Best Barbecue in Boston, According to Eater Editors | Eater Boston

"This recent addition to the South End is adding barbecue to the neighborhood’s bustling culinary scene. The biscuits are a big hit here: crispy on the outside and tender, fluffy on the inside. The menu features the usual items you’d expect from a barbecue joint and gives you options to buy a tray of selected meats, a sandwich, or by the pound." - Erika Adams

I've been to Reunion BBQ Boston twice now, and both times I had the pleasure of being served by Gus—hands down one of the best servers/bartenders I’ve come across. His service was top-notch, and he really knows his stuff, especially when it comes to the Whiskey Flight. His knowledge and recommendations were much appreciated and really added to the experience. The food here is just as impressive. The biscuit and gravy? Absolutely mouthwatering. The brisket was *oh so tender*—melts-in-your-mouth kind of good. I had the **chicken & waffle**; while the waffle was a bit thicker than I usually prefer, I still finished it, which says a lot! To top it all off, the banana pudding was the perfect ending—just the right size and sweet enough to finish the meal without feeling overstuffed. All in all, this place is a gem. Great vibes, amazing food, excellent service. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city—assuming I can find parking! Definitely recommend!

Wanted to get some BBQ and found this location that was an easy walk from where I was staying. Seemed very quiet for a Fri @1330, but that was ok with me. Location was very nice inside and had plenty of seating at the bar and in the dining room. Got the brisket off the lunch menu with 2 sides...was a bit disappointed in the amount of brisket for the lunch order, to be honest. Everything tasted fresh, and I got 3 different types of BBQ to use with my meal as well. This is probably more of a locals hangout spot, and their selection of alcohol seems fairly large, along with their menu, so you should be able to find something you'd enjoy.

The food arrived barely warm, with the pork belly outright cold. You can choose up to three meat types—ribs, pork belly, brisket, etc.—but portions are small, with just three thin slices per meat and tiny ribs with minimal meat. You also get 2 sides. They charge extra for a small cup of BBQ sauce, which is unusual for a BBQ joint. Despite the nearly empty restaurant, it took over 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Figured they were cooking it, but clearly it was precooked and sitting in unheated steam trays. The bathroom and dining area were clean. Parking is limited to the street and can be hard. Overall, the food quality was poor, and paying a premium for cold BBQ at a BBQ restaurant was disappointing. I won’t be back.

Google
Bloody amazing food at this joint. Rocked up for a very late lunch/early dinner, got the lunch deals with brisket for myself and ribs for my wife. SO DELICIOUS!! Got the sides of mac&cheese, maple Brussel sprouts, potatoes and corn. Again, SO DELICIOUS!! Only thing id recommend is the corn needs some salty butter as it’s a bit bland but other than that. Only thing that ticked me off was when I asked a waiter for the cheque he said I had to wait for the other waiter, who was nowhere in sight. I get that it’s done that way likely for the tips etc but if you’re needing to leave for something i.e sport events etc can you not just give me the bill? Still, the other man brought it to us and I was more than happy to tip the 20% cause it was delicious and the lady who first served us was lovely. Not a local but would 100% make it my go to if I was and will come back when I visit Boston again.

Google
Food was good. Really loved the chopped brisket and Brussels, we loved the fish and brisket taco. Chicken tinga wasn’t good at all so sorry. It was dry and flavorless. We also got the blueberry cobbler and it was salty and doughy but with less salt it would be really good. The margaritas took a little while to get to us, but they were absolutely worth the wait they were delicious & Camilla was very attentive and made sure my mom was happy with her food. Overall I’d recommend.

Google
Nice venue in a convenient location. Although the serving sizes were sufficient, the food and service were fair. We may try again.

