A very cool creative space for artists of all kind. We passed by it during a stroll in Carytown and saw that there was going to be a live Jazz performance at 8 pm. Since we didn't eat dinner yet, we circled back here after finishing up dinner.
Surprisingly, the place was already packed. There was limited seating where the live performance was being held near the front of the establishment. Which was slightly disheartening because I was hoping for a casual sit down and didn't fancy standing during the performance. It was also a $15 cover charge for the band that was playing. I believe their band name was Sweet Potato's. Fortunately, they had a back lounge seating area which is a $5 ish cover charge. I thought it was odd at first that they were charging to sit in the lounge area and assumed it was probably because there was a live band playing at the moment so you could potentially come to the front and enjoy the music.
After working our way to the back lounge area, I soon understood why there was a cover for it. It was a huge creative space. If you could look inside of an artists' mind, this is probably what you'll find. So many things to see, so many things happening, so many things to do. There's easels all around so people can freely sketch/draw, pianos, guitars, violin, sand art table, dummy with imitation skin to practice tattooing, etc.
I loved that each table you sat at had a table number with a QR code to order your drink on your phone. You can keep the tab open or close out once you have placed your order.
I really enjoyed my time here and if I lived in the area I would definitely come every weekend. Not even to drink or anything but to do artsy things in a different environment that opens my mind to creativity.
