Word Of The Review: Onigiri
What is a onigiri?: A Japanese rice ball made from white rice. It is usually formed into triangular or cylindrical shapes, and wrapped in nori. Onigiri traditionally have sour or salty fillings such as umeboshi, salted salmon, katsuobushi, kombu, tarako or mentaiko, or takanazuke. It is also a equivalent of a chinese/taiwanese/shanghainese fan tuan (rice roll)
Credit Cards: Credit cards are accepted.
Restroom: They're available. If you enter from the parking lot, it's on your right. You just have to open the door. There's two unisex restrooms available.
Location/Parking: Located in the Town Square Plaza. Parking can be found in the shared lot, along Mission St., on Fair Oaks Ave., or any surrounding residential streets.
Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with modern furnishings.
Service: Service was great! The staffer that assisted me was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions. The 2 onigiri's and pickle didn't take long for me to pick it up.
Onigiri Of Choice:
1) Salmon Miso Yuzu: It was a tad salty, but it was still good. Sure wished there was more salmon meat though.
2) Spicy Eggplant: I liked this one the most.Plus, it wasn't that spicy. Like the salmon, it would've be nice if there was more of the filling. Other than that, it was a delight to eat!
Pickle Of Choice:
1) Takuan: Definitely a palate cleanser and very refreshing. Flavor profile was up my alley. A little crunchy, salty, slightly spicy and a bit sweet.
Rice & Nori For Thought: Definitely coming back for this delightful snack before or after my coffee fill at 2 Kids (Coffee shop) which is across the street.
