RG Burgers and Grill

It is a no frill and quality food place. Such places a becoming hard to locate especially around north TX. The service was good. The seating is comfortable. They have a good layout catering to patron size. The quantity to cost ratio is correct. The quality is also very good. The burger bun is unique. Fries are tasty. I would be very surprised if you don’t visit again and try all their menu. It is a staple burger joint. We will visit again.

Cute place! Very home-y and I enjoyed the decor and the fact that this placelikes to preserve it's history. My burger was also great! Our food was also ready quickly and the servers were great. I definitely recommend for a good burger!

I ordered the Brunch Burger ( bacon, egg, and cheese) with fries for $15.99 MY Mother ordered a small burger with onion rings. Two teas ( mine sweet). We were craving good burgers and haven't been there in a long time. 😋 BEST BURGERS! and excellent service!

This was a pleasant surprise. While traveling through town, we wanted a burger, and we wanted a place that we were not used to, so we found this on Google. When we drove up, the outside made the place appear like a tiny spot, but when we went inside, the place had a ton of room, as well as unique wall hangers to go around reading. Also, the most important thing - the burgers we ordered were fantastic. We went at an off hour, so I was not expecting great, but I was pleasantly surprised as everything turned out amazing. The fried pickles were also great. Happy we stopped by and will definitely try to stop again whenever we are near.

What an outstanding burger spot! The burgers are packed with flavor, hitting that 'perfect' mark. Pair that with their delicious sweet potato fries, and you've got a fantastic meal. For about $30 for two, the price feels just right for the quality. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to try the Kingo Kong burger challenge!

Today, I tried RG Burgers and Grill for lunch. The garbage plate caught my attention. Gilbert, my server explained the plate to me. My hamburger steak was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the fries were fresh and not greasy. The chili was the best I've had in Denton and was so flavorful. The surprise was the macaroni salad, which was al dente, not mushy and had the perfect amount of condiments mixed in. I had a perfect dining experience with excellent food and service!

Awesome burgers. Little hole in the wall spot with amazing food and cool challenge. "Conquer the Kong" a 2lb burger and 1lb of steak fries. If you get it all down in 30 mins you get a cool shirt and your photo on the wall. I was totally surprised to see 2 of my pics still up from almost 15 years ago when i conquered the kong. Stop by for a food challenge or just some really great burgers.

We came here for an early dinner after work. We both ordered the mushroom swiss burgers. The flavor was good but they did not have nearly enough swiss cheese. If you order a salad instead of fries, make sure to ask for it to come out before the meal or they'll bring it at the same time as the burger. The place is decorated with Americana memorabilia, and there are tables and booths to choose from. They did have some larger tables at the front, for larger parties as well. We will definitely be back to try some of the other burgers on the menu.

We really enjoyed the food here!! Very good service , easily one of the best cheeseburgers I have had...HUUUUGE!! We could have split it and been just fine! Going home with dinner for later and a full tummy...

Best burgers ever. Glad we tried it out!!' We tried the all star burger and Mamma Mia burger. The all star burger wasn't as spicy as we expected but so much flavor in both burgers. Burgers and sandwiches come with unlimited steak fries. Also beers here are like $3-4 so why wouldn't you come try.

Great place for lunch. I got the brunch burger and my friend ordered the Cincinatti hot dog. Delicious.

There was plenty of seating. We were seated immediately and drinks were ordered. The space was clean. The time between ordering and serving our order was great. The food was tasty and very generous portions. Ethan did a great job serving us! They do not have a baby changing table in the restroom is the only negative.

Excellent food, good service, home style diner Food is affordable and in big portions you're definitely getting your moneys worth, and it's tasty, I like the chili here.

Started out great, we told the server it was our first time here when we ordered and another customer leaned over and said "this is the best hamburger in Denton". He went on to say "I judge a burger by how many napkins I use", I looked on the table and saw a roll of paper towels. A little dark in the dining room. Fast service, professional and polite. While waiting for the food, we overheard several tables telling each other how great the burgers were and explaining why. Can't wait for this burger. Here's the lowdown: great patty, looks and feels like a full pound. Tasty, and firm, juicy without bleeding all over the bread. The bun is toasted, but thicker than it needs to be with the size of the patty. Veg was okay but the tomato was sliced way too thick. Shredded lettuce and a very good, thin slice dill pickle. Served the way you want with very average steak fries. It amazes me why those that serve steak fries don't add some seasoning before serving them. Final thoughts are this is a very good size burger, tastes good but not great. Service is outstanding. The place needs to look at their lighting, otherwise it was old but clean.

