The Best Roadside Dishes to Fuel a Trip Through Antioquia, Colombia | Bon Appétit

"Located in a flower-filled town southeast of Medellín, this famous spot specializes in stuffed arepas de chócolo—thicker, fluffier arepas made by mixing tender corn kernels into masarepa for a sweeter, texturally satisfying bite. They’re cooked in specialty wood-fired ovens, doused in butter, and stuffed to the brim with layers of quesito; order a side of fried pork belly (chicharrón) and a big mug of hot chocolate for the full experience, arrive early on Saturdays, and consider buying a pack of six or a dozen to take home." - ByIsa Zapata

I read reviews before going to the reafaurant and saw many positive comments on the chocolo arepas. I am not colombian and it was a little bit greasy. I had it with cafe ckn leche. I saw long lines every time I passed. Next time I will go therr for dinner.

One of my favorite places, what I like to eat most there are the delicious chocolo arepas with half a quesito, and the large picada of chicharron, chorizo, morcilla, and arepa. Yummy.

We have driven past it many times with a large line of people waiting to eat. We came up on a Saturday and had an excellent arepa de chocolo con quesito. Tamale was good also a lot of meat. One of the best arepas de chocolo i have had.

Our guide brought us here on our first day after flying into the airport and it was absolutely delicious. Arepas de Chocolo were on point! And the tamale was pretty tasty too. Highly recommend coming here. They even had some live music entertainment while we were there on a Saturday afternoon. If you have the chance you should definitely check them out!
