Reverend Nat's has been a local Portland staple for many years now. This established brand will have something wild and surprising. I love the NEW location! Whether dry or sweet, you are bound to find something you will enjoy. Plenty to eat at the food carts nearby, or if you're waiting for a table nearby. Order togo, and just chill with a yummy cider. It was very sad to learn that Reverend Nat's is closing, Nat and his team have continually provided outstanding and unusual hard ciders. If you are able to make it in before their closing I highly suggest pick up some of the Wooden Hellfire, it is an awesome experience. The cider community will undoubtedly feel a profound loss with the closure of Reverend Nat's. Their ciders have been more than just beverages; they've been a source of inspiration and a testament to what passionate craftsmanship can achieve. While it's a bittersweet farewell, we can take solace in the fact that we had the privilege of savoring their creations while they were in operation. Reverend Nat's, you will be missed. Thank you for the incredible beverages you've allowed us to sample over the years.

beautiful ciders in both color and taste; I can’t say enough about the collaboration with Seven Bridges, Cider for My Family. I didn’t think I’ve ever tasted such a perfect intersection of these two adjacent beverages — cider and wine — not such a mellow but continuously interesting balance of spice, sweet and tart. We had trouble picking favorites in the flights; they’re all favorites. Thanks for a great evening, Nat & fam!

Great setup for a cider house. I liked the selection of ciders on tap. They seem to have one for every pallette. The space had a nice relaxing local hangout feel to it. As far as the ciders I liked the Grande Fresca and the Date night the best.

Cider nouveau with a nod to traditional flavors and apple and pear varieties. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Rev Nat's will convert strict beer drinkers into cider lovers and cider lovers into Rev Nat's zealots. This is a haven for the GF crowd who are tired of the same old boring GF alcoholic drinks. Expect collaborative brewings, celebratory events, and easily recognizable (old world apothecary style simple black and white) branding with occasional one of a kind artwork on the labels. I've been trying to get here since it opened, and this is my first trip. I met the Reverend at the Portland Cider Festival several years ago when his Revival and Hallelujah Hopricot we're just about ready to hit commercial production. The Hopricot was my first hopped cider and it blew my mind. I've had several since and it's really my favorite. I think the apricot balances the hops really well. If you are new to hard cider, you can have some wonderful, approachable ciders, and if you're a cider veteran, you will find many choices to excite you. The Tent Show ciders will blow your mind. The Two Year Aged Wooden Hellfire I'm drinking right now should probably be called a pommeau (like Calvados) except that he kept it just under liquor levels of alcohol. They are interesting and even weird. (A previous one had a leg of lamb soaking in it during fermentation, and there's a strawberry rhubarb pie one right now that involves whole pies, crust and all.) Come here, drink and spread the word.

When we were in Portland last summer we stumbled upon Nat's Sacrilege Sour Cherry cider and since then I've wanted to come back and try others. Tonight we tested the flight of all 12 ciders! Definitely would recommend! And if you need a snack the pretzel was delicious. (We also took the hint of visiting Sizzle Pie as well and this was fantastic too!) We'll be back for sure! Now we just need Nat's up in Canada...

Sorry to see this place go…. The taproom is next to Farmhouse Carts which makes grabbing something to eat with your cider a breeze. Had #11 with my khao soy from Thai Burger. And a #3 after my meal. Also grabbed a few to bring home. May return next week to get some of their limited selections before everything disappears.

Reverend Nat's Hard Cider recently provided a fun and refreshing spin to hard cider for Steve and myself! We got the Winter In Valencia, a spiced, herbed cider that we really liked a lot! The presence of clove gives the cider an essence that you may have around Christmas or New Years. Well, those holidays have already passed at the time but it still makes a great cider to have in the winter. Another abundant characteristic to this cider is Orange. From what we gathered Orange Juice is added to this cider recipe. The cider is very smooth but also a bit thicker in body that you would associate cider with which makes this more robust and perfect for the cold winter months. Really looking forward to exploring more with Reverend Nat's Cider's simply because if their uniqueness.