Google
The waitress Sabrina was great. She was very accommodating however they were too busy and she needed help from other servers to accommodate our large party. The older gentleman with the glasses in the striped shirt. I believe he was the host. He got three orders wrong. We had to wait over 45 minutes for them to be fixed. We asked for a split check and he snapped at us and told us that he was too busy to accommodate us like that. Figure it out and get over it. We then wait an additional 20 minutes for the check so that we could figure out how to pay as a group we were a group of 15. Like I said our service Sabrina was great. She helped us as best she could. The food was great. The atmosphere was great but the older gentleman with the glasses in the front of house needs to be replaced.

Google
Great food! Some of the most tender brisket and ribs we've had all year! The crispy potatoes feel like a baked potato that jumped into the fryer. (Nothing wrong with that!) Total neighborhood bar, with a friendly bartender and servers. Short walk (.5 mile) from the Hilton Plaza Hotel.

Yelp
Order for pick up on toast, and had never heard of this restaurant before. When I went to pick up, the vibes inside were very nice. The Farmhouse Salad is SO GOOD. I'm the type of person that enjoys a well designed salad, and this hits all of the flavors and textures you need with some fresh, some roasted, some seeds, and the grapes. I put my pulled pork on top of my salad and that was ‍ Pulled pork was also great, I haven't had this before so I played it safe ordering that, but definitely will be trying ribs next time since the pulled pork was good. There was only a couple people when I went in for lunch, service was super duper quick.

Yelp
Went here to try out there food. Since it was Tuesday, we figured we'd try out the "Taco Tuesdays". 3 tacos for $15. With 3 margaritas and 3 tacos, it would be $30. A friend ordered the $30 Margarita/Taco combo with 3 different types of tacos. Since I do not drink alcohol, I just went for the $15 option for 3 tacos. Food wasn't bad so why the 1 star? If you only buy the 3 tacos for $15, you must choose the same tacos for all three. Yes, I said the food wasn't bad but I'd like to have more than 1 type of taco. The place was empty and the entire time we were there, nobody else came in to eat. It was lunch time. I can understand why. Why would anyone want to eat 3 tacos with that limit? Sorry, you lost a customer. Was going to come back to try the BBQ, but with Taco limit, it left a bad taste in me.

Yelp
We had a serious craving for BBQ and decided to give this place a shot. I ordered a two-meat combo featuring prime and chopped brisket, decadent mac and cheese, and freshly baked cornbread. Unfortunately, the meat lacked the robust flavors one expects from a good BBQ. The brisket was nowhere near prime; the portions were disappointingly small, and the chopped brisket was mushy and overly watery. The only redeeming elements were the delectable chicken wings and the warm, buttery biscuits, which left a memorable impression. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, and I was surprised to find it wasn't bustling with diners during our visit. The service was decent, but the meal fell short of our expectations.

Yelp
Girlfriend and I came out for Dine out Boston, haven't had BBQ in forever, was super excited... Arrived at 5:50 with a reservation, seated right away, got our order taken at 6:20, food came out at 6:50. Service in general was very slow, many angry customers around us, we even had to share menus because the table was sat with nothing. Food was barely warm when we got it. We asked the waiter for the sauces that came with the food. He said no and argued with us until we pulled up the menu and he gave the sauces, no apology. Food tasted like it was bought ready-made from star market. Vibes were okay at best. Overall, will not be coming back and will actively tell others not to come. Insane that the place is still open.

Yelp
Indifference was the theme of the night at Reunion BBQ on Saturday night, March 1. No one on the staff seemed to be at all concerned about anything. - When we asked questions about the food while ordering, our waiter didn't know the answers and did not seek them out. - When we asked about timing -- when the food would come out after waiting more than an hour -- we got the same indifference. (We allotted an hour & 45 minutes for dinner because we had theater tickets.) - When our food arrived, our orders were wrong. They sent us the wrong meats and sides. We did not speak up because we had waited so long that we had no time to eat before our show. I hate trashing out local businesses, but this was a disappointing experience all the way around.

Yelp
Had a great time dining at Reunion BBQ! The service is very friendly here and we enjoyed the food. We started with the buffalo cauliflower which had a nice kick to it. The homemade ranch and blue cheese also adds a nice touch! I got the chopped brisket sandwich which I enjoyed. My husband ordered the two meat combo with two sides. We were a bit disappointed with the portion size for this. For $27.99 we expected a much larger portion.

