We enjoyed our dinner there so much and we will be back! Our waitress Jessica was so friendly and wrote everything down ahead of time since we were deaf and that impressed us! Calamari was pretty good, just a bit too salty for us. Salmon cakes, oh myyy!! My hubby couldn’t have enough of these! I ordered maple salmon and my hubby ordered Alaskan halibut. My hubby loved that dish, so did I! I kept taking some bites of his halibut, it was soo unbelievably delicious!! Mine was pretty good, maybe tone down on salt.

We have lived in the area for about 4 years now and I have heard your ads on morning talk radio. Finally the clouds aligned and we we able to try the Retro Metro. The girls who greeted us were pleasantly accommodating. The atmosphere was perfect, (our server I'll get to him in a minute) our drinks were superb, the food was prepared to perfection. Jake was our server he was great! Please seat us in his section everytime! Thank you for a great experience Curt and Annette

We went here one night for a double date. The table had the flashed fried spinach for app. Bistro 160 in Nixa has the best! This was very good, but I wish it were a little less greasy from the parm. The table also got prime rib house cut (served only Friday I believe $45). It was seasoned very well and the sauces paired great. The cook was executed well. We shared a tiramisu for dessert. It was one of the sweeter tiramisu I have had. Look at the size! I prefer mine more of a savory espresso flavor. This place is very much on the pricier side so be prepared to spend well over $100! The food is good tho. We would like to try more off the menu. Reservations recommended especially on the weekend.

Wonderful and attentive wait staff. Kevin went above and beyond to engage and make our experience a positive one! The food came out beautiful and taste delicious. Ended with the best key lime pie we’ve ever had. The steak was made perfect and juicy.

Every time I come here on the Thursday midday Madeline has been here and taking the best care of us that we could have possibly hope for. The food is always on point the wine is always fantastic The service is always top-notch and they always go above and beyond to make you feel valued and appreciated. No joke anytime you want to stop and have a chill meal or even something a little more upscale where you put on some nice clothes just for the sake of wearing them check out retro metro over by Hudson hawk and make sure if you go in in the evenings you ask for Madeline or Thursday during the day you ask for Madeline there's nobody better

Food here is phenomenal! Flash-fried spinach is definitely a must. I was a little worried about ordering the Prime rib as I have bad experiences before, but it was perfect. The dipping sauce for their bread is amazing- i think it's a tomato vinaigrette, but paired perfectly with the steak. And the rosemary potatoes au gratin are the best au gratin ive ever had, so full of flavor and potatoes were cooked perfect. Our waitress was Betty knowledgeable about the food and favorite dishes and was very attentive to whatever we needed.

Jake was our server this evening. This was our first time dining here. The food was so good. The service was even better. Jake, recommend the salmon that was wonderful. We will be back. Thank you for a great meal and dining experience. The Nelson’s

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. We went there with group of girls for my sister’s b-day. We were greeted with complementary wine with plate of cheese, olives, and prosciutto. After , our server got our order and brought another complimentary bread with sauce. I ‘ve ordered Victoree ribeye. It was flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection. It was served with amazing potato gratin and vegetable salsa. My sister ordered chicken Parmesan, I thought it was ok, she really liked it though. My other sis got lamb chops with green beans, she loved it as well. My mom got sea bass, it was delicious, but the risotto on the side was just ok. We also ordered some deserts. Birthday girl got a free chocolate cake with candle! Also they brought us complementary champagne with it. My aunt got cherry pie, it was super good , it tasted like homemade. We had a wonderful and unforgettable time at this place. Also , our server Madeline , was outstanding at doing her job. She was very sweet, caring, and made our day brighter. Definitely, would want to come back for the same experience!

I had the best burger in springfield today for lunch it was so flavorful and big!! Outstanding My wife had a salad that also was great Service was great too

Those (3) items and (2) sodas....that was good for a $65 tab at lunch. Here's the rundown: - flash fried spinach is a great dish. Crispy spinach - with garlic, lemon and parm - just melts in your mouth good stuff. - bacon jam burger: not sure what is mixed into the bacon jam sauce...maybe an all spice or something. But a very off putting taste. The burger meat was probably good to start. But it was cooked to an nth degree and made oh so dry. - lobster bisque: Now, it did have plenty of lobster meat in it. But the broth was so thin...had a slight scorched taste...and overall seasoned quite bland. Service on the day was slow as slow could be...and only (3) tables were filled at the time.

Just a had great dinner here with my wife! While we were here we witnessed the owner Chef Tiny pull chairs from a private party to accommodate a disabled couple to sit at the bar!! This guy really loves his customers!!!

Food on Friday evening is a great treat. Prime rib hard to pass up. Services is excellent as always.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, and good service. I prefer this to the actual Metro Grill, personally, even though both are good. I love coming here. Perfect date night.

All always sooo great. Tiny at Retro makes you always feel great!!! Ribeye there is one of my favorite steaks!!!!