I never thought hard cider would taste the good! The assortment of flavors with alcohol content, matches perfectly! Must try - Sangria, Pineapple, and original Apple

I've loved the cider for years and very happy with the support that they've given to communities in need so I was eager to try their physical location. They've got a great tap list (the Violently Coconut sour was something I won't soon forget) and friendly staff. The inside looked hospitable but I was all about the back porch area which has several picnic tables in a dog-friendly area. There's a lot of food carts in the lot as well to chose from. Our dog is very happy we found a new place to bring her!

I started getting Rev Nat's ciders via home delivery a few years back, and I'd always enjoyed them immensely. When circumstance made it so I could finally go to and be a regular at their taproom, I was super excited, but fate had other plans. I'm sad to see this place go, but I'm glad I got to experience it while it lasted! Rev Nats really did put out the most interesting ciders, and I can say that I never tasted one I didn't like (though I guess my tastes are pretty broad). I think my favorites I got a chance to try would be Valley of the Pear and the "Rotating Seasonal." I also want to say that the ambiance is super chill and welcoming (even for someone terminally awkward like myself). So thankful for the time I spent here. You will be missed!

We LOVE Reverend Nat's! Service is great, people are wonderful and they have our favorite Ciders. It is always a safe place to hangout!

Nat transformed the cider industry in Portland (and therefore arguably the worLe) and my life is forever improved from drinking his delicious ciders!!

I've been excited to check out Reverend Nat's Hard Cider Taproom for some time now as I've tasted a few of their ciders from various cider festivals. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 3:00pm). It wasn't too busy but they had an unreal Black Friday deal on their bottles and cases. Normally, their bottles are $7.00 US (500ml) and $12.00 US (750ml). There's a menu by the bar along with a paper menu with descriptions. Flights are $16.00 US (for 6) or $28.00 US (to try all 12). They even have a hot cider option! - Flight ($16.00 US for 6) - we opted for the sacrilege sour cherry (#2), Oktober apfelwein (#4), friendsgiving collab with Daidala (#6), valley of the pear (#9), providence (#11) and tepache navidad (#12). Sour cherry was okay but very subtle in cherry flavour. Apfelwein had some spice notes but wasn't memorable. Our favourite was the friendsgiving collab which went down easy (tasted like juice)! All I got from the pear was an artificial vanilla flavour. It smelled similar to cream soda. The providence was our least favourite; the after taste was unpleasant and the only flavour I could taste was something similar to rice soy milk. The providence was the other one we liked. It reminded me of cooked pineapple. Sadly, we didn't love any of the ciders at Nat's.

Stopped in here a few times for some events. The most recent one was where they had some different flavored watermelon ciders. They are pretty creative as they used the melon as a mock keg and installed a tap on the side of the melon. I really like the place itself, it has a relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to start the night at. I also love places with all the brewing equipment behind the bar. Now the ciders themselves are no slouch either. The Viva la pineapple one they have is amazing. I'm surprised for how pineapple like the taste is that it's around 6% ABV. They also had a stout that I was pretty fond of as well. You can also bring your own food if you want to have a snack with the ciders as they don't have a food menu right now. I am keeping my eyes open for more great events from this place.

Super fortunate for rev nats during the covid19 crisis. I live in Tigard, ordered my cider and beer online through the Rev nats website and the next day I got my goods! So thankful for you guys!! Plus the Mandarin cider is delicious! I also can't wait to try the chocolate IPA! Thanks again you guys (and gals)! *Update* the Stormbreaker Old town brewing collaboration beer is amaaaazing! First Chocolate IPA I've ever had and it's definitely TDF!

I was in Portland this past weekend and we went here right before Christmas. I just loved the feel of the tasting room, the staff and the cider. The tasting room was warm and inviting and the cider tap list was extensive. If you love cider, you must not miss this taproom. Amazing options and a great environment. I will be back next time I'm in Portland.

I've loved there cider since I hat Rev Nat's cherry cider at Highland Park Bowl in LA. Truly unique and delicious ciders. Never too sweet, always complex and interesting.