Yelp
Went there with couple of Friends, the food was amazing, we order all kinds of mean to try them, and were cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor. The atmosphere was great, and the server was super friendly, we stayed there until it close and even met the owner and had couple words with him. Definitely going back soon

Yelp
Zero of the 3 meats in my 3 meat platter had any discernible smoke flavor. No smoke ring. Ribs were unseasoned. Not underseasoned... completely unseasoned. Naked, and not in a good way. Brisket had an artificial aftertaste. Sausage was gray. Everything felt and tasted sad. This isn't barbecue. It's small servings of the meats that you would order at a barbecue restaurant, prepared by someone who has never had the real thing. Beans too sweet. Potato salad passable but boring. The highlight of the meal was the crispy potato side that my buddy got with his wings and the Alabama white sauce they came with. Should have gotten the burger.

Yelp
For a BBQ place in the North, I'll admit I was pleasantly surprised. At first I was wary, as you can't smell any smoke, smoked meats, or really anything upon entering. The restaurant is clean and nice, but I was expecting to smell something cooking. I ordered and the food came out fast. A little smaller portions than I was hoping for, but I didn't leave hungry. The ribs were great, the pulled pork was already sauced, and the brisket was a tad fatty. But overall I was happy. The sauce choices they give you are interesting. A North Carolina BBQ, Habanero BBQ, and a "Taxan" BBQ. The NC sauce was just straight vinegar as far as I could tell. I like vinegary sauces but I needed to use it in conjunction with the Taxan BBQ sauce which is the most "normal" of the 3. I'm not only super spicy BBQ sauce so I didn't try the Habanero one. If you want any other sauces they are unfortunately an extra 3 dollars. (Not sure the amount you receive but 3 whole dollars for a side of sauce feels extravagant). I got two sides with my platter, potato salad and BBQ beans. Both controversial sides in the South as everyone has their own twist and opinions on what is the "right" way. I can say the beans tasted more like chili than any beans I've had before. I didn't hate them. Just not what I was expecting. The potato salad was decidedly nothing like any southern potato salad I've ever had, but it was honestly one of the my favorite things. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely see myself going back, maybe trying a full rack of ribs since those were my favorite.

Yelp
I came here during Dine Out Boston with a friend and had an amazing experience! The vibes are cute, giving Southern vibes and it wasn't too busy when we went around 4pm. Their dinner prix fixe menu was a fantastic deal! For $46, you get 1 appetizer, a bbq plate which 4 meats + 4 sides, and 1 dessert. I ended up getting: - Mac and Cheese Bites for my appetizer: this was delicious! The ranch they have pairs great with the fried mac and cheese that was phenomenally seasoned. My friend got the biscuit that came with whipped honey cinnamon butter which was DELICIOUS. This is easily a must have since the biscuit was so soft and flakey and the sweet whipped butter just melts into the warm biscuit. - BBQ chopped brisket, sliced brisket, pork ribs and pork belly with sides of crispy potatoes, cole slaw, vegetables, and potato salad for my bbq plate. The star of the sides was easily the crispy potatoes. Let me tell you, the white bbq sauce to pair with the crispy potatoes is one of the best decisions ever. The crispy potatoes are wonderfully seasoned and pair amazingly with the bbq sauce. I could eat a whole bowl of the crispy potatoes. My favorite meat was either the pork belly or the BBQ chopped brisket. The brisket was so tender and soft while the pork belly was incredibly crispy. The rib wasn't anything special since it wasn't falling off the bone and the sliced brisket was alright too. The meats also came with three bbq sauces that you could add on! I think my favorite was the vinaigrette they had. - Chocolate Trifle Cup for dessert. This was a great way to round out my meal, but I unfortunately didn't end up finishing it because I was sooo full from the bbq plate! I really liked the contrast between the soft chocolate cake and the crunchy heath cookie bites at the bottom. Overall, great experience and can't wait to come back again! Parking is a bit tough around here, so I would just recommend taking the T. Also, service was great, special shout out to my server! I forgot my apple watch on the table and she made sure to keep it safe in the back.

