Riad Olema | Best places to stay in Marrakech | Bucket List Travels

"Formerly two separate riads, Olema showcases traditional architecture – dating back to the 19th century in the Beldi riad – alongside a more contemporary feel in the Romi riad. The rooms are decked out in muted tones – beige, grey, and blue – and, along with the peaceful, leafy courtyard, provide a pleasingly quiet contrast to the lively streets outside. The on-site spa, means guests don’t have to venture far for a hammam or treatment, and the spacious rooftop is a lovely spot for a traditional Moroccan dinner (must be arranged in advance). The location here is excellent, with the new city – home to the YSL museum and Majorelle Gardens – and the main historical sites within the medina both nearby. " - Mandy Sinclair

Absolutely loved our stay at Riad Olema & Spa at the beginning of December. We stayed in the Junior Suite (Chourouk Côté BELDI) and it was beautifully done—warm, cosy, and quiet, with a real boutique feel rather than something generic. From the start, everything felt effortless: we were met at the airport, then welcomed again at the riad where the team explained everything clearly and made us feel at home straight away. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive throughout our stay, always smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. Especially, thank you to Akin. One of our favourite moments was dinner by the firepit—such a lovely atmosphere on a cool evening—and breakfast by the firepit the next morning was just as special. The heated pool was a real treat in December, and the rooftop warm jacuzzi was the perfect place to unwind after walking around the city. The location is also ideal: the riad is within easy walking distance of key areas, so it was simple to explore on foot and then come back to a calm, relaxing space. Highly recommended for anyone who wants comfort, warmth, and genuinely caring service in Marrakech.

This hotel is an oasis of peace in a wonderfully busy city. It is a beautiful place with exceptional rooms and services but the staff are what make it so special. They are so helpful and attentive and make you feel like royalty! A very special mention must go to Hakim who is just the most polite, helpful and amazing person! He will answer any questions and offer tips and information to make your stay and visit perfect. On a rainy day he organised for us to have a Hammam and massage in their Spa which had not been due to open that day! The Hammam experience was sublime and so welcome on a cold wet day! Breakfast was fantastic! Always something traditional and all fresh and tasty. It was such a lovely way to start the day, sitting in the courtyard, listening to the water fountain. We had such a wonderful stay at Riad Olema and can’t recommend it highly enough. We had pretty poor weather but going back to a roaring fire and mint tea at Olema made our stay perfect!

This Riad was nice and welcoming. A warm and cozy place to stay. Service was good. Breakfast was typically, don’t expect anything big. The room was okay, shower design wasn’t the greatest as there was water all over the entire bathroom floor every time I showered.

The most gorgeous Riad. After navigating the bustling streets of Marrakech, stepping into Riad Olema Spa honestly felt like stepping into another world. It's so peaceful and tranquil. We were greeted by very welcoming staff who provided Moroccan tea and biscuits while they checked us in. Our room was lovely with a firm yet comfortable mattress. The breakfast was delicious consisting of juices, hot drinks, sweet and savoury pastries, breads and cakes, jams, fruit and yoghurt. The Riad has 3 small pools, two on the ground floor and one on the roof top with a gorgeous terrace and sun loungers. The water is cold yet welcomed after a morning walking around in the heat. There is a taxi area a few minutes walk from the Riad and it is possible to walk into the main Souks from the hotel, about a 25minute walk to the centre mostly in the shade of the Souks and buildings. We felt safe walking around even at night. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful riad! We had the best stay and so close to all the best spots in Marrakech. It was lovely to come back to somewhere so tranquil after a busy day exploring. We would highly recommend this riad for a traditional Moroccan experience. ||Thank you especially to Hakim, who was so welcoming, friendly and helpful from the start of our stay right until the end.

Visited Marrakech for several days and stayed at two Riads - both with comparable ratings. However, Riad Olema has no substitute when it comes to the space, service or location. Cleanliness is top notch, common spaces are beautiful, while the relaxingly calm vibe provides an amazing reprieve from the bustle of Marrakech. Riad Olema is conveniently located near Dar El Bacha - a must visit museum - which also connects to the labyrinth of shops and market stands. If you’re in search of authentic silver jewelry, short distance from Dar El Bacha, look for Bijoux Ethniques by Chez Hamid. When you stay at Riad Olema, make sure you respect Baboosh - the cat that keeps all the cats in line.

The staff were incredible and super attentive, the whole hotel is so tranquil, yet right in the middle of the medina/markets. Perfect location, breakfast was lovely and served between 8-10. Would highly recommend. We also had a scrub/massage treatment, was around 1hr 30min for £50ish, would highly recommend doing that. I would definitely book this spot if you’re looking for a relaxing and quiet riad in the heart of the medina! The whole team went out of their way to make it an unforgettable experience for us. Pictures are great and accurate, if not better in person :)

Our experience at Riad Olema was pleasant, we were greeted by Samir, who provided us with useful information for our road trip in Morocco. |Riad Olema is clean and very close to the medina, there isn’t any parking available and locating Riad Olema the first time can be hard but not impossible. |The breakfast was delicious and the service we received was welcoming and friendly. |The Riad pool is nice to have a dip in after visiting the medina, there is also a jacuzzi on the roof terrace. |The Riad car Baboush is cute but can creep into your room and refuse to leave, I didn’t mind Baboush having a snooze in our room. |Overall I would certainly visit Riad Olema again