We came here after my brother had highly recommended it. Conveniently, it's located a short walk from Moda Center stadium, so we hung out here before a Portland Trailblazers basketball game. 12 different ciders. Happy hour from 4-6pm. Incredible menu of different ciders and cider flights are included in the happy hour. All flights are 5 oz pours in each glass. My favourites were the passionfruit and pineapple flavours. But all the ciders I tried were SO GOOD. During happy hour, you get a free snack mix with coconut, banana chips, and nuts with a bit of heat - also fantastic! Reverend Nat's was definitely one of the key highlights of my trip to Portland. I will come here again next time I'm in Portland, absolutely!

Great spot for some innovative ciders. Always a palate pleaser. Bring food because this stuff goes down really easy. Food carts next door are an easy win. Great bar too!

Reverend Nat's hard cider is super tasty! I enjoy that they are always coming up with some interesting new flavors, none of which are super sweet. I enjoy coming to this tasting room because the bar area is right near where they make the cider. I know this doesn't make the cider taste better, but I love the ambiance. You can order up a pint of cider, or if you are undecided you can try a bunch of flavors with the sample tasting tray. Each time I have visited the tasting room of Rev Nat's I find new cider favors on the menu to try. The people working behind the bar have always been very helpful with their suggestions. Last time I was in they suggested I try the sour cherry cider. I was a little concerned as I'm pretty picky about artificial cherry flavoring (it easily can remind me of awful tasting cough syrup). The bartender assured me that this cherry flavor would not be like that, and she was right. In the last few days I've been regretting not bringing any bottles of this home with me. Another nice thing about Reverend Nat's cider is it can be found in many retail locations around Portland; including Fred Meyer and Plaid Pantry. If you are a huge fan of hard cider or just starting to get into it, I would highly suggest swinging by this tasting room and giving Reverend Nat's a try. This cider is of great quality and will not disappoint!

I'm not going to lie, I like Cider Bite better but only because their drinks are a lot sweeter! I shared 2 flights with my friends and it wasn't our favorite. I admit, it was unique but there was something about it that said more beer than cider. Ambiance wise, the place was really cool because the tables were huge barrels and they had a real industrial feel. They also had board games to chill with as well. No food, but I've seen a lot of people bring in some pizza from next store. Overall, I'm not going to knock it of any stars because it's simply not my taste.

I'm really pretty disappointed that I *wasn't* as impressed, because I definitely expected to be. I'd had one of their super-limited-edition ciders at a beer event several months ago (first time I heard of them), and that one was fantastic, so I was really happy when I discovered I was staying at an airbnb basically down the street from them. Obviously it was the first thing on my list when I got to Portland, and obviously I got a flight. They had about a dozen ciders on tap when we got there, and all of them *sounded* really interesting, exactly the sort of wacky stuff I love seeing from craft places, so it was a hard choice picking 6 from the list (a flight is any 6 ciders of your choice, for $17.) Then I sampled the 6 I chose, and I thought they were all pretty good, but none of them were amazing. This place definitely skews towards the unusual, which I like, but a lot of them were just a little *too* unusual (notably: the aquavit-aged cider, which it turns out tastes exactly like you would expect cider and aquavit together to taste like.) To be fair, I probably would also have liked it more if we hadn't happened to show up, it turned out, right as Tuesday night trivia was starting, meaning it was almost impossible to find a seat, and we couldn't really ask too many questions because they were mega-busy. I probably could have asked for a couple splashes first, though, but it was cider! I never have cider I don't love! (It still wasn't *bad* though, it just didn't live up to my admittedly very high expectations, mostly.)

Always feels like a very personal experience, knowledgeable and friendly staff willing ti share stories and information about their spectacular cider offerings. Cosy seating area tucked in under a warehousey mezzanine, right next to the fermenting vessels gives you full exposure to the smells of fresh fruit and yeast. Only drawback is no food, although there are nearby opportunities which may be available when you visit. Rev Nats cherry cider on draft cannot be beat! I always pick up a couple hand pulled bottles to-go to give as gifts.

They've got some legit ciders on tap and they're delicious, but the dudes working both had a weird, pretentious vibe, which didn't really work out for them because neither seemed to know what was going on at any given moment. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but the overall vibe here on a Saturday evening wasn't chill. I felt pretty out of place. Don't have any plans to return.

