On the Grid : Revolver

"Hidden in a quiet part of Lower Haight you’ll find this urban clothing boutique and gallery. The shop features a well-curated collection of women’s and men’s clothing, locally-made jewelry, and other authentic goods. The already charming interior only gets cuter as you head towards the back, where you’ll find sale items and an art gallery. If you can’t get enough of Revolver, check out their sister shop, Voyager, in the Mission." - Amy Young

A Coffee-Obsessive’s Guide to Drinking the Best Coffee in Vancouver | Bon Appétit

"A compact, high-energy café known for its intimate two-person booths, indie-pop soundtrack and a quieter adjacent room filled with books and brewing gear for a more contemplative vibe. The shop emphasizes a rotating selection of coffees from notable roasters, sells a well-stocked range of beans and home brewing equipment, and offers reliably excellent baked goods sourced from a respected local bakery." - ByChris Morocco

Excellent coffee with wonderful pastries. The coffee is smooth, creamy and fragrant. The pastries were fresh, flaky, and buttery. Nice ambiance and kind and friendly staff.

Finally tried Revolver after all these time. Place was pretty busy even during odd hours, which I think speaks about their reputation. I think if you don’t want the crowd, place can be good to just chill or do some study/work. Service was fast and prompt for my cappuccino but I think I am just not a fan of their espresso blend. I could see they have very interesting option for pour over though so will be back to try those.

Terrific! Great pour over coffee and a nice selection of beans roasted across the world. Good choice of specialty coffee beans, they had 3 (!) different gesha options when I came! Also a great space to enjoy a coffee inside and the staff is really helpful, nice and knowledgeable.

The latte lacked depth of flavor but at least it had the historic industrial vibe to it. On the other hand, the pizza pastry was decent but I wished it was heated up.

Espresso flight two plain two with milk is rare opportunity. Espresso pulls were low volume (think ristretto) and I wish more like most double shots. Banana bread was moist and Kouign-Amann pastry (photo) was excellent, fresh light and not too sweet. Plenty of seating on other side or wall via doorway back of coffee shop.

Probably the best cafe in the city, known for their incredibly talented baristas and coffee beverages. Their baked goods are nice, too. If you want quality coffee, give this a try. It’s also a nice place to work from if you can (unfortunately I can’t).

We were keen to find a good coffee in our travels in Vancouver and very glad to have found this place. Great coffee, nice service and good vibe.

Revolver cafe is definitely worth the trip! You absolutely HAVE to get the lemon loaf, it has these crystallized bits of lemon baked throughout that are divine. We also got the s’mores cookie which was very good but not as much of a stand out as the lemon loaf. Would also recommend the coffee flight, it included two types of Colombian coffee espresso shots with and without milk. Price point was affordable for what you get, we split it amongst two of us and it was perfect. The coffee was incredibly fruity, and worth trying especially if you like more vibrant fruit notes in your coffee (my preference is caramel notes in my espresso, but my partner loved the fruit notes, so totally up to your palette). The atmosphere was nice and aesthetically pleasing. One side has tiny more private booths which were all full, but I imagine they’re super cozy if you can snag one. The other side of the cafe is more of a long communal table that seemed to have lots of open seats but was a bit noisier (just keep in mind if you’re thinking of working/studying from the cafe, may want noise cancelling headphones). Oh and the music was absolutely perfect, a perfect chill playlist, not too loud or quiet. Overall, the give this place a try, you won’t regret it!
