First timer...what a pleasant surprise! Small quirky restaurant- old soda fountain but the food was unbelievable. I cleaned my plate of the herb crusted salmon with coconut rice. And the chocolate buttercream cake was to die for. Definitely will be back!

You really can't call yourself a local if you haven't been to this fantastically unique, homey, eclectic restaurant that has been serving up their famous "cheese on fire" and other dishes for over 30 years. Kudos to Tom, a veteran of 10 years, who made my dining experience all the more pleasurable and I look forward to returning again with friends in the near future. Keep up the good work, team!

This was reccomended by family. We stopped in on a week day at 5:30. We were told no tables available until after 8:30. They have a diner style counter and we asked if we could sit there without a reservation...they hesitated but allowed. We ordered, waited for bread service, never received. dinner arrived but one of our fish entrees was raw so we sent back. The wait staff was busy with multiple tables even though not a full restaurant so our service was a bit slow. Once the fish was brought back it was delicious. But no one checked back or apologized for the uncooked fish. We may make our way back to give another try but next time will MAKE A RESERVATION AND BRING CASH (the preferred payment method)

Google
The place is great. Has a lot of local history. Inside is retro and a bit dark. The food is delicious, from the starters to the dessert. The service is just as good. Jamie was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed the evening.

I feel uncomfortable here.. a guy came in and started being weird with me. and I got my money scammed here for no reason? I didn’t even get no food after waiting for 30mins. So yes the food is 1 star because I didn’t have get to have a taste. If you’re gonna make a restaurant Get. Better. Workers.

Google
From the outside you would never believe how delicious the food is. This was our first time there and it won’t be our last. Everything was delicious from the carrot ginger soup to the African pineapple peanuts do Wienerschnitzel and king kip fish. The service was excellent. Bob was informative and knowledgeable, the desserts were outstanding Dennis’s chocolate buttercream layer cake melt in your mouth. The Apple Chris with homemade ice cream was fabulous free parking. Make sure you make a reservation.

Google
the food was horrible. everything tasted bad except for the mash potatoes. and the desserts taste like alcohol. a guy walked in the restaurant and made everyone uncomfortable. even my family very uncomfortable. don’t recommend

Google
Rhythm Cafe is the kind of place you’d stumble into by accident, then spend the next decade telling your friends about. It starts with the bread—warm, fresh, and served with soft butter that should be illegal. Then there’s the flatbread: smoky BBQ sauce, just the right crisp. The pear fiocchi? A decadent surprise. Filet mignon—perfectly cooked, with a horseradish sauce that will blow your mind. And the saganaki? They light it on fire at your table, like they actually want you to feel something- one of the best I’ve ever had. Chocolate chip cookies that have been rocking taste buds for 30 years round it out. The whole place feels like a time warp—cool, colorful, unapologetically itself. Local art on every wall, and service that reminds you why you go out to eat in the first place. Rhythm Cafe doesn’t just serve food. It serves soul.

Yelp
Some amazing food great atmosphere. Tenderloin Tips were pretty fantastic. Homemade ice cream was bomb

Yelp
The food and the atmosphere were absolute tops! Everyone at our table of 4 raved about the taste, quality and quantity. Not a crumb was left! Although the restaurant was near capacity - the acoustics were excellent. We were able to talk without raised voices or leaning in. The only let down (which will not stop me from returning) was my perceived aloofness of the staff. When I walked in - it was not a warm welcome reception. I chalked it up to them having a bad day - but when our waiter arrived - I had the same sense that he too must be having a bad day. We were not rushed - nor were we forgotten. But there also wasn't that sense they were happy to have us there. I will definitely go back - the quality of the meal made up for what I was missing from the welcome.

