As a North Denver native I was excited to try Revelry Kitchen because we have heard great things and driven by numerous times always seeing a steady line of customers.
Service: We were greeted promptly and although there were several available tables we were told it would be a 15 minute wait to be seated due to a large party. We choose to sit at the bar. Our drinks were served quickly but the food took about 45 minutes. We were checked on a few times. We could hear what sounded like confusion in the kitchen and observed a few plates come back for various reasons. When our food arrived there was no apology for the wait, leading us to believe this may be normal.
Drinks: We ordered a Michelada and a Lavender Lemonade ($8) house infused blueberry vodka, lavender bitters & lemonade. I was disappointed that the Michelada ($6) was actually just a red beer (Clamato & Tecate), in fairness it said that on the menu, I just expected spices. I added salt and hot sauce from the kitchen. My wife enjoyed the Lavender Lemonade.
Food: We ordered:
Lobster Stuffed Baker ($16) 2 eggs, lobster, cheddar, cotija, black bean corn salsa, whipped potatoes and creama. Again, I was disappointed the twice baked was very dry & crispy and I had to add ketchup to finish.
Benedict Andy ($15) house made andouille sausage, pepper & onion and cajun hollandaise. It was very good, the English muffin andouille sausage both homemade and tasty.
Overall: We hope we caught the kitchen and staff on a bad day however, we will not be returning. There are too many great choices within walking distance. As a supporter of the community I encourage you to try the place for yourself.
