"Enter this lighthearted, hipster establishment when searching for a craft beer, bottle of wine, sandwich, or salad (there are plenty of snack-ish items like potato chips and kale chips to pair with either). The second location of its kind, Rhino Uptown is also known for its locally sourced goods (like kombuchas and coffees) and baked items (reach for a cookie). Stop by for weekly entertainment like music trivia and DJs." - Katie Toussaint

Google
Amazing hidden gem! Although there are many Rhino spots this one is a really relaxed not high traffic area. When looking for a specific dry cider and need pointers Clint was very helpful. Great service and good selections of beer. Really enjoyed the dry cider! Would highly recommend.

Google
A coworker recommended Rhino Market & Deli to me, and I am blown away with how delicious their Chicken Torta Sandwich is. Walking in, you order from the counter in the back then proceed to pay at the counter in the front. The staff are friendly and helpful and make small talk easy. Pros: Located in uptown near Truist Park and across the street from Mellow Mushroom. Delicious food Friendly staff My only recommendation to the business would be to lower your volume on the music by about 5-10 decibels. My watch read a constant 72+ db and peaked around 78.

Google
Great place to hangout anytime and especially before an event at BOA Stadium! Great food, tunes and selection of microbrews!

Google
Two thumbs the f up! A hidden gem and one of my all-time favorite restaurant-shops. Rhino’s fresh, hot food is so delicious, esp the specials (you’ve gotta try the Big Skinny on Thursdays) and breakfast fare (breakfast burrito FTW). They’ve got a broad and eclectic mix of beers and wine from all over NC, as well as the best cheese options in town. Eat, do your grocery shopping, have a pint with friends, this place has it all. You’ve gotta try it.

Google
Such a great place to grab a quick sandwich & beer/cocktail! I'm a big fan of the Rhino Club. You order at the window, browse & pay at the register. The staff was so accommodating & friendly. The only downside is there isn't a lot of seating & it can get packed, so you may really need to grab & go. Food is simple, fresh and fab!

Google
Loved this cute shop! The food is amazing and they offer vegan options which is great since there isn't much in the uptown of Charlotte.

Google
Great little gem in the heart of the city! Great sandwiches - probably the best thing we ate in Charlotte during the 3 days we were in town. Nice selection of beer and fair prices. Very welcoming and friendly vibe, super nice staff. Order at the kitchen counter, pay at central register. Easy!

Tonya G.

Google
Sandwiches, wine, coffee! Perfect store for someone staying at the hotels nearby.

Yelp
I was going to catch a 10 am flight so I wanted to have a nice breakfast before my long journey home- looked at Yelp and saw that this place opened at 7 am. On my walk over I got to take in a little bit of charlotte history too! I knew exactly what I wanted which was a breakfast burrito and it was less than $8. The deli was full of various snacks, drinks including coffee. It had tables for you to eat or you could sit at the counter. I liked that it had a shelf of stuff made in the state- that was where I picked up a hot sauce made with Carolina reapers. Oh, and the burrito was good!

Tsai-Anne J.

Yelp
Cute spot near the stadium great for a quick break or to pick up a snack. There is a deli with many affordable options. There is gluten free bread along with vegan/ vegetarian options if you have dietary restrictions. The sandwich was fine I had a stack on gluten free bun and veggies and a rice crispy which was also fine.

Christina B.

Yelp
In my top 5 for lunch spots in uptown! Love their chicken torta and French dip. They have daily features so I would also recommend checking out their website. This place gets really busy during lunch so keep that in mind when you looking for a quick lunch. Fun selection of snacks, alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches and breakfast burrito. Went here every day on a work trip. Will be back when in the area. Definitely a favorite

Yelp
My experience at Rhino Market & Deli left me truly satisfied. This local downtown gem boasts an impressive selection of market and convenience items that cater to various tastes. The highlight, undoubtedly, was their deli kitchen. I had the pleasure of indulging in their massive breakfast burrito, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion. Packed with eggs, meat, cheese, and an array of mouthwatering ingredients, it was a breakfast dream come true. What's even better is its proximity to the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel - a stone's throw away. The fact that we could walk over from the hotel made it even more convenient. And I have to say, it was one of the best breakfast experiences I've had in quite some time. Rhino Market & Deli truly lives up to its reputation. The fusion of eclectic market offerings and the delectable deli kitchen creations creates a winning combination. If you're looking for a satisfying breakfast and a place that understands variety, flavor, and convenience, this spot is a must-visit. It made my morning memorable and set the tone for a fantastic day ahead.

Yelp
I got an egg and cheese bagel before work and it was so good I had to get another. Love this place!