I am a beer guy. I love all kinds of beer, and I have never really taken a liking to cider. Reverend Nat's is an exception. I first heard of this place from the Portland Christmas Market, and I was shocked at how delicious their cider was. Their taproom was not crowded on a Friday night and had a very interesting appeal (almost warehouse-y), and the staff are very friendly. I tried a few ciders on the sweeter side as well as a Radler. Divine. You can opt for a 5oz pour or a 13 oz pour, and some of the 5oz pours are only $2. Two bucks for a few sips of really good cider is well worth it. Highly recommend if you are either trying to get into ciders or already love the drink. Something for everyone!

I admit that going to a bar to see your ex whom you are ready to throttle might not place a person in a generous state of mind---but still this place sucked. The cider was sweet and nasty tasting like cider cough syrup, the bartender was surly, and the place closed too early. The atmosphere is that this bar is way cooler than you are. I might give it another chance since I genuinely love cider and would like to like this place. Not so far.

Popped in looking for some new ciders and did went for the Dirty Dozen and were pleasantly surprised by a Lucky Thirteen warmed cider with amazing aroma and flavors. These guys don't disappoint. Terrific atmosphere with helpful staff and friendly locals. They had some amazing flavors and we left with some new favorites. Important side note ... make sure you've eaten, as the only "food" here are their roasted hazelnuts and fresh baked pretzels with their amazing cider mustard.

I am not normally a cider fan since sweet isn't my thing but with so many ciders to try at Reverend Nat's it be hard not to find one you liked and I was able to find many that were on the dry side. The barrel tables were a cool touch. The actual bar is a little small and its on the darker side inside but feels kind of open.

Oh man this cider place was SO GOOD! Really some of the best cider I've had. You can get at 12oz or a smaller sampler or sample all of them for about $25. I opted to get one, I had a ginger tonic that me that was really excellent. I also sampled a watermelon one that was easily the best cider I've had. It was so flavorful and had a really strong watermelon flavor which can be a difficult flavor to taste sometimes. I also got a bottle of this to go. There were so many options it was difficult to choose from. I would definitely recommend a stop here for some top notch ciders.

A hearty AMEN for the garage sale deals! I love cider and never tried Rev Nat's until now. Add me as one of your many devoted parishioners- this cider is heavenly! Granny Smith Apple was crisp, clean, tart, and refreshing- a beautiful respite from microbrews. Cool low key, casual spot to relax & drink cider in the tasting room. Pine State biscuits & Sizzle Pie around the corner to buy food and bring to Rev Nat's. No trouble finding a place to park in the hood. Hallelujah Rev Nat! Our friends will join us in singing your praises as we enjoy the bounty of our take home cans of cider.

Decided to check out this place on a whim and had no regrets! I had these: Cherry - Subtle cherry flavor Pineapple - not so subtle, very much pineapple flavor Grapefruit - tart and subtle bitter at the end I liked that their flavors were not too sweet and great options for flavors! Not a huge seating area with a very laid back atmosphere.

The pineapple cider is just to die for. Better than what I could dream of or ever want! Such a nice tasting room with a cozy, low key vibe. Keep it up Rev! My votes are a taro or shiso blend

Let me start off by saying the cider was Incredible and has nothing to do with this review. Please drink it. My review is solely based on the lack of service we received. My boyfriend and I walked in and were the 2nd and 3rd customer currently present. We got our drinks and received two "how's it going over here??" Pass by checkins. We didn't even have an opportunity to say more than "great..." before the bartender walked by and didn't look back. She then proceeded to speak with one man at the bar for 45 minutes and didn't acknowledge my boyfriend after he ran out of cider. She then heated up food and sat 5 feet away with her BACK to us without any further acknowledgement. At least not until we bought plenty of stuff to go. Suddenly she was interested. Pretty disappointing. Especially after the other guy left and we were only two people in the entire place.

Cider selection is great. Go for the 6 sampler or try all 12! Outside food is welcome. Sizzle Pie and Pine State Biscuits are right next door.

I really enjoyed this place, hard ciders on tap! I was actually at Ex Novo and we saw Rev Nat sour cherry hard cider and decided we had try it because it's such a unusual flavor, it was good. "The most unusual ciders that no one else will make!" Our bar tender there said the brewery was actually near by, so we went. I recommend getting the flight! I got the flight of 6. My favorite was the pineapple and Thai fighter! I would definitely come back! I'm missing it already!

