Rice Box

We ordered to go. Had the Mongolian Beef. It was so sweet… Ive never had sweet Mongolian Beef. I couldn’t eat it. The orange chicken was good and the egg drop soup. My youngest had the Volcano roll. I’ll stick with Wok N Roll.

This is one of the hidden gems of awesome food in the Shoals area. It's even worth a drive from a neighboring city. The food is amazing, the prices are reasonable, and the service was over the roll. "Grandma" waited on us and I can't remember a better dining experience in a long time. Attentive, funny, personable, and experienced- She was terrific! Love this place!

The service was amazing, our waitress was very friendly, and truly made our experience enjoyable. Furthermore, the food was amazing, hot and fresh. I highly recommend this place to have some amazing Chinese food.

Food was really good. If your looking for something thats like hibachi food but without the grill and high prices, this place is perfect. Not too expensive, great food all around, service was good and was constant. Will definitely be returning.

Owner is Rude. They charge you for green onions on your expensive egg drop soup and ask for some hot mustard for your eggrolls and it’s gonna be an additional fee. That’s like charging for ketchup for your french fries. It’s my understanding that the lady bought the restaurant in the shopping center that it’s located in. She doesn’t like it here and makes frequent trips to New York City. Depending on her servers to run the property without additional financial reward. Very greedy owner very rude.

I give it a 4.8. The food and service were amazing, but the dining area was very hot and humid. I'd eat here a lot if i lived closer, but i would probably get it to go.

I hate to do this because I gave the benefit of the doubt last time. This is the second time I less than a year that I’ve gotten sick from eating here. The last time was in march. I figured maybe at the time it was just something didn’t agree with me. This time my order was completely different. I got sick again after eating food from here last night. I know for a fact it was the food from here because it’s the only thing I had all day since breakfast. I used to like rice box but, unfortunately I will not be back.

Love this place. Food is always amazing, and Party Grandma is my favorite server. She is always exceptional. Love the strawberry roll they serve as well. It is my favorite.

The service is great and the food is even better. I've been there several times and every time is a pleasure . I'll definitely keep going back for more!

I've eaten here for years and didn't think I'd miss it after moving to Arizona five years ago, I can't find anywhere that has the same feel. I always get their pad Thai combo with the angel hair like rice noodles with beef, chicken, and shrimp. I can't find these noodles anywhere else and it drives me crazy. I always have fast service here and the prices are good. I will definitely come back every chance I get to visit.

Best service and sushi in Florence, egg drop soup was good. Fish was fresh, ginger was great quality. Reasonably priced. Relaxing ambiance, clean.

Been hearing about how good this Chinese Restaurant is "Best in Florence !" I've seen countless times on reviews. After living here for a year we finally tried it out last night, I was very disappointed. I started of with the hot and sour soup, it was neither hot (spicy) nor sour. I will say that off the 3 Chinese Restaurants in the 7 points, none of them have a good Hot and Sour soup. I had the Generals Chicken, again wasn't what I expected, could have used more heat, the peppers were there, just not any real heat, and the sauce was different, hard to explain. Everyone raves about the egg rolls. It was very small and flavorless, to be honest I've had better more flavorful egg rolls off the hot food snack kiosk at Walmart up the road. I ordered the fried rice with my meal, it was cold and again flavorless. My wife had the Beef Hibachi, she liked it and I tried a bite. It was very flavorful, the zucchini in it was cooked perfectly and the beef was nice and tender with no fat. The service was excellent, very fast for a Friday night. It seemed they were doing more Take out business than eating in. The ambiance is the typical Asian restaurant where they have moved into a place that has closed and did some remodel but not a total so signs on the old place are still there. Extra items stored behind the sushi bar (paper towels, boxes of cups, etc.) I will try this place again to give it another chance. Is it the best in Florence as others have raved about, hardly.

Always a 5 star experience at Rice Box. Wish they had one where I live. Food is always fresh and hot. The prices are the best anywhere. And the portion size for the money is amazing.

The potstickers were dry and not like any potstickers I've seen , my gfs chicken was dry and the sushi was lackluster and underwhelming. However our waitress was Wonderful! Probably wont go back but really good service.

Awesome food every time. Hibachi chicken is Great! Spring rolls are scrumptious! We eat there every Friday.

Food and service has always been fantastic. I have severe food allergies and they always go above and beyond to accommodate my needs. My whole family loves the variety.