Yelp
The food has clearly been sitting there for a while. the service was not great but it seemed like our server was there for a while. I went with one other person and they tacked on an unreasonable amount of gratuity and kitchen fees. I'm all for that when people show up in a big group but that's totally unreasonable for two people. The kitchen fees were quite egregious too considering my Mac n cheese was cold. You can find much better bbq in Boston for a lower price and better service.

Yelp
Quaint, friendly, and eclectic. What a wonderful experience! As part of dine out Boston, we decided to try Reunion BBQ. Street parking is available, but can be a little tight. Reunion BBQ is a very nice spot with an upscale feel for barbecue, but also offers a bar, patio and nice upbeat music. I'm told live music is coming on Fridays. They are actively looking for performers for regular sets. Patrons were eclectic in nature from, families, couples, girl and guy groups chilling inside and on the patio, also at the bar. It seems to be a place for all ages. This is refreshing! But the food! OMG! We had the barbecue sampler plate, which included four meats and four sides, and a dessert. See the attached pictures. The food was delicious!!! Meats were tender, and the sides were all really good. The meats are served without sauce, and were excellent! Three sauces were provided. One was Texas style, one vinegary, and lastly habanero. I partook of none of that! We have added this to our repeat list. Give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. We definitely weren't!
google avatar

Yelp
Sadly not the spot for bbq! Service was quick and friendly but not the most attentive, and the restaurant has kind of an industrial feel for somewhere you're eating. In general, the meat was a bit tough and dry, and the sauce was a little too thin to really go well with the food. Buffalo cauliflower wings were surprisingly crispy and hot! A good amount of spice and the ranch was perfect Pork belly buns were hard to bite into, but the flavor was great We got the two meat combo tray with pulled pork and brisket. It's a decent serving size, but the meat could've been more tender A solid location with a lot of street parking nearby, but there are certainly better bbq options in the Boston area.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time at Reunion BBQ on 439 Tremont St in Boston, MA. This hidden gem in the south end is a flavor-packed delight for your taste buds. The manager, who was incredibly accommodating, helped us choose the perfect dishes for our meal. We kicked off our dining experience with their signature cocktail drinks, including the delightful sangria and the paloma roja with tequila. Both were scrumptious and set the stage for the BBQ feast that awaited us. For starters, we indulged in their heavenly biscuits with honey-cinnamon butter and strawberry jam. The biscuits were pillowy soft, and the specialty butter elevated them to a solid 9/10. Next up were the mac and cheese bites, which were like pasta-filled arrancini. Though not as cheesy as expected, they still paired well with the jalapeno ranch dressing, earning a decent 5/10. The crispy potato bites were a must-try for any potato lover. Cooked to perfection, they scored an impressive 8/10. Moving on to the main course, we opted for two meat combo trays with a choice of two sides. The standout sides were the cole slaw (8/10) and the mouthwatering mac n cheese with delightful breadcrumbs on top (8/10). Among the meats, the sausage, pulled pork, and pulled chicken stole the show. Perfectly cooked and complemented by a selection of three barbecue sauces, the customization options were a highlight! Save room for dessert because the Banana Pudding (9/10) and Chocolate Trifle (9/10) are absolute winners. The chocolate trifle boasts a delightful nutty crunch, while the banana pudding is a heavenly mix of whipped cream and vanilla wafers. Both desserts and the biscuits stole the spotlight! If you're in Boston craving BBQ, Reunion BBQ is the place to be. They offer specials, brunch, and catering options too! Food: 7/10 Affordability: 7/10 Ambiance: 6/10 Highly recommended for a delightful BBQ experience in Boston!

