"Spread over three storeys, this delightful venue with an open-air rooftop boasts a rustic décor inspired by local villages and rice fields and serves Vietnamese dishes from the north to the south. The stuffed snails with meat cooked with lemongrass and paired with ginger fish sauce, are succulent, while La Vong fishcakes strike the perfect balance combining vermicelli, marinated fish, fresh Vietnamese vegetables and herbs, shrimp paste sauce and rice paper sheets." - Michelin Inspector

We tried Rice Field’s Michelin Preferred Menu and ordered the escargot, and it was a pleasant surprise. The dish was well-executed - flavorful, balanced, and not overpowering, making it approachable even if you’re new to escargot. The presentation was elegant, and you can really tell that attention was given to both technique and quality of ingredients. The ambiance is calm and refined, perfect for a relaxed dining experience in the middle of the city. We also tried other dishes! Overall, Rice Field lives up to its Michelin recognition. A great spot if you’re looking to try elevated Vietnamese cuisine with a modern touch.

The star of the meal for us was the braised pork! Personally I also liked the fresh spring rolls and didn’t like the grilled meats. My friends liked some but not all of the grilled meats so that’s an obvious mixed review for us. However the staff and service was great! There must be a separate factor here for PRICE because the price was good! 😌

I had such a wonderful experience at Rice Field Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, especially to foreigners like me, and they made sure everything went smoothly throughout my meal. The food was absolutely exceptional — healthy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and it’s easy to see why the restaurant earned its Michelin Star. It truly felt like a perfect balance of authentic Vietnamese flavors and fine dining. By the end of the meal, I already knew I’d be coming back on my next visit to Ho Chi Minh. Worth every penny and highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy a memorable culinary experience!

Our last dinner in Saigon was at a place called Rice Field, and it was quite an experience. We began with some really cool drinks – truly unique concoctions that set the tone for the evening. My partner, being vegetarian, ordered three dishes: a starter, a main, and a fried rice. I, on the other hand, opted for the Michelin-reviewed dishes based on our waitress’s recommendations, which included Snail Meat Stuffing and La Vong Fish Cake When the food arrived, we were absolutely overwhelmed by the quantity. Honestly, we ordered far too much for the two of us. We did our best to finish as much as possible, but even then, we couldn’t quite manage it all. That said, we certainly put a sizeable dent in the spread. The food itself was superb – fresh, incredibly tasty, and to be honest, I cannot find a single fault anywhere. The vegetarian spring rolls were solid, but the braised tofu with mushrooms was phenomenal, truly a standout. The highlight for me was probably the best version of bun cha I’ve ever had; the dipping sauce was on another level entirely, complementing the flavours perfectly. All in all, a fantastic final meal in Saigon.

This restaurant is super popular for a reason! The food looks absolutely delicious, and if you're looking to explore more local flavors, this is the place to be. They take classic dishes and give them a fun twist, elevating them beyond what you might find at a street vendor. It's not just about the charming decor; the flavors are fantastic too! You'll see why everyone loves it here!

Google
i see exactly why this restaurant is so popular with multiple Michelin Guide awards. The food was incredible, i mean so good with so much flavor. The Small Zucchini with Garlic dish was my favorite. The flavor was just incredible and the Zucchini was cooked perfectly, i recommend this dish. My second favorite was the Claypot Rice, you have to get this dish

So so so over priced. We got the viet crispy pancake set with rice wraps, this cost almost 200k and had only 2 prawns in. It looked huge when it came but the entire thing was made up of bean sprouts. The pancake itself had no structure to it and was basically just an egg crisp. The grilled pork was tasty but the rice dumplings it came with were very greasy and there was no substance to the meal. To make it an even worse experience the bill was far more than expected as they added taxes and a service fee to the bill at the end which resulted in the cost being around 300K more than the menu suggested. Would not return. And don’t trust the Michelin listing!!

The dishes looked completely different from the photos on the menu, and the flavors didn’t make up for it. The fish tasted overcooked, like it had been cooking all day. The person behind the bar said he wasn’t a bartender, just the cashier making a few drinks. And the daiquiri came with a salt rim, which made it taste more like a margarita. Overall, two stars.