Now that's a burger! First time at RGs, it's in a strip mall with easy parking, there are two spots up front for quick parking/ Togo orders. We dined in, the space is nice and Texas/Americana decor with combo of booths or tables. We were sat promptly, received our drinks quickly and overall service was excellent. The servers help each other by refilling beverages regardless of who's table it is, really nice touch that adds to the dining experience. I asked for the popular dishes and learned they have a burger of the month special burger. This month (March) is well seasoned beef Patty with spicy mustard, perfectly crisp bacon, pickles and Swiss cheese topped with two onion rings. The bread is soft and not sweet like other burger spots, which I appreciate as it doesn't take flavor away from the burger itself. As you can see in my photos this burger is big! I had to smoosh it down to get a full bite and I haven't had to smoosh a burger in a long time. Absolutely delish- excellent all around for food and service this is a MUST stop so come hungry. As a bonus, they give 10% off to military and first responders. Very nice.

Really yummy burgers. The service was a bit slow, it it was a Friday night. Seating arrangements and availability are disjointed and makes it difficult for groups of 5 or more.

I had the RG Spicy Allstar burger and it was delicious. The seasoning was perfect and the spice was just right. I ordered onion rings for an appetizer and they were crispy and sweet. The order was enough for 4 of us to share. The service was a little slow but the food is great.

Highly recommend. Burger was great...do yourself a favor and add the grilled jalepenos! Gilbert was an excellent waiter - very courtious and helpful without being over the top. I will definitely be back.

Best Burgers in Denton. I love how friendly they are. I can always count on them to satisfy our needs. We we're there this past weekend and the owner was there. Very friendly guy. If you haven't tried their new Chipotle dipping sauce, you might want to try it. It was delicious.

RG Burgers has attentive service and the restaurant is clean and has a relaxing ambiance. It's a great place for a casual outing with a sports-bar vibe. My only con about RG Burgers and Grill are the burgers. They give you a significantly large portion of patty, which feels like it's way too much for the burger proportions (buns-to-meat ratio). I personally do not prefer a large patty - but give it a try yourself to see how you feel about it.

You have e to try this place! Food is amazingly great. One of the best hamburgers I ever had, a regular but BIG cheeseburger! Fries delicious and crispy. Service is great and friendly. Ambience is typical for burger place. Planning to go back, have to try their onion rings and another type of burger.

The fries were very bland and we are not a big fan of sweet buns with burgers. The chicken strips were also very thick and tasteless. The service was good, nothing exceptional. Cute place, it's very big!

It held; the bun actually held! I wanted to order the Cheesy Cheese without any customizations. When my waiter asked if I wanted "X", I said yes. So I got lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, mustard, etc. I am not fond of hamburgers bigger than a mouthful. Although it was not too difficult nor too messy eating it, several sheets of paper towel was needed. When I was halfway finished, I worried about the bottom bun due to the liquid. The edges were soggy and I was afraid it would eventually fall apart. By the time I finished, the bottom bun was still intact. It is amusing the refills on the French fries are free. While eating the cheeseburger, I only had one fry. I did not want to spoil my appetite. I could not have another bite once I finished the cheeseburger. My waiter mentioned he sometimes he orders the burgers kid size. While the regular size is 1/2 lb patty, the kid size is 1/4 lb.