The food is the best. The friendly server meet us right away. Took us to our table. Served drinks and my hot tea. The ambiance was delightful. We met a lady at the next table that made recommendations on the menu. She was absolutely correct. The egg rolls were served first and then our entree. My husband and I were floored at the presentation and the amount of food served. After I ate everything I noticed how large the plates are. The food was the best.

Rice Box, I gotta say, I'm disappointed. I'll explain why, despite Rice Box now being a mini hotel for flys and the like, the portions here have gotten so much smaller. Every order felt like a kids menu size and it's not just because the GIGANTIC PLATES they're on.. the broccoli sizes were big enough to cover half of the noodles given. I feel like I speak for most residents of Florence when I say that we miss Rice Box back in it's prime, even just after covid was finished and you reopened your doors. Your servers are always wonderful but your food and ambiance has taken a huge hit. The traffic seems to have slowed down and I can see why. It saddens me how easily this visit knocked Rice Box off of my "Must Go" list... Anyways let me rate the food I ordered: Cho Cho Chicken - 7.5/10 One again, portions? Small. Flavor was still there though. Mongolian Beef - 5/10 It was more like Onion Beef... and there was barely any of the rice noodles at the bottom. The ball here was dropped and dug itself 6 feet under... Sunshine Roll - 4/10 More like a Cloudy Roll. These use to be a beautiful display and pretty large as well. I could fit the crab on my pinky... and the shrimps...? So small. One of these use to fill me up, I could at least eat 2 orders of them now... Unfortunately, until changes are made I will no longer be a patron for Rice Box. I rated a 2/5 stars purely on service. Fighting flies was not a great experience for me...

I really like the egg rolls and every entree I've tried. I usually get takeout and have no complaints.

Now what foods I have eaten from there was so delicious and I would eat it all over again so yes I would recommend this place to people that has never eaten from there before

Amazing customer service outstanding, food is outstanding and amazing, best restaurant if you are in town my opinion, But overall restaurant is amazing 10/10. ((ASK FOR GRANDMA)) She is amazing.

This is the BEST BEST Chinese / Japanese/ Asian restaurant restaurant in Florence!!! All of the Students from UNA goes here! The food is delicious and extremely extremely affordable! You can have 2 rolls of sushi, soup, and salad for $7!!! You can't beat this! The food is soooo good! I love Ricebox!

The server was really nice we don't quite remember his name but he was tall and had black hair. the portions were large and filling. The appetizers were nice. The sweet and sour sauce was good. The soda was crisp. It was worth the 24 hour drive from Utah.

Yum this place was good. Great service. Nice big portions. I had the pineapple chicken and it was delicious. I had asked for white rice though with it but ended up getting fried rice. But that's fine I'm not that picky. I just wanted to be a little healthier. Great Chinese food. Got a regular entree and a kids size for an adult and it was a good amount of food.

Quick and easy to order and great sushi specials. I can't count how times I've ordered it to-go and enjoyed the food every time.

The Rice Box is a hidden gem in Florence! The prices are low, and the quality of food is superb. We ordered takeout hibachi noodles and sushi & the quality was just as good as ever. They are in the middle of a renovation right now, and I have a feeling I'm going to make many more trips to Florence once they reopen the inside of the restaurant just to enjoy the wonderful food they prepare.

I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone if you are wanting catering, and now i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone PERIOD. They will promise you they can do catering but CHARGE BY THE PLATE. And when its in a pan, its half empty!!!!!! Waaayyyyyy over priced for what it is worth. No business ethics at all. When confronted, they think they did nothing wrong. If you cant do it just say no!!!!!! For "compensation, Obviously you dont know what catering is!!! The price is sooooooo unreasonably high. NEVER WILL THEY GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN.

I love thier coconut shrimp platter and their egg rolls are to die for.A must go if you asked me. Fast service , good quality foods here to pick from.

I eat at rice box multiple times a week and have never had an encounter before until tonight. While they are very understaffed and that's okay, this is an issue that should have been caught. I am very lucky nothing serious happened while eating. I ordered the chicken hibachi and took a bite of chicken and while chewing something very hard poked me in the roof of my mouth almost like a chip. I'm addition, there was a bug in my water. Needless to say I will not be returning to rice box.

One of my favorite Chinese Restaurants in the Shoals. House Noodle Soup is plenty for 2-3 people to share. Hibachi shrimp is my favorite entree. Good place, reasonably priced.