Sadie G.

Yelp
Went to the location at the airport because all the pre-packages grab and go sandwiches were also $11+ so we have this place a try. Very glad we decided on this! If you're traveling through Charlotte airport, this is a worthy stop for a quick bit to eat and better than the fast food options. Meat was fresh, along with the lettuce and tomato - pleasant surprise! Aside from the high barstools (as pictured) there are also low tables with built in stools. The girl was the counter was enthusiastic and was trying to upsell cookies (not in a pushy way) but a genuine if you have a sweet tooth it's worth it type of way. Will stop again next time we're passing through!

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
Great friendly guys running the store really enjoyed meeting family members there for a bottle of wine! Thank you!

Shaun M.

Yelp
Dare I say that they should extend breakfast food hours. Their bagel sandwich is awesome!! It's great that Rhino seems to always have what you need in a pinch (food, beer, snacks). If it's lunchtime, give the chicken torta a go. I'm not sure that it's actually healthy, but it feels healthy and that's all that matters. Tastes great, is ready quick, and always overdelivers.

Robert K.

Yelp
I love this place! The breakfast burrito is outstanding. Big, lots of ingredients, and full of flavor. It should satisfy a hearty appetite. I loved the vibe of the place, very laid back, friendly, nobody is rushing you out the door. A true neighborhood hang. I came back a week later and not only had a breakfast burrito but came back later and had the Turkey sandwich with pesto. It was very good and fresh. I want to come back and try a lot of other things off the menu. I'm a fan!

Jordan B.

Yelp
Severely underrated. Great food, wines and service. Came in while visiting CLT and can't wait to go back.

Lorelei H.

Yelp
First time checking out this place and I was surprised and happy. It's a perfect pit stop for a quick lunch or snack on the go, they have a serious beer and wine selection for everyone's preferences. The chef making the sandos in the back was super nice and helpful. He helped me pick out this sandwich and adjusted it to my liking. Everything tastes fresh and made with care. The people at the register were very nice as well.

Benjamin B.

Yelp
This place is slammed every day during the week and with good reason. The food is great, fresh, and well made. The staff, while very busy, is always friendly and helpful. They have a massive selection of meals, drinks, snacks, and more. Spend time browsing, or get in and out and you won't be disappointed.

Belinda H.

Yelp
We were walking around Charlotte aimlessly trying to find a quick lunch. Stopped here to see what it was. Lunch was busy! So obviously the food had to be good. It was so good, I came back the next day too! Day 1: Wednesday: I had the French dip special. The prime rib was so tender it melted in my mouth and the bun (I think was rosemary) was amazing! Also had a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie which was amazing. My colleague got the chicken torts sandwich and he then got it a second time the next day it was so good. Day 2: Thursday: I had the egg salad with caramelized onions. Great flavor. Sourdough bread was wonderful. Has a fun little market so we grabbed flavored seltzers and root beers, chips etc. great selection. Tables to sit at inside and out. Also has a bar! Totally coming back see when I'm town again. I was to get a shirt too!!

Yelp
Rhino has been around for a while but was never really on my radar and as I'm always looking for something different to eat, I scrolled the menu a few times and the Le Monde breakfast sandwich caught my eye. It has egg, spinach, tomato, and havarti on sourdough but of course I made modifications of egg whites, added mushrooms and swiss instead of havarti. The sandwich is delish but the bread gets soggy really quick which is unfortunate. I've also tried them for lunch with the tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato on sourdough and it's ok and the portobello with sauteed onions, peppers, and swiss on ciabatta and that's definitely a winner. Solid spot for breakfast or lunch if you work or live uptown.

David B.

Yelp
Rhino stomps out the competition in downtown Charlotte when you looking for fresh subs and sandwiches at decent price. I had the Sicilian sub and my wonderful wife had the chicken salad. Wow! We were extremely delighted with our selections. We would definitely comeback here for more God Bless all my fellow foodies Always

Debby O.

Yelp
I love this place. I'm still thinking of their bbq tofu sandwich for weeks now. I ordered, grabbed some chips, paid (cashier is on other side of the deli), picked up my food and sat at the bar solo. It was busy at 3:30p on a Wednesday. I am writing this review despite having a broken hand. That's how much I really like this place.

J. Dylan J.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Rhino Market. Despite the busy lunch rush, the food was quick, delicious, and extremely affordable. The ambiance was a bit hectic but I enjoyed the higher end corner store feel. I'm looking forward to coming back.

Tessa M.