Yelp
Reunion BBQ Feast! Pork Belly Buns, Wings, and a Single Biscuit to kick things off. For the main course, we've got the 3 Meat Combo: Pulled Pork, Pork Ribs, and Sliced Prime Beef with a side of Mac & Cheese. Don't forget to save room for dessert - their decadent Chocolate Trifle. And wash it all down with their signature cocktails: Paloma Roja with tequila, hibiscus syrup, and grapefruit soda, or the Tropical Playa with Bacardi coconut, Cazadores, and pineapple. Service was good and attentive! Had a great BBQ look to it as you walk with the pretty decor.

Yelp
Dear Reunion BBQ, I'm not leaving you a bad review. I want you to succeed. I want you to do well. You have great food. You have a great staff. BUT...you're doing everything else wrong. We came on a warm early spring Friday night at peak dinner rush and you were mostly empty. You did however have ear piercingly loud live music. The food came out shockingly fast AND it was all good. Really Good. But there's a few things you have got to change: 1. No more live music, the acoustics here are not built for that. You have brick walls buddy. 2. Turn down the interrogation lights. It's too bright in here for human eyes. 3. You are sorely understaffed. You need a bar back, a floor manager and a busser. Quick before you lose these good people who are working hard. 4. Add Corn Bread to the menu. Everything else was perfect. You just need sone minor changes and this place will be amazing. Please don't sleep on these things.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my dinner here last night! Service was quick and friendly! The meat on my sandwich was delicious and I really enjoyed the side salad I chose to get with it. You also get 3 different bbq sauces to put on your meat. We made a reservation but it was not really needed as there is plenty of seating. I will be back.

Yelp
Newly opened spot - delicious food and drinks! Ordered biscuits, wings and mac and cheese and everything was yummy! Full bar, great espresso martinis and friendly service. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
We had good food and excellent service. Not your traditional barbecue from the south, but it was a good place with nice ambience.

Yelp
We were staying close to the restaurant when we wanted a quick bite to pick up for lunch. I submitted an order online and went in to pick it up. When I went to the restaurant it wasn't too busy but had a very fun vibe with a full bar. The person at the front was very friendly and when he checked on my order he said it would be a few more minutes. We ordered the farmhouse salad, chopped salad, pulled pork sandwich, and crispy pork belly BLT. Everything was really tasty and would definitely consider ordering the same if we ever go back.
google avatar

Allie S.

Yelp
Spacious BBQ restaurant offering both a brunch and regular menu on weekends. Since it was too early for a meat heavy plate I opted for the chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and was coated with a slightly spicy honey. Everything was freshly made and tasted great. The limited staff I saw was very friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Would love to return and try their 3 meat platter.

Yelp
Note: My review only pertains to the happy hour dollar wings and $5 margaritas and beer. My friends and I were there in a Monday evening to celebrate a birthday. It was pretty empty, at the end of the night, there were 2 groups and a couple people at the bar. The wings weren't skin and bone and are pretty good considering they're a dollar each. Out of the 3 flavors: dry rub, buffalo, hot honey, the hot honey was the best, then buffalo, then dry rub. The dry rub was pretty flavorless. The margaritas were also pretty worth it, they were better than I expected. You could taste the alcohol, it wasn't just juice. No choice of flavor, but it's $5. You also can't choose the beer, but you get a half pint (ish) for $5 and it was fine. There were only 1-2 servers on the floor so it did feel like he was stretched pretty thin.

Yelp
Ordered takeout so can't speak much to the service and ambience. The food was yummy - the whipped butter was magical. Would order again.

Yelp
The pulled pork belly was that's my number 1 recommendation for sure. I'm visiting from out of town and will definitely be back when I'm back in Boston. I also have to say those biscuits are home made. I love when the biscuit can hold the butter AND melt in your mouth... these babies delivered Thanks to Joel for being a server. He was super attentive and we just felt at home. THANKS For the good time & great food

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.25 stars Food: American and bbq styled food, we visited Friday for their cowboy night and got the cowboy shots and some beef bbq ribs Texture: ribs were slick and delicious Pricing: $40 for ribs and $28 for 3 cowboy shots (the cowboy combo) Ambiance: looks like a southern ranch with cowboy themed decor Seating & Parking: plenty of seating inside and outside, if the weather permits it I'd definitely say to sit outside or by the bar Service: friendly and quick Music: country music Bathrooms: male and female Final comments: a solid spot for a unique experience! Friday night is cowboy night and line dancing!