I am always a fan of Rice Box and the value of the food you get is unsurpassed. The sushi is just ok.

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. Ordered ToGo and almost died choking on shards of egg shells. This place is CRAP!!!!

For Asian cuisine in Florence, look nowhere else. Seriously, why would you? There is NO BETTER spot for sushi, gyozas, or fortune cookies in the Shoals. That doesn't mean it's great. It only means it's good, and it's in the freaking Shoals. My favorites here include the gyozas ("dumplings," for you white folks) and cheese wontons. Both come in large enough portions to be a meal. They're technically appetizers according to the menu. Employees are authentic Asians, including the whole "me speakee little English" bit. I suspect they all sit around and talk with Jersey accents during their smoke breaks out back. They have an itamae (sushi chef) behind the counter, and a listing of what's fresh that day. I'm not a giant sushi fan, but I'm told this is the best sushi around Florence. Now let's get to the reasons I had to dock this place a star. Too crowded at lunch time. WAY too crowded. Since Rice Box opened, it's been swamped during the weekday lunch hour. And there is really no place to wait on a table to open up, so a large group of folks are always bunched around the entrance. They desperately need more seating. Also, I have to take off points for the drink offerings. I've had a soda on many occasions, and it's been awful. The carbonation-syrup ratio remains WAY off. Almost undrinkable. I've also tried iced tea... equally bad. Do yourself a favor and order water with your meal. Your tummy will thank me long time.

I was seriously disappointed with my meal here. The seaweed salad was fine. The sushi was not good at all. My dining companion's tempura shrimp was basically just fried batter. They served it with duck sauce in packets. Seriously? I mean for takeout, packets are fine, but for dine in food? The ambience was nice, and the service was good but the food was so bad I won't be back.

Used to go all the time but got sick after eating there TWICE. Not a big fan and better alternatives are very close by . Servers always did an outstanding job.

This place, is alwaysbusy. I've just moved back to the #shoals and was told about Rice Box, tucked away in a probablyolderthanitshouldbe shopping center. Don't be fooled: Rice Box anchors this center and brings business to Seven Points. The service has been great the 3 times I've been there, the food delicious [and extraordinarily well priced]. One of my favourite qualities of this location is the [All of the above] attitude towards Asian cuisine. While in other, bigger cities, you have to choose Chinese or Japanese, Rice Box has a great handle on both and even throws in Thai, and [yet untested] Boba Tea... From what I've heard, patrons are never disappointed when making the Rice Box choice. Grace is one of my favourite waitresses there. Ask for her...and enjoy! The sushi menu is rather extensive, as is the menu. But don't worry, just tell em what you want and they know what you want. The takeout could be better organized, but fast and convenient. Don't forget to request the YumYum sauce!

Kind of a hole in the wall place, but the best Mexican restaurant's are the hole in the wall places. Try the authentic Mexican style taco's their great like the rest of their menu. Enjoy!

I've dined here twice and I'm not sure if I'll be back. I'll start with the good. My entree, Szechuan shrimp, was very good. Perfectly spicy, a nice array of vegetables, and the shrimp were plump and juicy. I enjoyed my spicy tuna roll, it was spicy and flavorful. The miso soup is good, however it's hard to eat with an (abnormally flat) soup spoon. They don't have any other spoon options, so be aware. The prices are fantastic and I appreciate the free wonton strips you're served once having been seated. Now onto the bad. The ginger dressing is more onion tasting than ginger and I found a few pieces of old, mushy lettuce in my bowl. The shrimp lo mein was overcooked and the shrimp were smaller and lower quality than in my entree. My spicy tuna tasted fine, but the tuna in my tuna avocado roll had an off taste. I did not get sick, but it was concerning. The service is not ideal. My server refilled my cup halfway through dining with the incorrect soda, and my sushi order was wrong because our server did not write our order down. My big issue is cleanliness. The tables were sticky, the floors were dirty, and the kitchen was horrifying. The curtain to the kitchen was open while we paid and we immediately did not want to come back after seeing the state. There's cardboard all over the floors, dirty pots sitting everywhere, including the floor, and there was prepped food sitting in tubs on the floor as well. No gloves or hair nets were worn and everything looked dirty. While I personally have not gotten sick from here, I've met several who have. The food is decent, but not worth the risk.