Yelp
I've been going to Rhino since they opened up a few years ago since it's downstairs from our office. They have delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The breakfast burrito is one of my faves! If you're ordering food, go to the window in the back to order your food first. Then grab some chips and a drink and pay after you order. The cashiers are at the opposite side of the window (at the bar). Once you're done paying, go back to where you ordered and there's a second window where they'll call your number to pick up your food. They also have a large beer and wine selection. Great for HH after work. There's seating indoors at some tables or at the bar and some outdoor seating if the weather is nice or you bring your fur baby. The staff is always so friendly and make you feel welcomed from the moment you come in.

Cassandra Y.

Yelp
We are always in and out of here quickly but it's a total saving grace. This is our go-to if we forgot to pick up a snack or drinks for an event since we live in uptown. They are fully stocked with local drinks and treats and they never disappoint. They have great quick bites that are always delightful a well. They are our number one recommendation for visitors looking for a quick breakfast on the run. They have a lot of local goods that we usually source from when we are looking to give gifts from local small businesses as well. One thing I think is super great is that they are very helpful for those of us that have dietary restrictions. There are tons of vegetarian, dairy free, and gluten free alternatives.

Ali D.

Yelp
This place was SO GOOD we had to come back for breakfast again. The setup is a little different, with an order window in the back of a little market. It is so cute and everyone is very friendly. Prices are great and food is phenomenal!

Khushboo S.

Yelp
We stopped by here after getting our COVID shot Loved their wine selection.. I took home a rose and cab - brands out of ordinary that I don't see in stores otherwise.

Daniel V.

Yelp
Right around the corner from my work for a quick lunch. It's a cool concept with it being part restaurant, bar, and specialty store. You go to the back place your order, pick up chips and a drink if you like, pay at the front counter, and then go back to pick up your food. I ordered the chicken torta. I wasn't impressed with the sandwich as it was a bit bland. I will give them another try in future if I'm in a pinch and need a quick breakfast or lunch.

Jerry B.

Yelp
I was in town for a concert and I decided to get breakfast from this place. The service was amazing fast and friendly. The food was also amazing. I had the burrito and the potatoes keep up the great work.

Steven B.

Yelp
Great lunch spot in uptown. The Reuben was absolutely delicious. It was a hefty sandwich for sure and priced well. Definitely would go back again.

Ezekiel Y.

Yelp
Came to Charlotte for a business trip and stumbled upon Rhino from some of the locals. Out of the two weeks I spent in Charlotte, this place was the more memorable spot. By far, the best sandwich shop I've had in my life. I came here every other day for the duration of my stay and couldn't get enough. The sandwiches are fresh, unique, and super filling. Not to mention the beverages are a solid plus if you wanted to spice up the meal. Typically, I'd point to a few items on the menu, but I genuinely believe there's not a single item on the menu to disappoint or underwhelm. 10/10. As a California native, I'd kill to have a Rhino Market in my area. Hope I can come by in the future!

J B.

Yelp
Excellent food. Can get a little crowded at lunch but it's worth the wait. Wednesdays are my favorite because of the beef tenderloin sandwhich. You won't be disappointed.

Michelle M.

Yelp
I feel like I'm cheating on Common Market when I come here but its pretty cool! I love the food and drink options and chill vibes. Lots of healthy, organic, gluten-free, diet friendly yums and bevys. There's chips, cookies, sandwiches made-to-order, wine, beer, sodas and teas. The outdoor patio is enjoyable in the sunshine and people watching the road is fun. My only complaint is that the uptown location locks their bathrooms preventing people in need from using them, unless you pay and get a key. I wonder if this location also follows this methodology? I understand the point but its a little shocking from a humanity perspective. Obviously they are doing well as a company, the least you can do is give back by allowing people to do a basic human necessity. It hurts my heart a bit businesses can be so stingy.

Christopher V.

Yelp
Rhino Market & Deli is just that. ..a market and a deli. They have a small grocery section alongside a deli that takes short orders. There are quite a few business in this downtown area, so the morning and lunch rushes are real. Service is friendly and they fulfil orders quickly. Prices are what I expect to find in a downtown market. I was in town for a couple weeks, but this was one of my go-tos for breakfast. I mostly kept is simple with oatmeal. Good oatmeal isn't easy to find, so I'm impressed. Fresh fruit and other toppings are available. Enjoy.

Heather K.

Yelp
A go-to sandwich place in southend! Sandwiches are always delicious and there are so many snacks (chips, cookies, etc) to choose from while you wait for your order to be ready. Coffee, soft drinks, beer/wine, Rhino has it all! Service is always fast and the ppl are super nice. My favorite here is Portobello, but you really can't go wrong.

Tom C.