Yelp
Totally generic space painted dark grey, feels more like a battleship than a BBQ joint, thr few decorations strewn around (steer heads, small rope coils that look like exposed electric wiring ) are far too small for the space) and the mottled grey (slippery!) floors needs to be wood to warm things up. (Pretty sure masa before had had wood floors). Menu is printed in tiny boring type and is both hard to read and lacks any style. Basically the place has no personality whatsoever Prices are not bad and you get the normal range of meats available in trays or sandwiches. Nothing innovative here, but the food is actually very good, and prices reasonable I had the dry-rubbed wings, which were meaty and nicely cooked - 8 out of 10. The biscuit was a little crispy outside and fluffy inside. Very good. For a main course I has a two-meet platter that comes wirh two sides, and some Pickles and onions. I had pork belly, which was soft and well cooked and delicious, and the sliced brisket was also very good. Mac and cheese and bbq beans were both good versions of those staples. If you are familiar with the Boston BBQ scene, this place is better than The Smokehouse but not quite as great as Sweet Cheek's - which is pretty high praise. Service was also capable, helpful, and friendly with everything explained, questions asked and refills offered. Just a star off for the off-putting lack of atmosphere and personality.

Yelp
First time trying this spot May 24, 23 ordered dinner for work tonight. I ordered the BBQ Chopped Prime Brisket with side of Mac & cheese, Collard Greens, BBQ Beans! The prime brisket was marinated deliciously and was so tender freshly cooked and to die for!!! The bbq sauce tasty! The Mac & cheese was perfect cooked not over cooked, breadcrumbs tasted fresh really cheesy and a good balance not salty. Collard greens where fresh and excellent I ate all of them! The Bbq beans where delicious I love baked beans and these beans hit the spot! For dessert I got Banana Bread French Toast it was enormous whipped cream fresh sliced, bananas with a syrup on it, it was warm moist and so so GOOD!

Yelp
Tucked away at the top of the South End on Tremont street, this place could be easy to miss on first glance. This place has a casual ambience and a full bar -- pretty unique for Boston! The food is solid. The brisket and the ribs were both very tender and flavorful. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. I will be returning soon!

Yelp
The restaurant is clean and we were greeted nicely. We ordered the biscuits as a appetizer. They were a bit too crunchy but the inside was soft and the butter melded nicely. I don't think I would order them again, only 4 offered. I ordered the 3 meat combo platter. 2 ordered a of ribs and sliced brisket. The sides were fried potatoes and collard greens. The meat was tender with some flavor but was missing enough to make it enjoyable. It also had NO smoke flavor. Don't know how this can be can be considered real BBQ. The fried potatoes were excellent but the greens lacked real flavor. This was consistent for all of the meats we received. They all NEEDED sauce to have any flavor. Then when we received the bill, there was a 3% charge for the kitchen workers. This was part of the bill and added to the total. Why are you charging me an additional fee for food, that wasn't that good? This resulted in a smaller tip for the waitress's. Who was very good. We will not come back to this restaurant based on this experience. Do not agree with the kitchen staff charge and the food was not up to the mark. I am surprised this place has 4 stars on Yelp. This is not what I expect from Yelp reviews.

Yelp
I was here with Just Sisters Ministry for dinner 07/26/24!!! My food was excellent. Restaurant was very clean and service was excellent!!! Thank you. The owner and staff served with a smile. Thank you for giving the community a good place to eat.