Had a gift card so we decided to use it. This restaurant is pretty casual, but their prices scream dress clothes. Wait staff was nice, but not extremely attentive. I got a burger with grilled onions, and Cajun fries "not hot at all." My burger was pretty good, meat was seasoned well, and it was the first time I think ever that I had a "hot burger" all the way through eating! My wife had a mushroom, and white sauce posta dish, and it wasn't great. We also had the mushroom appetizer, and I do not recommend it. Just a lot of slimy sliced mushrooms on a couple pieces of toast.. Decent burger and fries though.

We had a really fantastic meal here! Our server, Selena, was WONDERFUL. She was kind and friendly and gave great recommendations. We started out with a couple drinks -- a jalapeño Paloma and a whiskey-based drink with smoked maple syrup. They were pricey but had a good taste and were STRONG, so don't let the price discourage you. We had to go with the fried spinach appetizer and were impressed! It was like a more delicate version of a kale chip with a good crunch and great seasoning. My table went with a porterhouse, a chicken Caesar salad, a lobster ravioli, and a mushroom soup. The soup was delicious; it was creamy but also had nice chunks of fancy mushrooms. The Caesar salad got a great reception for the dressing, presentation, and overall taste. The lobster ravioli showed why it's been on menus for nearly three decades! The porterhouse was a bit overcooked for a medium but was said to be excellent in flavor. All plates were cleaned! The desserts were solid, with a top-notch homemade tiramisu being the star. The ambiance was also great, with the music being fun and the decor being a little upscale without feeling uncomfortable or "stuffy". This is the best meal I had while visiting the area, and I look forward to coming back again. We felt so welcomed and like we were in a restaurant that genuinely appreciated us being there. And the feelings were mutual!

Retro Metro seems to think highly of themselves, but they don't deliver on quality. I tried their prime rib, which is only served on Fridays, so you'd expect them to get it right. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The prime rib came to the table cold, and even with a steak knife, it was tough to cut through. Once I managed to get a bite, it was like chewing gum--completely unappetizing. I couldn't even finish it. For the price, I expected much better. Definitely not worth it.

Great menu, well presented and tasted awesome!! Great service too! I'll be back. I travel a lot and have added this to the rotation when I'm in town.

Food wasn't good for the price. Way over priced for nursing home food. Really disappointed. Our food was cold and distasteful.

The food was good and the waitress was very thorough and kind. There was no chef available to make the tableside Ceasar Salad so that was a mark down.

My mom and I had an unforgettable time at Retro Metro. We were greeted promptly and courteously by the host, and we were seated immediately. The service was impeccable, the ambience classy and warm, and the food outstanding. Run, don't walk, down to Retro if you want a memorable dining experience.

The paella was absolutely fantastic! Spicy, rich deep flavors with chorizo and fresh seafood. So many good choices here but this is now my favorite!

Food is average at best, not impressed at all. Service was inadequate, we sat at least a couple of minutes before anyone came to the table, only 2 other table being used. Won't go back

Retro Metro is an upscale family owned restaurant in Springfield Missouri that has excellent food, great service and the ambiance and atmosphere is one that makes people come from far and wide. We live close and frequent the restaurant since it's grand opening. The menu is incredible and Brandon and Hana Moore, the Chefs and owners, are professional all the way. The place is an upscale restaurant with a menu that is changing with the seasons and the times so well. You will enjoy this fine dining experience for certain

Nice restaurant with great service. A little pricey and can be noisy when they play funky overhead music. They do have some rooms that are less noisy. The food is excellent. Suggest getting a reservation.

Average food in average ambiance at fine dining prices. Paid $33 for a double Woodford Reserve. Won't be returning.

Wonderful!!! I took my family for Christmas and we enjoyed everything. I had the never had a bad day Ribeye and it was by far the best steak I've ever had. I will definitely be back.

Food was above excellent & expectations. I sat at the bar & Bree was very cordial. Can't wait to go back!

The food is second to none, the staff knows their stuff and service is incredible. Not to mention the whole place has a comfortable and friendly vibe! Don't pass up a chance to go!!!

First time trying Retro Metro and will be back. Paella was good but would be even better with saffron rice. The wedge salad was very good. Service was excellent!

Best Springfield restaurant I've been to. Too the family for my daughter's graduation dinner. The service was first class, the food was excellent and the setting was perfect. We all (7 of us) had something different and we each enjoyed what we ate. Try the flash fried spinach for an appetizer. You won't be disappointed!

Thought we would try this out for a Friday First and cover valentines while we were at. The place is easy to find and seemed to have plenty of parking. The décor was modern and comfortable. We had reservations at 7 but showed up early and took a seat at the bar. Overall a really nice place just a little loud and not sure how you would ever fix that. I had amaretto sour and she whatever wine she drinks. We started with the Gaska and Yoakam. The Gaska was amazing, it is so full of flavors it is one of all time favorite starters. The Yoakam was completely out of this world tender and full of flavor with the balsamic reduction. I would recommend both to anyone. For my main course I had the 10 oz Molina. This is a 10oz beef tenderloin topped with a bearnaise crab cake set on bed of smoked salmon, prosciutto rigatoni bed. This was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Tender and so full of flavor. My one negative is I think they seared it with a torch and there was a slight hint of burn instead of char. My wife had the Wampler pasta. I tasted it and it was also delicious and she loved it. This was a great experience for us and we will definitely return round 2.