Yelp
Rhythm is probably the weirdest spot in West Palm Beach. It's clearly a locals-and-regulars kind of place, with random trinkets covering every wall and shelf--think Cookie Monster cookie jars next to Big Boy action figures. It used to be a drug store and still kind of smells and feels like one. The staff was very nice, but the vibe was just... off for me. I had the Coconut Quiche (which is a weird combo of words to say) and it was fine. Someone else in my group swore the key lime pie was awesome, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

Yelp
Great wine selection and the flaming cheese is both fun and delicious! Chef clearly loves his job!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good Appetizer was good- flaming cheese Wife loved her Ravioli My jambalaya was good - bit different than New Orleans version - but waiter explained that ahead of time and his description was spot on Would definitely recommend

Yelp
It's really a shame I can't give more than 5 stars, because this place blew me away! Our server was Bob (spelled with 1 O ) and he helped make our night amazing. Walking into the funkiest vibe I've been in for awhile we were seated right away. This is not a big place to begin with and they only have 2 servers so reservations strongly recommended!! The ladies at our table could not decide on a bottle of wine so samples came out to help the decision making process, while my brother and I just had beer. In the end we decided one one entree and a ton of appetizers to be shared by everyone so the server divided it into courses for us. First up was our cheese course. We got the Baked Brie served with homemade pepper jelly, and an amazing flaming Saganaki served with charred pita. Yum! Next up, Tuna Tartare and the most delicious pasta purses filled with pears and cheese, served with cinnamon brown butter and basil. Easily my favorite bite of the night. For the main event, Filet Au Poivre, Chicken Parm, Lump Crab Cake, and Trout Meunière. All were perfectly prepared and delicious! Dessert was fresh choc. chip cookies with Earl Grey ice cream, apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream, and a coconut cream quiche with vanilla. Followed by coffee, Port, and Muscat. Easily the most enjoyable meal I've had in months! Thanks Bob!

Yelp
Had a very comfortable birthday dinner here. We stayed eating, drinking and talking for 4 hours and never felt rushed. Global menu, everything is delicious. I especially loved the appetizers (many of the entrees were available as appetizers) and the desserts. Beer and wine only. Service was very warm and friendly. Decor was kitschy Florida. A low key, relaxed little spot.

Yelp
FIve Stars ¡¡¡THE CREATIVITY OF RHYTHM CAFÉ BLEW ME AWAY!!! HIP, FABULOUS, ALL WITH TONGUE IN CHEEK HUMOR, with an INCREDIBLY diverse menu, this place blew away every posh restaurant I dined at on Palm Beach Island. Where else can you find on the same menu: TUNA TARTARE(Native to Beverly Hills circa 1984 by chef Shigefumi Tachibe) Rhythm Cafe does this dish deliciously and serves it with crackers that have been olive-oiled and lightly sea-salted. YUM! Another delicious winner! AFRICAN PEANUT STEW (FYI, peanuts were first brought to Africa by the Portuguese, while "Peanut Stew" originates from the Mandinka and Bambara people of Mali ). It's served vegan here, don't be scared away that it includes Kale (if you're not a fan of Kale, here it's cooked down without the fierce "rib" part so it tastes like cooked Spinach. It's not a huge portion but it's a nice accompaniment to other offerings on their inventive menu which leaves all others in the dust! - Beep!! Beep! Order their GLAZED CARROTS with CARMELIZED IN BUTTER & BROWN SUGAR it'll make you rethink how delicious carrots can be! They made THIS vegetable-averse chica reconsider eating her vegetables! Their FILET AU POIVRE is INSANELY GOOD , (the second time that I had it, I skipped the beautiful Puff Pastry on top, I even asked them to "skip the poivre", they did so without hesitation. Rhythm Cafè is A FOODIES DREAM!!! This is a really special place where the spirit of creativity is palpable. I've been in Palm Beach County for over two months, place blows every other place AWAY. It's their inventive menu that's GENIUS...here, one can enjoy a number of cuisines from all over the globe in either an entree size OR an appetizer size. Genius move, guys! I came back the very next night. I'm a former Staff Writer for the James jBeard Foundation, I found that between the inventive offerings, the totally kitsch environment (of this former Pharmacy Lunch Counter) THIS PLACE IS NOT TO BE MISSED! PS Everything is completely made in-house - including their famous desserts!!! And the staff is respected by the owners to top it all off. After all, what's more delicious than that.

Ru B.

