just tried almond ricotta and absolutely loved it! The place has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the food was both fresh and full of flavor. The service was fast, and the staff were genuinely friendly.Definitely planning to come back — highly recommended!

I've been coming in the day on weekends to work and have been absolutely delighted by Rex 🥰 tonight was the first night I stopped by for evening dinner service and I was even more delighted! incredible happy hour deal (a mimosa after work for $7? YES PLEASE) and fresh and filling pasta with vodka sauce that made my work day so much better :) thank you to the staff!!! I will definitely be back - what a great addition to the LES.

Had lunch here and it was amazing! The fried chicken sandwich was perfect—crispy and flavorful. Loved the gluten-free banana bread, and the sangria was so good. Plus, they have all-day happy hour. Definitely coming back!

the café is really an insider tip. the atmosphere is relaxing and the stuff is really kind and friendly. they offer a large vegetarian section on their menu as well. all the food and drinks we got were really delicious. would definitely visit again, when in new york!! :)

So far the best place in Lower Manhattan!! They’re pet friendly😁 My dog had an amazing time and the staff was so amazing with her! I’ve been there many times since they opened and loveeee the avocado toast!its the perfect place for coffee , relax and why not, work. Get your lap top and enjoy the amazing coffee they have! My everyday to go place!

Had the most bizarre interaction with the barista at 7 am on Thursday. I ordered the avocado toast, I’m vegan. It came with feta cheese on top which I hadn’t expected and there’s no indication on the menu. I told him that they should put that on the menu as avocado toast is usually a vegan option. He immediately gets an attitude and responds “there’s usually cheese on avocado toast.” No there is not. Is up down? I was being cordial and didn’t even ask for a remake, and he gave me the pettiest “have a good day!” with an eye roll. You don’t treat customers like this.

Used to go to the Hell's Kitchen location weekly when I used to work in the area and I missed Rex when I moved jobs. Once I heard they opened a new location near me I was super excited. Didn't disappoint, and this new space is larger and cozier. The coffee is always on point and consistent. You can tell the sandwiches are always prepared with love. My personal favorite is the BLT. All of the baked goods are solid and usually fresh. This is also a fantastic 3rd space where they allow you to come with a laptop. I went today with a large group (had family in town) and after we drank and ate, we stayed for three hours to talk and not once did we feel like we were over staying our welcome by any of the employees, which was very appreciated. I think Rex was a great addition to the LES community and glad they are here! I also really love that they have the iconic Vivian Maier portrait on the wall and a lot of street/documentary type of photos as decor. Also a really clean bathroom.

Great to see couple of young industry guys taking a chance to make their dreams come through... All fantastic... Coffee, home made cookies, banana bread, gluten free uptions are all wonderful...

The perfect cafe in terms of drinks, staff, and space. What surprised me was how good the food was too. I loved the lamb sandwich and the bagels (which are from Utopia Bagel).

Royally screwed up my egg sandwich. We had two sandwiches in our order. We requested hot sauce for the BLT and mayo for the egg sandwich, as well as extra cheese. They slathered hot sauce all over my egg sandwich. No mayo, no cheese. It was inedible. I have yet to receive my money back. Avoid unless you are looking for a pastry / an item that doesn't require any level of brain power.