So grateful my girlfriend showed me this spot. Definitely a hidden gem . I would definitely say top 3 burger places ever. Food: 10/10 These burger are freaking huge. I got the RG burger but I ignorantly added an extra patty thinking they'd be small , so I was in for a shocker when it came out. She got the pan go villa was had a lot of flavor along with skinny fries. I got sweet p fries per usual . They also have a king king burger, if you finish that, you get a pic on the wall. So im definitely coming back for that. Service: 10/10 Very fast and deliberate with service. 10-12 minutes to get to the table. Our server was pretty attentive for refill on drinks which is so underrated. Atmosphere: 9.2/10 I mean it's not a hole in the wall but it's definitely been there for some time. It is still a clean and well put together place. Needless to say tho , I love places like this more better than fancy upscale establishments due to the food always hitting better. Also it's in Denton so not your around the corner deal. Highly recommend for burger lovers. They also sell glizzys. Can't wait for the next time. Pics coming soon Overall: 9.7/10

I learned about R G Burgers & Grill because they were participating in Burger Week for Denton and I am now a big fan because they make a really great burger. The patty itself is nearly an inch thick and we are not talking just any old burger, this is some awesome meat. I would love to know what kind of meat they are using. It is expertly seasoned and there are many wonderful options on how they finish it. They even have a burger of the month that changes and brings new flavors to the table. The featured burger for burger week was the "Big Daddy". It was definitely big, those first few bites were a real challenge to get your mouth around. This burger is served on a brioche bun that was fresh and soft. It then had spicy mustard, pickles, the gigantic burger patty, swiss cheese, bacon, and then two big onion rings. This thing was so big I took half of it home and I am eating it for lunch while I write this review. If you like your bacon crispy on your burger be sure to ask for it that way. The bacon was limp, much more so than I care for. Otherwise, this burger was perfect. In addition to our burger, we also tried the Mexican fries which were steak fries topped with cheese, diced onions, tomatoes, and jalapenos. They had a nice kick to them and the fries held up well under all the toppings. Our waitress was very nice, and efficient. She had a lot of tables and was really moving. There were some really large groups there when we were visiting and yet the wait was not very long at all. I will be coming back to try some more of their burger creations.

Low key and chill kind of burger joint. Food is pretty good. Lightly toasted buns are my favourite part of the burger. Each one is more than a mouthful and I've never successfully finished my plate. Fries are absolutely stellar.

Love the prices and love their burgers, there are not too many places in Denton that can match their flavors on the different specialty burgers and other foods they make.

I've been eating here for years and the food and service is always on point. My burger is always perfectly cooked and never dry. I just love, love, love, the steak fries. Very inviting place to eat.

Ample parking in the shopping center lot. Dated interior but classic burger joint decor and very clean. Here are huge. Make no mistake about it. Is that a pound of meat? With abundant toppings too! I could not get mine in my mouth and was shamefully forced to gnaw at it from various angles. Cooked pretty well done. Not pink inside as the menu suggests. Order accordingly. Patty could have been better seasoned but I enjoyed almost the whole thing. Just couldn't finish it! We've tried the shoestring fries but I'd stick with their regular steak fries which were done just right. Good service and syrupy coke. I'll be back again and again when the craving for a burger and fries strikes! Recommended.

I stopped by for lunch while in town in business. Please with the cleanliness, service and the food. Messy burger, just like it should be.

Burgers here are the best in town, which is crazy because they are also among the most affordable "restaurant burgers" (as opposed to fast food). If you've never tried them, you're honestly missing out!

SUMMARY: Pretty good burgers with a big minor con for us. Great atmosphere with awesome service too. BACKGROUND: I asked my coworkers what was the best burger in Denton and a few mentioned this place so off we went a few days later. FOOD As my coworkers said, their burgers are pretty good. They have a great selection of ingredients and different types of burgers and other options. True to the claims, you can get a mammoth burger but we opted to get smaller ones since we don't eat huge dinners. I opted to get my fave side, onion rings. The onion rings seemed to be made vs out of a frozen bag and I'd give them 5/5. As for the burgers while I enjoyed it, I've had better meat quality and I wasn't fond at all of the mayo, which tasted more like ranch dressing than mayo. I ended up scraping it all off. 4/5 in the burger. SERVICE and ATMOSPHERE Really nice home style decor and comfortable feeling. Service was spot on, our waiter was a nice young man who was both polite and professional. RETURN VISIT? Yes, this easily can be a 5 star for us but we'll have to tweak our orders to made it so.