Yelp
Very nice staff and the food is fabulous. I would definitely return again and again. It was easy to get a reservation and when my friends were delayed a half hour they still seated me.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
I love the Rhythm Cafe but I must tell you that I have had very good experiences here and some not so good experiences here. It is not consistent. The food is good. The service can be friendly and efficient some days, and very slow and neglectful other days. I love the look of the dining room. It has a great feel to it. Especially when it is full of people.

Edward S.

Yelp
One of the finest fine-dining experiences in Palm Beach County. There is a reason that this restaurant has been pleasing palates in Palm Beach County for more than 30 years. The chef's rendition of popular dishes with tasty sauces and delicate spices makes each dish unique. The service is friendly and informative and the restaurant is small enough to never get noisy. Plenty of room in the parking lot. Everyone aims to please, and the homemade deserts and ice cream are a great way to top off the feast. Take your guests here and they will think you are a genius..

Yelp
Great ambience wonderful wonderful servers and great food. I would highly recommend it. They also have a special between five and six.

J H.

Yelp
This place is always a win. My wife and I come down once per year to South Florida, and visit Rhythm Cafe each time. The service, ambiance and food is top notch - Heath Bar Pie...nuff said.

Yelp
Amazing food!!! Amazing service!!! Amazing place!!! Homemade ice cream and desserts are insanely delicious!!!

Yelp
I must say from the outside, you would not have any expectation of how great the food is. The service was excellent bob the waiter for the evening was excellent. He explained all about the food told us anything we needed to know about the ingredients was well- informed We start hot, fresh baked bread a bowl of. Bahamian seafood chowder. Also a bowl of carrot and ginger soup. delicious we then had the African pineapple peanut stew never heard of it but it was very good for entrées. I had the king KIP fish artichoke heart delicious Wienerschnitzel delicious for dessert. We had fresh apple crisp with homemade ice cream so good and Dennis chocolate buttercream layer cake fabulous melts in your mouth. They have free parking you must have reservations pricey average entrée is $33 but well worth it. The Decour is like old drugstore style very cute. They're doing something right because I've been around for a long time and they're always busy.

Yelp
The food was fabulous, the staff couldn't have been nicer. Rhythm Cafe is one of my favorites in the area! I always try to take my out of towner's there!

Yelp
This was my first time to this local favorite spot. We always forget that it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and that is when we try to go. I was very happy that we finally made it! The interior design is very eclectic a nod to the area's industry of antique shops. Servers were very friendly and able to read when needed without hovering. There were definitely groups of regulars dining in their 'usual spot'. I love places like this. I got the African Peanut stew. The flavor was fabulous. Full of kale, onions, pineapple and of course peanuts over couscous. I would have preferred there to be a bit more liquid to seep into the couscous but is my PERSONAL preference, I would order this again in a heartbeat, the flavor was so good. The fiocchi is a ravioli dish stuffed with pear and cheese in and orange butter sauce. Good ratio of pasta to filling and the orange sauce was and interesting twist. Definitely heading back here it was a fun spot!

Ricky D.

Yelp
Upon entering the first thing I noticed was the funky smell then the less than gracious employee welcome and then seats that need to be recushioned. I was 0 for 3 and that's even before the food came. The decor is eclectic which really is a nice word for cheap and is just a mismatch of conflicting styles - although style might be the wrong word. I like different and unique restaurants but this lacked any cleverness or thought. The restaurant does have good bones - check out the floor and the mid-century curved counter but don't look too carefully at the walls and ceiling. Well just because. The quirkiness of the restaurant continues on to the plating and perhaps just throwing cut up oranges and tiki umbrellas used to work but no more and some of my food and the presentation looked downright ugly and who wants to stare at ugly food? With so many sensory negatives I was actually surprised that some of the food was okay but unfortunately most wasn't. A chicken dish was dry, tough and flavorless. A highly touted beef dish also lacked flavor and was fatty and I'm not sure this even should have been allowed to leave the kitchen. Appetizers were okay at best and we didn't bother to finish them. The best thing about Rhythm Cafe is their desserts and this is what we enjoyed most.

