipated. Also if you want something strong don't get this! haha. the taste wasn't anything special or worth remembering to me personally -Caesar Salad: let it be know that i don't really like salad & my bf is a salad connoisseur. we're not exaggerating when we say we LOVE this salad. the dressing was chef's kiss & the parmesan churro was so delicious! i do however wish it was a larger portion & has the option of adding chicken to it 9/10 -Chicken Pot Pie: so this is a twist bc clearly it's not a pot pie but a croquette! it had a nice presentation of golden flakes on it & the filling was hot & yummy! it defs could fill you up as well. adding lemon juice pairs well w the croquette as well! 8/10 -VoltaggiO's: my favorite dish by far! it is the revamped version spaghettiOs. the sauce & meatball was delicious. i could eat this for days! 10/10 -Wagyu Beef Pot Roast: not only was the wagyu tender but the carrot as well! price point was $56 & to be quite frank if i came back to Retro I wouldn't order this again. It was decent but i don't think it's worth $56. presentation was nice but i think there wasn't anything outstanding w the taste. plus the portion is small for this as well. bc my bf & i ordered a bunch of other things we sufficed w splitting this but if you were to order solely just this for one person it might not fill them up. 7/10 Overall rating: 9/10. service was great/attentive. food was delicious. Can be pricy depending on how much you order.

Yelp
Overall, Retro was a fantastic experience. As a huge fan of the Voltaggio brothers (well, really a fan of Michael) since the days of Ink on Melrose in LA, I was so excited to try this Mandalay Bay popup. Though not quite Ink level, it delivered and I highly recommend it. The design of the restaurant is super cool; it's bright, creative, and unique! As for the food, we started with the Brioche Pepperoni Rolls, followed by the Mozzarella Pretending to be a Tomato. For entrees, we had VoltaggiO's and Cedar Plank Salmon. Feeling unable to choose one dessert, we took the recommendation of both the host and waitstaff, selecting two: the Creme Brulee Cheesecake and the Frozen Cookies and Cream. The pepperoni rolls were so much fun. While the flavor was stellar, the texture was a bit strange - too hard for Brioche, in my opinion. The mozzarella was fantastic; perfect texture and flavor with lovely presentation. The VoltaggiO's, while a great concept, weren't my favorite. I understand the notion of the elevated spaghetti-o, but to elevate would be to cook the pasta correctly. The O's were, like the canned version, mush. This was half-remedied by the incredible sauce. Mixed feelings here! The fish entree was the best cedar plank preparation of salmon I've ever had in my life. Texture, cook temp, and flavor profile were absolute perfection. Both desserts were 5/5. The cheesecake lived up to my expectations after tasting the mind-blowing "Mountain Yam" at Michael's LA restaurant, and that's saying a lot considering it's one of my favorite desserts of all time. In summary, go to Retro... but if you're a pasta connoisseur, avoid the O's.

Yelp
Service - 5 Stars - the manager Ash was excellent! She took care of us when her server wasn't there. Ambiance - 4 Stars - the details from the plateware to the wall decor was fun and unique. Food - 3 - we came for appetizers and cocktails, food is ok, and I only say that because I like big flavors. The ahi ceviche was really unique and actually pretty good. Overall, it's a fun place!

Yelp
Brand new concept by the Voltaggios! All your classic Americana dishes are here, but all with a little twist. We had the Deviled Eggs, which are served with a healthy dose of caviar under a mousse-like deviling of yolk, leaving a rich but light feel in the mouth. The tuna tartare is AMAZING, with fresh, well-seasoned tuna surrounded by frozen coconut milk. Both umami and lightly sweet, the accompanying nori crisps also lend a subtle base note to everything. The mac and cheese somehow replicates the classic velveeta shells and cheese while tasting nothing like the plastic gooeyness we love. The chicken pot pie is served up in croquette form, with a small dollop of a truffle cream that punches through. The fry is light and surrounded a deliciously creamy chicken pot pie interior that would be right at home in some 1970s kitchen. The green bean casserole was good, but definitely the weakest of our savory items. The beans were unevenly cooked, and lacked any significant flavor. The delicious mushroom onion sauce all was at the bottom of the casserole dish, so unless you scooped on every bite, it was hard to get the whole batch of flavor. The molten chocolate cake was a nice twist with a delicious hazelnut cream atop the cake itself. The cake was unfortunately barely warm, although the ganache inside was still plenty melty. The molten chocolate cake tastes way less sweet than expected, with an incredibly deep chocolate flavor, while the decision to salt the ganache made it very intense. The cheesecake creme brûlée was more cheesecake than crème brûlée, with a texture that wasn't too dense. My partner and I disagreed on whether it was too sweet or not sweet enough somehow, something we rarely split on. The surrounding strawberries were delicious though, and I think I detected a hint of balsamic vinegar which provided a nice contrast to the sweetness. Service was quick and friendly, and our waiter guided us through the menu. Since everything is meant to be shared, portions are appropriately sized. I do wish they had more vegetarian options though. Since things are meant to be shared, if someone in your party is vegetarian, the pickings are pretty slim, and it can impact the whole table. As a party with a pescatarian, it meant most things were off the list, leaving me to eat the entire chicken pot pie serving. The drinks menu is full of familiar items with small twists. My partner got the Fuzzy Navel, which ended up tasting like a fuzzy navel and a mimosa got together and created a delicious baby. He's looking forward to trying some other things in the future! The overall vibe is nice though, with a fantastic 70s/80s/90s playlist, servers in converses, and the Retro tower greeting you. Overall, a great meal, and with a few menu tweaks, I think they could be absolutely fantastic. While it may not be on our list for our next trip (due to the aforementioned menu limitations), it will be in our rotation for future visits for sure!

Yelp
Awesome new renditions on everything retro from 80s to 90s from the food to the decor to the tableware. Service was amazing, Everybody was so friendly and nice. We ordered about 80% of the menu and everything was amazing my favorite probably being the tuna ceviche, deviled egg and the pot roast. Nostalgic plays on the classic cocktails as well were fun and tasty. Recommend the brass monkey! Definitely worth going. I'll be back!
