I went to this restaurant for the first time. I've passed it several times and have wanted to stop. I wasn't very hungry but thought I'd just grab an appetizer or something for a snack and take it home. It was 3 or 3:30 and there was nobody inside eating at the time. It was very bright and clean. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and a side of Flat Noodles. When I got home I was pretty disappointed because the tempura on the shrimp looked and tasted overcooked. It still tasted ok but had a overcooked/burned aftertaste. Had I eaten there or checked my food before I left I would have sent them back. I love tempura and order it frequently and have never had it cooked like that. It definitely didn't look like the picture on the menu.

Ordered several items last night and everything tasted good. Hot & Sour Soup, Dragon Roll, Dumpling, Edamame, Hibachi Fried Rice, Grill Noodles. Flavors were good. Meat and Veggies tasted fresh. Will definitely return.

Ordered to go and WOW it got here fast and all the food is DELICIOUS!!! We ordered the beef egg rolls, beef and broccoli and sesame chicken. Will be ordering from here from now on!

My roommate Ms.Kathy had such amazing things to say about the food I couldn't wait to try it. Needless to say it did not disappoint. The pho soup was fresh and seasoned very well. And the California rolls were spot on. And might I add that the delivery was super fast and timely. Xx

Just had an incredible meal at Rice Garden! The noodles were picture-perfect, amazingly fresh, and flavorful, truly showcasing their commitment to quality. It's a clean, welcoming spot with a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Portions are generous, ideal for sharing. Definitely a must-visit for delicious, satisfying meals!The boba is not overly Sweet and the edamame is not super spicy. It’s well balanced.

85% of the meal is carrot and onion! This is the second time I order this. It wasn’t until I saw it again did I remember that this has happened before. I wish the description said for onion and carrot lovers. I would have steered clear :(

My husband and I love this restaurant! It's our favorite local place! The service is amazing and so quick and delicious!

I have ordered delivery from this place several times since they opened and I love everything I’ve tried from here so far. The delivery is super fast too not even 20 minutes after I place my order it’s at my door. This time it even came in a cute reusable orange tote bag which I will use again. Thank you for the great food and fast delivery.

I often order here and their food is really good. I especially like the dumplings, jalapeño basil rice and mango slush. Fast service, chill vibes. Not too busy

Honestly the fried rice i had was good but they were so d*mn rude I nicely asked the lady if she was able to remake my thai tea because it was really watered down and I didn't know it had the boba pearls in it so I requested for it to be taken out and I told her that if she couldn't do it, it was completely fine! and I would be totally fine with drinking the drink how it was because I should've looked more closely at the menu! She continued to tell me twice that " next time I should look at the menu", "next time be sure before you order its on the menu" like girl just say yes or no...and before when I initially asked if the drink could be remade, the male worker (sitting in a literal booth...) groaned and threw his head back in the chair?! and told the lady "you do it" like are you serious? God forbid you do your job....my bad for wanting to order takeout .. so I'm like okay..if you don't wanna remake it it's totally fine like I'm not trying to be extra about it. It was a question.... Her attitude was just nasty and so passive aggressive. even when she finished my drinks, she didn't bag them up and she waved her hand and said " you can throw that one away or give it to someone" like how am I gonna carry three drinks in my hand? Why would you not just offer to discard it or something.... Crazy how they act in front of customers and it was my first time here I told them that they don't have to worry about it. There won't be a next time..service 0/10

Return or not return? Return. As a general observation, one of the most disappointing aspects of being in North Texas is the absence of any good Chinese food/restaurants. Likely spoiled after having lived in Vancouver, Toronto, and San Francisco. As for Rice Garden, drove by and decided to try hoping once again for almost anything I can be loyal to. This was clearly Americanized Chinese food and worth a try via takeout. Ratings below are in context of what's in North Texas. Prices: Very reasonable and doesn't feel like the many other restaurants who have taken inflation to a new level. Portions: Texas size and should have no complaints. Appearance: Clean Staff/service: No idea as was takeout, but food was packed ready to go within 20 mins of a web order. Food: Slightly bland which I welcomed bc I find most restaurants over oil or over salt their food. Would suggest some modest modifications to improve reception while still keeping food "Americanized" and keeping costs down. Hot & Sour Soup: Needs more black vinegar, as was imbalanced. It was also missing more of the usual traditional things like wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, strips of pork etc but with all of this no way one can sell for $5.99. Nonetheless, the vinegar alone would have brought it home. Sesame Chicken: Ordered white meat (and liked that they had that option with no up charge). Decent flavor, but slightly mushy hence may order extra crispy next time. Vegetable Hot Pot: It was just ok, very non-descript. In isolation reasonably priced, but compared to pricing of other items within the restaurant, it shouldn't be among the more expensive entrees. Kung Pao Shrimp: Ok, non descript, but edible and may/not order again. Also tasted (and looked) too similar to vegetable hot pot. Singapore Vermicelli: Decent, but needed slightly more curry flavor as was slightly on blander side. A small amount of BBQ pork strips (i.e., char siu) to balance out the chicken would have been nice. Will order again. Want to see them do well, and will do what I can to support them.