Food was good but not at the level you would expect for the cost. However the service was excellent!

We made a reservation at Retro Metro, and it was honored and we were immediately sat. The server was very nice and knowledgeable about the products in the menu. Our food was AMAZING!!! We had the Flash Fried Spinach-which we didn't even know was possible. It melts in your mouth and has great flavor. We also ordered the Victory Ribeye and the 10oz Black and Blue Caldwell. Both steaks cooked to perfection and were just soooo delicious!!! We will be back for sure.

While in Springfield for a 20th anniversary our company rented out the restaurant. Let me say the buffet style food was off the charts. Lightly glazed salmon and a roast beef that was filet tender and cooked for Mid-rare to Mid-well choices. The wait staff was amazing as well, taken care of every need of everyone of us. The chef came out and spoke with every employee inquiring about the food, very nice touch as well. We will defiantly go back during regular hours when we are in Springfield next.

Food is okay. Place is so loud, it's impossible to hold a conversation. Prices are very high. The service was okay, nothing above or beyond. If I'm going out to spend a lot of money on one meal, it will never again be here.

The staff is Fabulous, they care about making it a great experience! Such incredible food. I will be back. The Ambiance is great for date night or a evening night cap.

An absolute great place! Comfortable and relaxed, yet very special! You must try the Flash Fried Spinach....unbelievably amazing. Entrees were excellent and the service was too! You felt attended to but didn't feel interrupted. Thanks to Brie and the rest of the staff for making all feel welcome and happy to be there. We will most definitely return as the whole experience was so enjoyable.

In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Springfield! Tiny and his wife are the best chefs in this town! The staff are all so good at what they do it's a pleasure to tip them well! Bravo, Tina!

Totally random yelp stop and we cannot say enough good things about this place. Nice vibe and great service. Fried spinach is def something to try... yes, I was unsure too. Literally, everything we had was great. We really liked this place

We tried Happy Hour on Wednesday from 4:30 5:30. It was not very busy at all. Food was good. Ambience too. Drinks were okay. Customer service was not good. The staff were not very attentive. I noticed though if the staff knew your name the staff was attentive and quick. Not sure if I will go back and try lunch or dinner because of the customer service.

First time we had ever been there. The staff was fantastic, the restaurant was clean and very nice environment. We had the YOAKAM BRUSCHETTA that is the best Bruschetta I have had. The steak was unbelievably tender. Then I had the Prime Rib, Smoked Gouda Mash and Truffle Mushroom Risotto. My wife had Prime Rib, Smoked Gouda Mash and Brussels Sprouts. The meat was cooked right with a great flavor and the sides were wonderful. Then they treated us to Pecan pie and Apple pie for our Birthday's that was my favorite pecan pie. On top of all that Chef Tiny made several trips through the restaurant that great guest and assure everyone was taken care of. Thank you Chef Tiny and Sraff for a great night.

This place went downhill very quickly. We were excited to have an alternate to Metropolitan Grill closer to our house. We've tried three times. The first was shortly after they opened and the food and service was excellent. The second two visits were recent and our last. The staff were aloof and unresponsive and preferred to chit chat with a few bar patrons vs keep our food warm and beverages flowing. It's like a Springfield high school in there now and food is overpriced relative to quality and flavor in the experience provided. We are both working professionals who entertain clients frequently and will continue to use other restaurants in town instead. So sad - we wanted this to be a local gem but were quickly let down.

All around amazing!! We had the spinach "chips" as the appetizer, and it did not disappoint. Then we had the prime rib supper, and it was just as amazing! Highly recommend!!

The food here is exceptional. I especially loved the tuna tots and the bread insanely good. Our waiter, Kevin, was the model server. We visited on September 23, 2023. It's a tad pricey, but worth it for the ambiance, food, and service.

Retro Metro has one of the best menus and the best food in Springfield. There is absolutely no doubt about that. However, my experience on Friday was less than spectacular. First off, our server was wearing a jean mini skirt. The shocking part: she's a MANAGER. Now, I know I'm a bit old fashioned, but a jean mini skirt has no place in a fine dining restaurant and it certainly shouldn't be paraded around by a manager. In my opinion, it looked unprofessional, classless, and tacky. That being said, she was nice but she also took her time with everything. Secondly, I know the restaurant was busy (which I love because then I know people want to be there) but it seemed that she really only cared to give extra attention to her guests whom were men. Again, I know I'm old fashioned, but if I'm paying $50 for a piece of prime rib, I would like the kind of service I have become accustomed to when I come to Retro Metro. I love the food and I love the new menu but please, please train your people in what it means to be professional.

Service was fantastic, beer was cold, broccoli was amazing! Atmosphere was great too. The complimentary cookie was out of this world. I may end up going back? Not 100% sure, I am a big steak person and I personally believe there is better places in town to get a steak. There are different food items on the menu to try, but both of us in my party got steak. They did have a very diverse menu with unique names to what the metropolitan grill has. Would definitely like to try other things. However, like I said, I would go elsewhere for a steak, especially for the price point.