Yelp
One of our favorite WPB restaurants! Great food and service and ambiance. Great for a twosome or with a group!

Yelp
The Rhythm cafe does a great job every day. Delicious food in a fun retro atmosphere with excellent service. But if you get the chance to snag a seat at one of their wine dinners, Do It! We attended the Arietta wine dinner last night. The wines were beautiful and the explanations from Fritz, one of the winery owners were beautiful and funny. The music references help to understand the wines. Chef put together a wonderful pairing menu. We began with small crab raviolis in a light cream laced with sage and thyme (perfect with the white Sav/St.Emillion blend). The veal scaloppini with tomato, carmelized onion and a touch of bacon was thin, tender and tasty. The coup de grace was the cassoulet with duck, mini sausage meatballs, white beans covered in a delicious crunchy Panko crumble (and the H Block red blend was perfect with it). The petite filet mignonette was perfectly cooked (pink center) and accompanied by a grilled portobello and a small delightful piece of puff pastry. The baby spinach quiche was delicate and cheesy. Great with the Cab. The dessert was a pot de crème parfait that I did not need, but did not leave (so rich, chocolatey and delicious). Yes, the Uber home was lower to the ground than the ride in . . . We ate some incredible food. Service, as always, was top notch. I'll be back next week to pick up the wine I bought.

Philip B.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with friends. The food, service and ambiance were excellent and the music was a much added bonus. We can't wait to return!

Yelp
Been back here multiple times since first trying it out over four months ago and Rhythm Cafe has carved a special place in my heart as one of my favourite go-to's. Firstly, the food is outstanding, with everything served made from scratch. Secondly, the service is warm, friendly, and attentive - making one feel taken care of and at home amidst the unique ambiance. This is a gem of a restaurant that I always look forward to eating at and consistently hits the spot!

Don S.

Yelp
Awesome vibe, great food, fun place. Real chefs Loved the casual feeling combined with great inventive food Delicious food, decadent desserts

Yelp
Highly recommend this unassuming, eclectic and hidden gem off Dixie Hwy! We tried Mazie's across the street just earlier this week, so when my mom mentioned she wanted to go to Rhythm Cafe for her birthday, we were excited for another great restaurant in the area! With a party of 6, the service was extremely accommodating and the whole restaurant sang her happy birthday. I think this is normally something she wouldn't be into, but it's such an intimate dining room that it felt like everyone was family (not to mentioned they played Dancing Queen and turned on the disco ball right after!). We all ordered fresh fish prepared in different, but equally amazing ways. The herb trout was a table favorite. The smoked fish dip was a great appetizer! We will definitely be back and love the way Ken and his staff celebrate life!
google avatar

Wendy S.

Yelp
Great spot. It's one of those "if you know, you know" spots. Definition of low key and you walk in wondering if you are in the right place - simple kitschy decor - but food is top notch. Go in knowing it's wine and beer only - no bar - but good selection and fantastic food.

Yelp
July 3, 2021: YUM. I love this place. It is so welcoming and comfortable. Bob is still the best. We had Saganaki (Cheese On Fire) with Pita, Shrimp in a Lemon Sauce over Linguine, Tournedos Au Poive (with vegetables and rice, Red Snapper with Artichokes, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Lemon Wine Sauce YUM. The vegetables and salads are great. For dessert, we had Heath Bar Pie and Toasted Coconut and Coffee Ice Cream (made in house). So good and so satisfying. We will keep coming back here. We love it. Prior review: They really are a five. Cool ambience, really good food and service. Bob was the best. The bread is made in house and crusty and good. We had: Tenderloin Tips, Sautéed with Shiitake Mushrooms, Bacon, and Caramelized Onions, Demi Glace Sauce with Crumbled Gorgonzola Cheese on top. Yum. And a Snapper Meuniere Almondine (you have to ask for the Meuniere). OMG good. The fish had a slight crispness from the sautee. Well executed. The entrees come with two sides. We had the green beans, sauteed spinach and coconut rice. We eyeballed the smashed potatoes but...next time. Dessert was an awesome Peach Cobbler with Whipped Cream on one side and house made Vanilla Bean Ice Cream on the other. And an Espresso. We will be back. Great service (thank you Bob), good vibe and awesome food.

