Retro Cafe

A very nice location that displays support for both LGBTQ and ADA communities in representative flags and ADA compliant renovations such as a ramp and wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Atmosphere is a little reflective of the neighborhood it’s in, that’s the only reason I docked 1 star, could’ve been a little warmer and cozy. Otherwise service was very pleasant and the coffee was good. The muffins were a surprise. They were so heavy and dense I was sure they’d be dry but they are very moist and flavorful! This location was a pleasant surprise altogether. For reference, I got two large iced coffees with cream, sugar and flavor, and two muffins and it came in a few cents under 20$ (PS: they also have a fun craft selection you can do at their tables and accept monetary donations to keep it stocked—good to keep kids busy so parents can enjoy their coffee!)

Cute spot, my group all got the grilled cheeses and they were very good. I got a chaider, half apple cider and half chai tea. It was good, best of both worlds some would say. My friends got matches and strawberry smoothies

Driving north, we stopped at this funky place for morning coffee. My cappuccino was excellent, as was the chocolate chunk cookie. I'll definitely stop there again when I'm in the Scranton area.

A dainty little cafe in the local area! The decorations match the retro theme, but there could be more to help bring out the theme. I got an iced flower power, but the lavender flavor was lacking. The latte was still good though. I also got a house made broccoli cheddar soup, which was warming and flavorful. Plus, there’s parking near it!!

First time at Retro - a welcome addition to the Pine Brook district. The coffee menu looks great, but for someone who can't drink coffee there's not a ton of options. I tried a dragon fruit refresher and it was delicious. I'd like to go back with a coffee drinker to get a full review, and to try some food!

It's a great cafe near National Bakery and On & On. I had a sausage, egg and cheese on a National Bakery roll and a brewed black coffee. Everything was very good. The interior is very cozy with fantastic wall art throughout. I wish the menu was more creative with more items. The glass case is in need of more sweet and savory contents.

personally my favorite coffee in the area, i can get a black coffee hot or iced and it’s not bitter and doesn’t need any sugar it’s perfect. i also love the flavors they use (routin 1883), the lattes hot or iced are great my favorites are the honey cream, flower power, perfect matcha, london fog, caramel cortado, banana mocha, retro classic, iced brown sugar shaken espresso, and raspberry white chocolate mocha!

I’m a coffee snob. This place has amazing coffee, service and sandwiches. You can trust you won’t be disappointed. Remember though, it is a cafe with limited food options but they are tasty!

A little annoyed at this cafe. I came in, ordered a large latte with one pump of flavor, which is literally about a teaspoon. Was upcharged for that. I was already being upcharged for the oat milk, cant you just chill with all the added fees, damn. The latte was over $7 and I am not even sure any flavor was added because I surely did not taste it. Ah well, live and learn I guess

The avocado toast with bacon was delish! The bacon is nice and crispy bits on top. Barista Liz (she is amazing) recommended the Honey white chocolate latte- smooth and creamy deliciousness. The food menu offers-- protein balls, muffins, toasts, egg sandwiches, bagels. Service was prompt and friendly, atmosphere inside is roomy and comfy. Great stop on your way around town!

My boyfriend and I were on A Tuesday in February. We were hoping to get to the on and on across the way, but they were closed. We did not have coffee but had their Turkey/Cheddar/Avocado sandwich with Tomato soup. The soup was delicious! We liked the sandwich but felt it could have been hotter and melted cheese. All in all a great service, cool vibe. We will be back!

Great coffee, great vibes!! Needed a place for a couple hours to get some work done and Retro checked all the boxes. Also - fast wifi.

Great little shop. I taste tested cappuccino from here vs Zummos. Retro won, hands down!! Coffee is rich, dark and hot. They had a nice selection of soups and sandwiches (panini).

All the way from CT doing taste tests on espresso. Ranks up there with some of the best I've had. Staff is very friendly and engaging greeting you when you walk in. Love the decor. Feels very coffee shopish. This is also the place directly across the street from "the Office" mural of Dwight Schrute. I highly recommend The Retro Cafe.

Cool atmosphere and attentive staff. Food was fresh & delicious. A must stop in place , they close in the afternoon so go early.

stopped by for a some grub after vintage shopping and kissing Dwight on the lips across the street. Boy, making out with a wall really works up an appetite! There was only one option for lunch sandwich but it worked out because it was so delicious. I was talking to myself on the car right home and we both agreed it was the best wrap we ever had. The cashier was friendly and iconic. The only small flop was that the bathroom did not have toilet paper. Luckily, there was a picture of Taylor swift on the wall. Through her guidance I was able to "shake it off." Overall, I had a lovely time at this cafe and would recommend it to a friend. 5 stars.

I LOVE this place! I just moved to the Scranton area in the fall and had been trying out different local cafes in search of the best latte... and I think this is the one!! I do not like standard coffee in general, I only like espresso and lattes, and theirs are so delicious! They are doing everything right in my book!! Every latte I have gotten here has been delicious and they are so consistent in the taste. Pretty standard food menu but all items I have tried have been yummy. The cafe is super cute and clean and is a great option to sit and eat or get some work done while you sip on your coffee. In addition, the employees here are all so incredibly nice and friendly. Some coffee shops can be pricey but this one has very fair prices that make me feel better about coming here multiple times a week I highly recommend!!