The taproom is carved out of their production facility, and has an industrial but warm and friendly feel. Attentive and friendly staff pouring some of the tastiest and most interesting ciders available in PDX. A handful of classic cider styles, along with an ever-changing selection of seasonal offerings full of character make this place worthy of regular visits.

I went to a lot of cideries and breweries in Portland and this is one of the best! We tried literally everything and they had a great range - everything from smooth light cider to funky to interesting flavor combinations. If I was in town, I would most certainly come back.

Kiwi and Shannon are amazing, bingo is super fun. the cider selection is excellent! try revival of the fittest, and shoot the glass! Will be back for more! Can't wait for passion fruit cider!

$27 dollars for a flight of 12 tasters is pretty pricey in my opinion. And, to be honest, we liked maybe 3 of the 12. The Hallelujah Hopricot, Revival Hard Apple and CCU Winter were our favorites. A majority of the ciders had a really funky flavor so if you are into that, you might really like it. For me, this is one of those places that I go once, but won't go back.

I'm a beer snob, but I like cider. In fact, I love Reverend Nat's Cider, and wanted to check out their taproom. I was pretty disappointed... They're running sample sized pours for $2/3 and 8oz pours for like $5/6. Cool if you're just there to taste, but a few drinks adds up really fast. On top of that, the place is pretty tiny and super warm on a hot day. Great cider, but not necessary to pick it up at the source. (Also, the Tepache is awesome)

I like Reverend Nat's ciders. I like them more than a lot of other ciders. I like their tasting room. I like the live music they've had there. I like them. All-in-all, this is a great place to hang out and drink good drink. They often host events that are fun and community-centered. In general, the people working there are friendly, although service can be slow when it's busy...but isn't that true anywhere? This is a great place to take your people when they're here from out of town and want to experience Portland. This is Portland.

I'm a huge cider fan, and there's plenty of that at this taproom. For first-timers, I'd recommend a "flight" of ciders (six of them for $8; flight of 12 for $16) to get a more complete tasting experience. Their flagship cider is Hallejujah Hopricot, made with apricot juice. There's even a watermelon cider that was made available this past summer. The panda already knew what he was getting, though. Tepache is a Mexican pineapple drink. Reverend Nat's makes their own and bottles it. So what do I get? Spicy Hot Tepache -- because it's made with ghost peppers. A few sips and I was sold. Great refreshing flavor, with a slight kick. You should be able to find bottles of Reverend Nat's cider up and down the West Coast.

I've Been Converted! While I'm preaching to the choir for cider lovers, I hope this review get the attention of beer and wine afficcc....ok I can't spell that so we'll just call them beer and wine lovers. I love all of our complex IPA's and being a traveler I've really enjoyed learning about and especially drinking good wine. Outside of Great Britain, hard ciders are practically unheard of apart from Normandy in France. Portland it seems.......has discovered the art of cider making and I've tasted many, but the Good Reverend has made a believer out of me. Which one was it? Fruit of the Neighbors...an amazingly complex flavor of apple, pear, and a bit of hops for good measure. I was very impressed with this place and its offerings. Our monthly group like sot try out new places, and coming in on a Wednesday evening we were all pretty happy with our choice here. Great service from the lone believer at the altar who walked us through each taster and happily explained the whole process to us. Really took great care of his customers and our group. Much appreciated. Being a taproom they don't serve food, but there's a pizza shop connected inside which is super convenient and you're welcome to bring a slice back to the tap room. There's a special atmosphere being here too. Something very sexy about oak casks as tables with large barrels and equipment behind the bar that puts you in the mood for revival. Blessed are the believers, and Reverend Nat's has made one out of me. 5 stars without a second thought. Super clean, great service, and an exquisite list of fine ciders to walk your way up 'dem golden stairs'. Get here and get saved quickly.........you'll be back and bringing friends. Praise be!!!!!!!

