I'm about four months late with this review, but my notifications asked me if I'd been to Rice Bowl. Yes. Yes, I have...and my memory is crystal clear. Picture this: fresh off a whirlwind trip to celebrate my daughter's 21st in Vegas, I came home not with memories of glitz and glamour, but with an unwanted souvenir--COVID. I was stuck in quarantine, and nothing sounded good. Enter Rice Bowl, my unexpected knight in Styrofoam armor.
My late uncle had always raved about this place, so in my haze of tissues, cough drops, and DoorDash tracking, I took the plunge. I ordered a soup trifecta: Hot and Sour, Egg Drop, and Wonton soup. Could they deliver the comfort I desperately needed? The stakes were high.
When the bag arrived, I made a mad dash for the door and cracked open the first container: Wonton Soup. Normally, this one's not my favorite, but Rice Bowl pulled through with tender wontons swimming in a flavorful broth. A solid start.
Next up, Egg Drop Soup. One peek inside and I could tell we had a winner. That thick, silky broth with its perfectly swirled egg? It was a throat-soothing dream. Rice Bowl, you're two for two--keep it coming.
And then, the star of the show: Hot and Sour Soup. The lid came off, and the steam carried a glorious aroma straight to my stuffed-up nose. This was the real deal--spicy, tangy, and packed with mushrooms, tofu, and a whole lot of love. It was chef's kiss perfection, and for a moment, I forgot I was sick.
I didn't have the energy to try anything else on the menu that day, and a cruel twist of COVID robbed me of my taste not long after. But I'll always remember those soups--they didn't just nourish me; they brought a little joy back into my quarantined world.
Rice Bowl, you've earned a permanent spot in my soup-loving heart. Whether you're battling a cold, a craving, or just life itself, this place is a must-try.
