On the Grid : Revolutionario

"If you’ve never tried North African tacos, there’s a good reason. Revolutionario is the first and only North African Taco restaurant in the world—and it’s right in the neighborhood! Chef Zadi, a classically trained Algerian-American chef blends North African flavors with Mexican influence. The taste is as unique as the concept itself. They also offer private cooking classes for small groups." - Ben Loiz Studio

Farid Zadi Once Again Asks for Help to Keep Revolutionario Alive - Eater LA

"North African chef Farid Zadi is once again reaching out to his friends, family, and loyal fans for support, asking for help in covering a new slate of costs that have come from his ongoing legal disputes. The central issue at his restaurant Revolutionario is the building itself, which has been sold (or threatened to be sold) multiple times since Zadi first moved in. In a newly posted GoFundMe page, Zadi says a deal for Revolutionario’s building is done, and that means there’s a need to cover some of the costs that Zadi has incurred over the past two years. He cites legal services, “repairs and maintenance,” and “loss of income” as a few of the ways his taco shop has been negatively affected, and is asking for some $10,000 from the general dining public. The initial call for support came on April 18, when Zadi said he had only two weeks to recoup his losses or the restaurant would close. After raising nearly $2,000 he’s backed off that claim some, noting in an update that some in-person donations have come in to match the online money as well. “We’re less stressed now,” he adds, “We see a positive finish line in sight.” It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Zadi has asked for public money via a GoFundMe page. Back in December of 2016 Revolutionario sought some $250,000 to attempt to buy their building themselves, but came away with only several hundred dollars." - Farley Elliott

One of Rome’s Most Popular Gelato Shops Opens in Studio City - Eater LA

"Revolutionario is doing a weekend special of Iraqi-style halal chicken and rice. Look for a basmati-stuffed bird and sides for between $7 and $14." - Farley Elliott

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is fresh and the owner is so friendly. It's easy to pass by, because the restaurant is small. Look for the amazing mural outside. And be sure to read the writing on the wall. I rode up from San Diego just to have lunch here.

Blown away by the awesome flavors. It takes a L.A staple and makes you feel like you have eaten tacos for the first time in your life. The anticipation in each bite is present all around. The scene and staff here are great and welcoming. I ordered the Black-eyed pea falafel, Duck Hash, Smoked Lamb, Cilantro Yogurt Chicken and Merguez-crispy potatoe tacos I also ordered a Beef Brisket and Barbacoa Burrito. The tacos were right on point the unique garnishes though mainly pickled beets, onion, cabbage and carrots complimented well with the spicy Habanero sauce. The duck hash did not disappoint the fatty duck melted all around and coated the potatoes. Smoked Lamb was good and the Merguez sausage. The burrito will kick your behind they give you such a generous amount of food. So much to write about this spot bring a group of friends and get lost in a new experience.

Fared is an Algerian/French super nice owner who is running the restaurant. The place is very modest compared to the very delicious food they serve. I really enjoyed the food so much, talking to Fared and the feeling of looking at the wall of the restaurant where people who ate at the restaurant express their love to the food and the place by writing personal comments and sticking a $ bill on the wall.. revolution vibe Parking is available for free and is adjacent to the restaurant facing the restaurant wall.

Everything was absolutely delicious. I would recommend the lamb tacos and fried cauliflower. Also make sure to get all their sauces and fixings. They also have a special/seasonal menu in addition to their staples

Amazing tacos. Authentic flavors. You travel the world with every bite inside a hole in the wall joint that's just well lit enough to feel romantic. The view outside is an urban appeal you will not find anywhere but LA. Portion size is perfect , sides are just right with pickled onions , radish and carrots. The spicy harissa adds the right amount of kick. The lamb and brisket were my favorite , the falafel was super tasty but needed some kind of sauce, and the duck tasted exactly like the flavors of north africa and the middle east. Loved everything about this place, except the street parking. :)

Google
Amazing tacos!! The duck hash is incredible and the duck is really tender. The cilantro chicken and black eyed pea falafel are also fantastic! Awesome find!