It's a neat little place on the front side of the warehouse where they make their cider. They have one booth, a sofa and a skinny long table good for 6-8 people. Just wish there's a little more light in there, but makes it a cozy place. With limited hours (open only 4 days a week), it's a cool place to try their cider. All of their cider is $5, or you can also try a flight for a little bit more. I would just ask for a taste or two before deciding a full glass. Their Tepache (from pineapple juice) was quite refreshing and drinkable :D They mix it with a little Mexican beer to cut the sweetness and it's my favorite one (not to mention I haven't seen it elsewhere). Next time I'l come with my growler and get a fill of that :)

If you like cider, you need to come here and try a flight of all twelve of their offerings! (Bring a buddie to help you). No food, so definitely bring something to nosh with you if you're not into Sizzle Pie or Pine St Biscuits.

On our way through town, this cool looking establishment caught my eye and so we popped in for a cold one. I assumed they would have cider and beer, not the case--cider only! This did not keep us from having an excellent experience. The bartender was incredibly nice and helped us navigate the cider experience with success, and also gave us some great dinner recommendations. It is also the kind of place that is really plugged into their community and has some fun events. Can't wait to return, try some different ciders, and meet some nice new people!

This is a very chill and casual place to try cider that are home brewed. I would love to see a larger selection but def get the flight. That is a great way to try a few of the different flavors. The bartender was so nice and I would def like to see this place grow more but if you are looking for something intimate this is the place.

This place is adorable. Very limited seating and tables are not conducive of a "work/study area" BUT the ciders and wood-everything makes up for this. They have a lot of options on tap and they rotate out seasonal ciders. Also, some part beer/part ciders are available for the brave. There is no food and most pours are 12 oz, but prices are average with $6-7 a glass. The greatest part of this cidery is the fact that you can get 4/16 oz cans of the ciderworks for $10. WHAT A STEAL. The cider in general ranges from sweet to dry to tart. This is definitely a place to visit if you're not (YET!) into dry cider since the cider tends to favor the tart and dry finish. I would recommend a flight for whoever wants to get submerged in all of their options. Pizzeria nearby and it is easy enough to find street parking.

Amazing cider, great staff, comfy taproom. Dunno what more you can ask from a place. Don't serve food but can bring it in from anywhere else to eat while you drink, HUGE plus!

I love this place! First, I like the unusual space - a few barstools, a single booth, a leather couch and an open warehouse full of tanks. Second, I like what comes out of those tanks. They usually have 12 or more ciders on tap and they offer flights of 6 or 12 ciders. You can always count on a wide variety of ciders that are very distinctive. Third, I like the bartenders who are friendly and chatty and know alot about cider. Finally, a secret pasageway to Sizzle Pie in the same building. Nothing like a good cider to wash down a slice.

Went in here had the 12 tasters. Only liked 4. Some smelled funky. Service was pretentious bordering rude and we were one out of two tables. They were not busy. And no presentation or conversation explaining. Hmmm. Disappointing since this was our annual Christmas cider group night.

Fresh from Cider Summit SF the week prior, we had cider on the brain so we followed our hearts to the taproom on a beautiful 70° Saturday. I'm new to the cider game but the bf is quite the connoisseur, so the kind gentleman running the counter suggested we get a flight of all 12 ciders--I didn't catch his name but he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He described each cider to us in detail, along with some info about the brewing process, gave us some additional tastes of things not on the flight, AND shared the piping hot biscuits the dude from Pine State dropped off. My favorites by far were the tepache and the bootylicious. Unfortunately the latter is a super small batch tent room cider, so it's release is limited and may not come again. EVER. They both have a strong pineapple flavor, and the bootylicious also has banana and coconut. Apparently the tent room membership allows you early access to limited release ciders--almost reason enough to return to Portland regularly. In addition to the flight, we got two bottles of each of the bootylicious and the tepache to take home (I checked luggage just to do this--that's how good it is) and got a pint of the Hopland in Space, which tastes just like an IPA, to enjoy there. I am sad to report that only two bottles made it home because we poured the other two down our gullets the next day. A stop by the tasting room is definitely on the itinerary next time I'm in Portland!

Nice cider, not overly sweet like what you buy at the grocery store. They have some great flavour combinations. I really liked the viva la pineapple. But try them all with some of their cider flights.