Douglas S.

Yelp
Great service, low- key funky atmosphere, And eclectic menu with inventive entrees Extensive fairly- priced wine and beer list Outstanding Klip King Panko- crusted fish main course Excellent apple crisp and heath bar desserts Very good experience for our party of four

Yelp
What a great experience! The unique atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff make this place amazing. The menu is filled with unique and flavorful items, not just the same old same old that you find at a lot of restaurants in the area. I throughly recommend the flaming cheese as an appetizer. Delicious and rare in this area. And the peanut butter pie is where it's at for dessert. Tip: make a reservation.
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
BEWARE - Takeout 15% service charge - It is unfortunate as the food is great. Ingredients and the fish are all fresh, and dining here is extremely convenient as we literally live one block away, however, to be charged a 15% service charge for TAKEOUT is bad policy. Because of that we will no longer be patronizing this establishment.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
We lucked out and got seated without a reservation. The waiter was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. We got 2 apps; peanut stew and raviolis. The stew wasn't really a stew, but was really good. The butternut squash raviolis were amazing and a must try. Wife got the tenderloin which was great, and I got the Camry onion Mahi, which I've never had and was really good. Food really felt like it was homemade. Lots of places say that, but this place you could feel that it was.

Robert E.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was great place a little dated, but will definitely return.
google avatar

Neisha M.

Yelp
This is a unique little place! The decor is interesting and colorful, definitely old school. It's a bit loud in there because of the design. There was an older crowd as it is season. The menu was interesting and I would definitely go back and try something else. My friend i was with did not want to try any desserts or appetizers. I would like to try some of the small plates. I recommend giving it a try. The service was ok, food took a while to come out. It's a different setting for sure.
google avatar

Irene V.

Yelp
Service is excellent great wine list food delicious tuna tartare large portion good quality worth 14$ spinach salad with goat cheese and various types of fish done in many different ways excellent Caramelized with onions & blackened something for all adults who seem to always want to change what's on the menu Had take out Saturday August 15 for 4 the blackened salmon was delicious the Brie was fabulous with a special sweet hot topping worth the ride

Bruce O.

Yelp
Always, always great. Food and services are wonderful. We go back time and time again and we will continue to return
google avatar

Tyler C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this restaurant. I have frequented it on a regular basis since the day at opened. They have an excellent fare. Their approach to desert can be very, and can be a simple as a fresh out of the oven, chocolate chip cookie. He will not be disappointed!

David M.

Yelp
We loved Rhythm Cafe. The service was professional, efficient, and friendly. The food was classically inspired yet unique, and quite good. The dining room is also very eclectic and yet comfortable and warm. We loved it and we will be back.

Yelp
So excited to find a foodie place that is comfortable, friendly and fun! Loved the food menu ambiance and owners! Can't wait to bring friends family and even go back solo!

Brian R.

Yelp
Take four star food, and Restaurant Impossible levels of hermit-crab clutter, and you have the very un-rhythmic Rhythm Cafe. The dining room's look really sets a chaotic, dysfunctional tone from the minute that you walk in: A too-dark-to-be-former-diner, overly busy room that needs simplicity, badly. It's like dining in your mom's tacky garage of collectibles. It's somewhere between City Diner's scary museum of ancient crapola, and the diner-hipster-cool that Howley's has found. The floor plan is kind of weird, and the old U counters seem more like Islands of isolationism than an inviting place to have a meal. Service was was very good, but these guys who wait there cover a lot of ground, and it's very busy. You would think that they might hire a bussers to help water hit table glasses and clear plates a bit better. The food was tasty. My ravioli was excellent. Some of it was well plated. Other dishes the plating was as awkward as the decor. The desserts were very good. Their hours are a bit narrower than the competitors', but they cater to an older crowd, so not a lot of late night eaters when there is a early game of mah jong, or a seminar at Four Arts in the AM. This is not an OCD-friendly kind of establishment. If you like uber eclectic, though, you may groove on it.
google avatar

Gigi L.