Food is good but since COVID-19 it's pickup only. You have to stand around waiting with about 10 other people until your phone number ( last 4 digits) is called. Would be easier just to call your cell when it's ready ) or text) . Not organized when busy. I've waited 30 minutes even after calling in 30 minutes beforehand.

Called in a togo, they said 15 mins. When I arrived there was a line but it was for pickup & call ins; there has to be a better way especially since some old man made me feel as though I was in the wrong place. I waited 45mins for a "15" min order including sushi that was warm.

The food was ok not the best I've had. The sushi rolls were on the tiny side compared to many other. It was strange with the half Chinese and half Japanese cuisine, almost like they couldn't figure out which they were.

Excellent, just excellent!!! I had the teriyaki chicken with Veges and fried rice!!! The chicken came out on a sizzling plate!!! The chicken was tender, the Veges soft, but not to soft, and the sauce was great. The rice was great, especially with the teriyaki sauce!!! I also had the California roll and some fried pot stickers!!!! Again, excellent!!! You need to check this place out!!!!

Love the food and there prices are excellent especially considering the portion food you get. Never a wait on the weekdays but weekends are crazy

Very disappointed! California rolls were more than half cucumber with very little seafood. The tofu had hard peas that tasted very old and there was hardly any pork. Finally got Maggie the owner to come out, she apologized for the peas but did not seem to care about our other concerns despite being frequent long-term customers. It's a real shame the quality of the food has gone down, the waitresses and hosts are great.

Went here with my mom in law, it's look small from the outside but it's pretty good size with so many tables, and it was busy during lunch hours, service a lil bit slow but the food was good and big portions, their soup so far better and tastier than any other Chinese restaurant, and cheaper which is good, I ordered a asparagus with shrimp and has a good flavor and good sauce I just wishes they will put more sauce. The eggrolls also good, will come back again.

My family's go-to sushi place for a reason. The food (sushi and non-sushi alike) is top notch for the relatively inexpensive price, and the staff is friendly. If you want an oriental restaurant to make a regular habit out of, especially without breaking the bank, you'll find this place hard to beat.

Great service and friendly staff! Ordered to go and it was right in time! I ordered sushi and it was okay no complaints, but not my favorite. Their other menu items are good though! My boyfriend loves their chicken and fried rice!

Used to be good back in the day. Asked for general tso's chicken with fried rice, got flavorless chicken with brown rice. Egg rolls were stale and the prices were quite high considering! Prefer other places in the area over this one.

If you're in the mood for Chinese food this is definitely where you will get the best bang for your buck. The food is high quality and they give you plenty of it! For sushi lovers it's perfect, especially the lunch special. The staff is friendly and and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience.

While the food is cheap and very college friendly, I wouldn't recommend. Service is not good, I pulled out my phone charger one time because it was taking so long for someone to greet our table that we ended up just leaving. A large number of people I know that have gotten food poisoning from Rice Box over the years of living in Florence. I've always gotten the kids menu items because it was so cheap and I could never finish everything on the plate. If you're looking for a cheap and mediocre place to eat, this is it.

Came by tonight for a quick Togo Order. I am working the 4p-4a shift so lunch was at 9:30. I Arrived at 9:50 and they denied me service on a Togo order. I mean there were still 15 people eating inside and I wanted some fried rice Togo. I Eat Rice Box often and was very disappointed to be turned away when they done close until 10pm!

The food is great. So fresh and flavorful. There are two reasons why I didn't give Rice Box five stars. One, the decor is way over the top, kind of random, and a little distracting. The other reason is that if you spend more than one minute inside, you will come out smelling like a giant, stinking fart. It is serious business. Your hair, your clothes, your skin... it absorbs the smell like a sponge. I don't fault them for it, it probably just comes with the territory, but still. I ate here once and then went to class. As soon as I walked in the door the professor asked, "Umm... what did you have for dinner?" I always get the hibachi with vegetables. The hibachi sauce, which is AMAZING, is hard to find at most take-out Japanese places. It's a thick, slightly pink sauce that hugs the rice and vegetables like a warm, creamy blankie and coats the inside of your throat like a hug from the Buddha. Way better than Wok and Roll, which used to be my go-to when I needed an Asian fix. No more. And the prices!! Hibachi with vegetables and an appetizer of cream cheese wontons = less than $9. Amazing food... just get it to-go unless you want to smell like the inside of a dead animal.