Yelp
I love Rhino Deli so much and having this location gives me one more good reason to leave the home office and work a day in Uptown. Every sandwich I have tried has just been outstanding with good quality breads, meats, cheeses, etc. The Hot Roast Beef, Stacked High, French Dip (Wednesday Special), Hot Pastrami... All are winners. Get in line, peruse the wide variety of chips as you move, order, go to counter and pay, go back to wait for you number to be called, unwrap, dig in and enjoy! The only negative about Rhino is seeing all the beers available and knowing I need to go back and work so, rats!

Mike S.

Yelp
Part neighborhood bar, part convenience store, part deli this place has a little bit of everything. I was familiar with the original Rhino Market located west of Uptown so when I heard they were opening one down the street from my office I was very excited. Upon entering you may see a line leading towards the back. Don't be intimidated it moves quickly and it is easily worth the wait. Once you place your order you are given a ticket to take to the front along with any extra snacks or beverages you'd like as well. After you pay just wait for them to call out your number! They offer a variety of sandwiches and soups but personally I enjoy building my own sandwich. They have a lot of breads and fixings so whatever you are in the mood for you can build a sandwich that is just to your taste. In addition to being a great lunch spot they have a nice little bar you can grab a beer at with some impressive drink specials as well. I am eagerly awaiting the opening of the South End location, I look forward to making it my neighborhood hangout.

Kexin Y.

Yelp
Delicious albeit overpriced. Nothing super outstanding but def hits the spot. Redeeming quality is they serve sandwiches at all hours of the day unlike some places whose kitchen don't open until 11am blah blah. I got there at 10am and actually many people were ordering :)

Sammy L.

Yelp
After hearing the positive food reviews about Rhino, I was excited to come & try it. From the point of entry, the man at the cash register made a rude comment about no dogs. I ensured him he was a service dog and he rolled his eyes, exchanging looks with a customer as if I was lying. I picked up my dog to be polite as I can see some establishments may be more upset that the dogs walking along the floor? I then go to the back to order where I find 3 male employees staring at me, pointing and rolling eyes. I then say, do you want to say something to me? They all look back and immediately begin all speaking at once. "If that's a real service dog put it on the ground" "Doesn't look like your dog can perform a 'service' if you're holding it" "Ya a 'service dog'" And so on.. it was verbally attacking and discrimination I told the men, if they don't have seizures and clearly aren't educated on the different types of seizures dogs, I don't find it their place to tell me that mine is essentially a fake one or that I am lying. I left immediately because I should not be treated that way & I called to speak to the manager. He wasn't there so I spoke to the assistant manager. He did not apologize once and instead tried to first defend his staff and tell ME what a service dog does. With no apology exchanged, he said he would talk to his staff. I was even more upset to come on Yelp and find that this is not the first time this has happened! This is absolutely unacceptable. If this staff is going to be discriminatory they should either be fired or the establishment should be shut down.

Grayson M.

Yelp
Why are all the workers so rude here? I've worked in restaurants for over 5 years, I'm a overly nice customer. They are so rude and expect people that eat here are here everyday.

Shoni A.

Yelp
I just love Rhino's. It's an eclectic, solid spot for breakfast or lunch. They have a bunch of other things you can buy here too (unique beers/wines/sake), gifts etc. They open up at 7 AM, perfect for the person that arrives early to work and when it's not busy you're in and out. When rush hour hits, you're still not there long. The food is fresh and great. I usually get the english muffin sandwich special with eggs, havarti and brown sugar peppered bacon. Baabbyy! I could literally eat this everyday. In fact, there have been some weeks, where I was there almost every day lol. I used to get that sandwich with cheddar which is also delicious but then I discovered their havarti. I mean the cheese has all the pulls. Just a delicious buttery cheese. Anyway, you seriously cannot go wrong with this place. The have plenty of seating if you want to sit and eat but if you're on the go, this is perfect as well. They're always playing good music and all of my encounters with the staff have been great. Great food, great atmosphere and great service!

Kitty C.

Yelp
This is around the block from the Mint and Bechtler museums. It's a kind of They have great vegetarian choices for breakfast and lunch, lots of snacks, beer, wine and coffee. It's a good place to sit and chat or grab some takeout.

Ariana M.

Yelp
Amazing deli in Charlotte. This place gives you the NYC bodega feel with tons of items whilst spoiling you with a high quality deli and bar. I wish they had something similar back home. I've tried their tuna and pastrami. Both were killer and had good amount of meat and freshness.

Tom S.