Yelp
I enjoy barbecue spots and haven't tried this place yet. So , I was down street and stopped in to try wings and brisket. I sat at bar for a water and ordered food and he asked if to go and I said no... I would eat there. Only 2 people in restaurant. Took awhile for food.. going out in takeout bag and in boxes bound in Saran wraps and take out utensils, a little container of sauce. So, ate in vehicle and needed a knife to cut through all Saran Wrap. I ordered wings , 1/4 lb sliced brisket, 1/4 lb chunk barbecue brisket. Sliced brisket was very good... needed a bigger container for dipping in sauce. The chunk brisket was more like pulled brisket and was just ok. The wings for 13 bucks... only small six ones... 3 sauces to choose were Buffalo, hot honey, dry rub... I ordered hot honey and as Forrest Gump would say... never know what you will get... wings had no hot honey on them and no dry rub , so dry wings and no flavors... disappointed Then bill they add 3% kitchen appreciation charge ?? I am appreciating a kitchen for incorrect dry wings, chunk brisket pulled style vs chunks like I saw in picture on Yelp ?? Receipt says take out, so bar tender screwed that up . Sweet Cheeks or Smoke House , Blue Ribbon next time Check out this photo I saw on Yelp! https://yelp.to/1tHo9z1iz3... not what my chunk brisket looked like

Yelp
We came here on a Wednesday night. The staff was friendly and helpful. They are about 3 months old. We got the 3 Meat Platter, BUFFALO CAULIFLOWER WINGS, Hot Honey Wings, Biscuits, & Pork Belly BLT Sandwich. I selected Brisket,Ribs and Hot Links. It came with 2 sides . I chose Mac& cheese and Crispy Potatoes Bites. They were delicious. The Buffalo Cauliflower Wings was crunchy and yummy. The Biscuits were soft and had a sweet cinnamon butter. The Pork Belly BLT was decent. Overall, a great date night

Stephen G.

Yelp
Pretty good bbq ribs in the south end. Not the best bbq I've had but pretty decent. The wet ribs were meaty and tasty. Not smoky, not too fatty. Potato bits as a side were incredible. Cole slaw also good. Nice bar and dining area. Friendly staff. Worth a try.

Yelp
Got takeout from here last night. Service was really fast using the Toast Tab app. The pulled Chicken was great, barbecue sauce flavorful, but not too spicy. The crispy potatoes are like massive fires that are soft and fluffy in the middle. Mashed potatoes and fried chicken were good as well. Prices were reasonable for a nice south end restaurant. They do charger a 3% kitchen fee.

Don V.

Yelp
Let's start off by saying the pulled pork sandwich and crispy potato bites were excellent. The ribs, even though advertised as dry rubbed, needed "something." (i.e. BBQ sauce baked in.) Here are my issues: Wait staff needs training. Server brought our bottle of wine and placed it on the table, unopened. Twist cap, so not hard. But zero presentation, no tasting. Our water glasses went un-refilled. Dirty plates remained on the table, despite my moving them to the edge of the table. The buffalo chicken wing appetizer had no kick. There is NO mention of the "kitchen fee" on their website. I do not like surprises. We will not be returning.

Yelp
First rate BBQ - and the sides were terrific. Mac & Cheese is a must. Host and service was excellent, and the ambience was cool... cowhide covered carved wood barstools and cozy booths. Nice drink list variety. Busy on a weeknight but not too loud, and sports on the bar tv's is always good. Walking distance to the Common and Copley ...add to favorites.

Yelp
Traveling from California, we made it a point to eat at Reunion BBQ tonight after our son had seen amazing reviews about it on TikTok! This place didn't disappoint. In fact, we were incredibly impressed with its food, customer service and ambience. Jim was such a personable and knowledgeable server/bartender who made the best suggestions on the food and drink menu. We loved everything we got, including the dry rub pork ribs (to die for!), pulled pork, two kinds of brisket and the yummy sides (mac 'n cheese, collard greens, Texas toasts and coleslaw). And the banana pudding was a perfect way to end this super delicious meal! If we were locals, we'd most definitely eat here regularly. We highly recommend Reunion BBQ!!