Yelp
This is fun and hip and so completely different from anywhere I have ever been before. The menu is wide and varied and truly has something for everyone. They have specials that change day to day. They only have beer and wine and the night we were there they only had one server and we're slammed. He miraculously, somehow kept up. It was kind of amazing to watch. I wish they had liquor. It would fit their amazing menu variety. I forgot to write the review right away and I can't remember what we had but I do remember that we all loved it and our server.

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
A very delightful dining experience. Good A+ Service A+ Food A+ Menu diversity A* Love the hinge made ice cream!

Yelp
Rhythm Cafe is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the unique and retro decor. The food is also really good with a very solid wine list including some gems that you can order by the glass. On their menu, they have dishes marked that are gluten free with a 1 or can be made gluten free which is a big plus for me. I love their housemade health bar pie (also gluten free).
google avatar

Tammy C.

Yelp
OMG! It's been so long since I have been here, Pre-Yelp review times! I know I shouldn't be surprised but I am always blown away by the level of service and phenomenal food. I had the pork chop and it melted in my mouth, cut with a fork tender! The carrots are sweet and cooked perfectly along with the yummy smashed potatoes. The saganaki as a starter-YUM! But then finish with the Peanut Butter and Heath Bar Pie, yes had to have both! So happy!!!!

Yelp
Tucked away on S. Dixie Highway just north of Southern Blvd is this lovely little gym called Rhythm Cafe. I had driven past this place several times on the way to Downtown West Palm. And it's hard to believe I had never tried this place in the two and a half years since I moved to the area. If you love enjoy rich, tasty tapas made with home-cooked care in a funky, little diner-styled cafe with quirky and cool wall hangings, widgets, and sculptures, do not hesitate to check this place out! You can enjoy a meal by yourself or with friends at either one of the tables or at the counter. If you want to sit at one of the tables, make sure you reserve one. It will be worth it! The service is warm and friendly that only adds to its charm as a fun neighborhood hangout if you're looking for delicious food any given day of the week. They have fun music playing in the background, with a cool beer and wine selection. On the first trip, I enjoyed goat cheese pie, veal sweetbreads, and butternut squash ravioli. All of which was sooooo tasty and rich and yummy and pure awesomeness, I will be definitely be coming back again... and again... and again.

Yelp
Excellent eclectic little eatery. A bit pricy but we'll worth the try. I loved my experience there. Food is amazing! Ambiance is cool and kooky. Loved everything about it. Will definitely be back soon! My date absolutely loved it and didn't want to go at all at first. Awesome experience.

Brent A.

Yelp
Great service. Food was outstanding. Definitely going back. We had the butternut squash ravioli as an appetizer and the flounder arti-heart style.

Yelp
I found this restaurant for dinner at the last minute on Yelp. Menu looked interesting so we figured we would give it a try. This was an old drugstore and the counter top with stools remain along with lots of interesting photos and knickknacks. Our server, Bob (with one O), was quite entertaining, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable of the menu and offered us some good suggestions. We shared the tuna tartar, flavored simply with ginger and Thai basil and it was the best we have ever had. For dinner I had the yellowtail snapper with a very light sauce with sundried tomatoes and artichokes that was cooked to perfection. My two sides were green beans and brown coconut rice that was like a dessert. My husband had the pork tenderloin special and said the pork was delicious and very tender. For dessert we shared the homemade peanut butter pie that was pure Heaven. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of peanut butter. It was accompanied by homemade whipped cream which I normally don't like but this was fantastic! We also ordered the homemade pistachio ice cream which was so creamy with lots of pistachio nuts throughout. The two chef/owners are former Culinary Institute graduates and are turning out five star quality meals in a cute, relaxing atmosphere. A bonus was the 80's music playing that we sang along to and the disco ball spinning when it was someone's birthday! Highly recommend this gem!

Yelp
This is just a great restaurant. Very eclectic decor and space, great service - but you really want to come here for the amazing food.