Rated this burger joint a three mostly based price. Wife got the standard burger - no cheese. I opted for a chili cheeseburger. Wife said burger was good - just nothing spectacular. The chili cheeseburger was eh. The chili didn't even ooze out from under the bun - just sat there like a lump from a scoop. Fries are cooked nicely and are fine, but they are not hand cut. The waitress was very nice. $42+ total for two people for standard burgers, frozen fries, and two Cokes. Not worth the price when there are so many other excellent burger joints within thirty minutes. Fir that price, I could take myself out to lunch at Fogo.

The burger was tough. Neither one of us could finish it. I simply wanted an old fashioned burger. Juicy and tender. This is not it. I have no idea why they have such a high rating. Do your self a favor and try another place.

Warning after you eat at this place you will need a nap! The food is worth it. The best burger I'd had in a white outside of my own kitchen! They offer unlimited fries and a King Kong challenge! Only ONE person has successfully completed the challenge. I will definitely be back!!!!

Updating rating to full 5 Stars. I've been to RG a few times recently and gosh they nailed it perfectly each time. Consistency shows real skill rather than getting lucky occasionally. Service is fantastic each time and the whole experience is comfortable and satisfying. My favorite burger place in DFW.

I don't know what has happened but the burgers aren't the same quality, as in the past. The meat had all the juice smashed out it it, over cooked for medium and the bun came out soggy. The on cheesy cheese burger the cheddar cheese was not melted and instead of 4 cheeses I only counted 3. Over the years this has been my go to place for a thick, juicy burger, I'm hoping they get back to basics.

Had the Paris burger which had blue cheese and onions. Pretty good burger, could use a little more seasoning but did that myself. They actually had S&P on the table! Getting there at opening caused a delay in service but just got hungerer. Got my burger fix for a while.

Man, I was expecting so much more from this place based on reviews. First they completely got my order wrong. I didn't complain I just ate it. French fries were extremely undercooked. Felt like I was eating rubber. The kid that served us did not seem like he wanted to be there. Very disappointed. Best thing was the burger bun.

Great burger!! You can tell it's homemade and so big. Lots of food and definitely one of the better ones around. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good lunch.

Seriously delicious. This is literally the first takeaway that has the same or improved quality since the pandemic in 2020. We ordered the spicy RG burgers. The meat was sooo flavorful. The buns are sweet with substance. Onions, jalapeños, bacon, sauce were perfection. Our sides were thick fries and sweet potato fries. Both were excellent and generous in portion. I 100% recommend this restaurant and will probably order them today to see if it's consistent. I'll update my review.

Best Burger I've had in NTX. Laid back, enjoyable atmosphere with Bomb Food. Endless Fries, my preference is the skinny. My wife and I can't get away from the Mama MIA burger. and the staff is always spot on. Can't wait to do the Challenge.

Have always enjoyed RG & one other burger joint here. The deciding factor being which side of town I was on. Different burgers, both good. Until today. Today someone that identified themselves as being part of the family that owns RG decided to go to a social media post about growing up here in the 80s to trash the other fav place across town. Like a child. Not an adult, professional or anyone even slightly business minded. Keep in mind the other burger joint has been here 40 years and always WITHOUT FAIL supports other small businesses. He basically advertises for other food establishments! Stand up guy with a long time family history here. I'll be contacting the owners to see their view on this and from there my review will change if need be. I'll also be posting this review on every single platform available as well as telling my family / friends / coworkers of the unprofessional behavior by said family of the owners. Do we not have enough hate in this world? I believe we do. We own a business - not in the food industry. If our child or other family member behaved in the fashion of this individual they would be immediately disassociated with the business. We don't need to slam someone else to shine light on our business. And we all know crap posted on the internet is a perfect way to bite ya in the rear end. Yet he decided it was worth the risk.

The food was terrible and so was the service! They had 10 servers all standing around the register just chatting about their weekend. The food came out cold! We ordered cheese fries and they had no cheese. This place should close down! Will not be back. We were offered 10% off for the bad food. Really???? It was 100% bad! SMH!

Well yaknow its one of them places that use to be good now the meat taste like a giant peice of rubber substance that they make kick balls out and the 20 price leaves you walkin out bowlegged no longer will i be going find another place sidewalk cafe beats em by a mile on there bugers Sad