Yelp
Solid spot! Went with the Reuben and would highly recommend it. Great deli with quality food and great beer selections.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
We've been to the original Rhino market location, but not this one. We were uptown looking for some dessert after dinner nearby so we stopped by here. I love the Rhino Market concept. It's a great place to hang out. Drinks, grocery snacks, sandwiches. This one is no different. We found a few good options. We ended up getting a lemon blueberry white chocolate cookie (Sweet Girl) and an ice cream sandwich. Both were great. This is definitely a good place to come hang out for a while and grab something to eat.

Rosalind G.

Yelp
I always stop here to validate my parking, this is the first time I actually ordered something. I got the bacon spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The bacon and goat cheese was on top of the bed of spinach and tomatoes, dried cranberries and pecans were tucked in the corners of the container. This was so good I almost went back for another one. The only thing that was missing for me was thinly sliced red onions on top. Really good salad and not overly expensive

Tim D.

Yelp
It really doesn't look like much (uptown location) but it's got it where it counts! A mix of local convenience store, beer and spirits, and featuring local treats, I return to Rhino for the breakfasts. Greasy, homemade breakfast sandwiches with coffee. Solid. If you are staying in a downtown hotel, skip the continental breakfast or overpriced plates and head to Rhinos.

Gina R.

Yelp
Was visiting Charlotte a couple weeks ago and stopped in to get breakfast. I had the best Vegan breakfast burrito!! So much flavor!! Coffee was great too. Love the atmosphere!

Shannon P.

Yelp
Okay for a simple tofu, veggie, and bbq sauce sandwich, the Tofu You was delicious! 10/10 will be back for this. It's simple, filling, and healthy.

Bocchino J.

Yelp
Great hot roast beef sandwich the pastrami was good as well lots of different things to choose from would recommend a beer and a lunch.

Carolyn L.

Yelp
I'm in love with this place.. Ambiance: 5/5 nice cozy with everything you need for a nice gathering.. little area for us girls to sit so we can colors and gossips. Nice music with a DJ. And he's cute so that's a great touch.. Food: 5/5 I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. Freshly made to order on a sour bread. And I also brought a huge bag of cheese popcorns.. The store is filled with all kinds of wines, bubbles, beers, beers on tap. They even have wines on tap. Coffee to order.. I meet this is perfect.. and it's not expensive. Overall, it's a grocery store with a bartender and a barista on hand. There's an area on the back that can make sandwiches to order.. and tops icing on the cake is nice music with a DJ in the back group.

Raquel S.

Yelp
This Rhino market location is small but it's packed full of great deli sandwiches, an awesome selection of snacks, beer, wine, and even gifts. There is a bar with beer and wine by the glass, and indoor/outdoor seating. It's the perfect place to grab stuff for a picnic in Romare Bearden park during live music Wednesday!

Jim G.

Yelp
Great place! Food was great and the entire staff was friendly and courteous. Price was very fair.

John H.

Yelp
So excited to see another Rhino location. I've always loved the Moorehead location and glad to see some of our Charlotte favs moving into the Uptown area as more condos and apartment buildings become available. Right off of Church Street, this location is across from Romeare Bearden Park and is a nice addition to the little strip (along with JJ's and B.Good). Just a stones throw away from Latta Arcade. The new location is not as "lived in" as the Moorehead location, but I"m sure it will be in time. There are a bunch of tables, some limited outdoor seating and a full bar located in the middle of all the action. The aisles with all the food stuffs are in the middle and the kitchen off to the right. Moor drink coolers line the back walls but it really is a cool place to sit down, have breakfast, or grab a sandwich. I would be curious to see what their lunch rush would look like since there should be a lot of uptown workers coming through. My last visit here, I did a saturday event at BB&T Ballpark and then walked up here to grab a delicious omelete. It was also pride weekend, so the store was decked out with rainbow banners across the bar seating. The staff here are super nice and it's just a relaxed place to hang out. I definitely love their french toast.... well basically all their breakfast items available on the menu. Confession: it was 9am and I had a beer, but hey, it WAS Saturday.

Kayla F.

Yelp
Was looking forward to trying this place out until I walked in with my service animal only to be interrogated by one of the workers. Even after his condescending tone, I was willing to provide documentation. Instead he decided to ask me what service the dog provides- due to his tone I said I am not required to tell you to which he replies " if you were a real service dog owner you would know I AM allowed to ask that". He is not allowed to ask that and seemed more focused on trying to prove me wrong then act like an adult. After leaving due to his condescending comments, I was able to see him snickering to the other co workers as if he was proud. I find this appalling that I was willing to provide documentation to this worker but yet he was rude and interrogating me. Not a good look, will never go here again.
