Breakfast was another disappointment. It was not self-service; we had to order from the staff. We ordered coffee and were served a pot of coffee that was cold and tasteless. There was butter on the table but no bread. We waited around 30 minutes for breakfast, which was very poor and not what we wanted.
The waitress asked what I would like, and I said I wasn’t sure and asked for a recommendation. She asked if I liked sausage and bacon. I said no, not for breakfast. She said she would bring a vegetable-based breakfast, but after waiting another 30 minutes, I was served a vegetarian sausage that tasted terrible, a small portion of canned beans, a fried egg, and potatoes. The egg was tasteless, and I don’t understand why this was called a “vegetable choice.” I am not vegetarian—I simply don’t like sausage for breakfast.
I was shocked that this kind of breakfast is served in a hotel charging such high prices. This stay was not worth £270 per night, not even £100.
The only positive aspects were the beautiful building, the decoration, and the location.