Yelp
Went there before attending an event at the Boston Center for the Arts. It was outstanding, The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders were not what I expected, Larger than Life and my son had the Slice Brisket. Well worth the visit here.

Yelp
We can't wait to come back to Reunion BBQ! Everything we tried was delicious. The Mac and cheese bites are worth the hype, especially with the jalapeño ranch sauce. The drinks are also so good, especially the Paloma Roja. The service was also super friendly and seem like all around great people. We're excited to go back on a Tuesday for Trivia or on a Saturday, when they open up the seating area and turn it into a dance party!

Yelp
the food was excellent!!!! one of the best places I have been to in Boston. If you are looking for a place with soul food this is it!!! inexpensive on some items but the it is very worth it! you have to be sure to buy the biscuits. you won't regret it!!

Yelp
I went on a Sunday around 11:30am, I thought it would be the best time as brunch is typically around that time on Sundays-- boy was I wrong. The first red flag should've been the rather empty establishment and the waiters comment on the staff being late. But anyways, the food just wasn't hitting like it should've for southern cuisine and I'm from the south (NC). We got the bottomless brunch special. The meat felt reheated/microwavable and the food overall just felt very bland and unseasoned. The cornbread was dry and the brisket hash was flavorless. The desserts were subpar, felt like baby food. The redeemable food item was the french toast and cole slaw. Would I come again, most likely not. Do I recommend, probably not. Giving this place a 2/5 feels generous. I'd give it a 1.5/5. The service was okay.

Yelp
Great place! Cool live music. Who doesn't like southern food? Plus they have a full bar and it's super close to downtown - great!

Yelp
I enjoyed eating here for brunch! They have a lot of options including BBQ and more traditional brunch. Would recommend!

Yelp
I will be back to try some other entrees but today was simple and good ,The Fried Chicken Sandwich was good, the Carolina Vinegar Sauce was bland though and the collard greens were hot but had no flavor. The chicken portion was big, The staff was great , the atmosphere was good but I didnt get the loud top 40 music playing, the menu printing was so small you couldnt read it , I wish them the best here just needs a few adjustments

Yelp
This place is great. Their ribs and really good (5/5) and I also liked their chicken and brisket (4/5). Great sides, I have enjoyed their mac and cheese, collard greens, cole slaw, and potato salad. Their plates also come with some pickles that were good. Service is great. I feel like this place is not near many other restaurants so it is not as busy as usual, but I really recommend checking it out, especially for some bbq that is now too heavy.

Yelp
Came on the soft open / opening night! Great to have a solid BBQ spot in the area (was lacking). I've been to a couple other soft opens and it can be pretty inconsistent. Food-wise they did an excellent job. I had a full rack of St. Louis style ribs - which were smoky, meaty and tender / fall off the bone. Tried to spicy BBQ sauce which was unique / interesting (and good). The mac and cheese was quite solid and I really enjoyed the potato wedges which were really thick but also still crispy. My wife tried the brisket which was a very long cut and she liked the potatoes as well. I recommend giving this place a try if you like BBQ! Pretty decent value too (as BBQ can get pricey)

Yelp
I've been to Reunion BBQ for dinner at least seven times and once for brunch so far, and while the food was great the first time, it has gotten better and better! My husband and I usually eat dinner on the earlier side, but it's fun to go to Reunion BBQ a bit later on a Friday, when there's live music after 6 pm. There was a really festive atmosphere last night on December 22nd, with a visit from Santa (part of the musical group) delighting the crowd! The servers and manager are really attentive to their customers, and the service generally is very personable. It was nice to see some local families with their children. They may have come specifically for the holiday atmosphere, but it was fun! I ordered a half slab of dry rub pork ribs with the collard greens and potato salad sides, plus their homemade buttermilk ranch dressing and North Carolina vinegar based BBQ sauce. Everything was yummy! After visiting every other BBQ joint in the Boston area (RIP Soulfire), Reunion BBQ is my hands down favorite!