I've ordered twice from them now and have mixed reviews. The first time it was just for me and I ordered the honey seared chicken, white rice, and egg drop soup. The chicken was great and I loved the sauce. The soup was really thick, an unusually yellow color, and had zero taste. So won't be getting that again. Tonight we ordered for the entire family (2 adults and 2 teens). Got the honey seared chicken again and paid extra for adding broccoli and carrots. Won't be doing that again because you now get less chicken to fit in the container but you pay more. Also got the sesame chicken which was very tasty. The broccoli beef was not liked by anyone. Husband said his meal of some chicken with garlic sauce was just ok. We also got fried dumplings which my youngest was excited about but said they needed to include more sauce for the amount of dumplings. But the worst part was the almost $5 slice of "Japanese cheesecake". This thing was tiny. Like maybe an inch wide at the widest part. My husband laughed it was so small. Ate it in 2 bites small. Think a slice you would give to a very, very young child. He said it tasted like normal cheesecake and definitely not worth the price. The delivery is very quickly and they give great customer service. Our meal was correct and had good temp. But for over $70 plus tip, this was too expensive to not have amazing food. Will I get it again? Possibly. But I'm going to try some other places first.

I am ever in search of Asian or "Chinese" restaurants and after much searching and many disappointments, I have finally found THE ONE. The way this restaurant blanches & finishes their chicken is slightly different than all other places around here. Most of their dishes have something "special ". The same goes for their egg drop soup. It is simple and equal to THE BEST I have ever tasted. Simply magical! ! !

Happy to have a Chinese spot in the McKinney area. The service was pretty quick and I think the portions are really filling. The fries chicken was good, the general tsos was really good but the shrimp was pretty ok. Also the rice wasn't the best. All in all I would come back bc of convenience! It's not too bad

When you take this for what it is--a neighborhood Chinese place aimed mostly at take out--they earn all 5 stars. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. Portions are generous and also reasonably priced. The staff and owners are so gracious every time we go in. Our favorites: the hot and sour soup is some of the best I've had with huge slices of fresh vegetables. The orange chicken is actually crispy, which very few take out places get right. Crab rangoons are great. We're so happy to have them in our neighborhood!

Overall very good service, this lady was extremely nice to my family and I. Food was spectacular and had plenty of options even if you're a little picky! They also have a very nice playlist going in the background of acoustic music by modern artists. Overall a very fun and worthwhile experience!

Great food! Delivery was very fast! Will definitely be ordering here again - and often! YUMM! (Took pictures after everyone ate. It was so good I decided late to post a review.)

11/17/23- Thursday We ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice with no onions. Tasted awesome!!!

Walked in to this new restaurant and was greeted with a smile. Very clean and fast, friendly service. We ordered the sesame chicken, house fried rice and crab ragoons! Everything came out hot and fresh. Omg!!! It was all so GOOD! I highly recommend eating inside! Very clean and quaint. My daughter and her husband have found their go to Chinese restaurant and I will come again when I visit!

Love the food and service. Their sweet and sour chicken and hunan dish. Yum. Wish the place was bigger. Usually do takeout

Let's start with the good! Quick service and clean casual ambiance. Presentation of food decent. Unfortunately, the food fell short. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Veggie egg roll. A standard dish which isn't too hard to mess up. Unfortunately, it was undercooked including my chicken. The chicken was rubbery. The vegetables were hard as a rock. Also, the sauce had a strange aftertaste. Nah. It's a pass. I'm so disappointed in the Chinese food here in Texas.

First time customer, ordered take out. When I walked in the place was very clean with a luxurious look. The service I got was professional, friendly and welcoming. I was handed my food almost exactly when I was told to expect it. Being a first time customer and the menu being so diverse I wanted to taste so many different flavors, ordered the Sesame Chicken with Lo Mein, Sesame Honey Shrimp with Fried Rice, Spicy Tuna Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Avocado Roll, Crab Rangoon and the Sugar Biscuits. All in All, the portions are great for the price and I would definitely recommend this restaurant, I will be a returning customer.

I ordered the cashew chicken and there were no cashews in it. I called immediately to ask nicely if a delivery driver would bring me a cashew chicken, if possible. The lady said it was likely her partner forgot to add the cashews. I said no problem, if possible, can a driver drop me off a cashew chicken? She said no problem, I will give you 20% off your next order. I gave up. I didn't eat my meal. I am not that picky, but the cashews are what offers texture and crunch, and without it I was disappointed. I will not be ordering from them again. Little to no effort was made to make my order correct, but more importantly, retain a customer.

I ordered the sesame chicken and beef broccoli dishes. The chicken dish was not the greatest and was pretty bland but the beef broccoli was a smash hit out the park!! The service was pretty friendly and the restaurant was tidy. I'd go there again for the beef broccoli for sure...feeling hungry for some now that I'm thinking about it.

Delicious food and reasonable prices. So happy to have them right down the street from me.

I would love to give an honest review of the food, but sadly the woman taking orders can't understand English. This place is right up the street from my house, I was trying to help a new business. But alas, couldn't even get an order placed. If it happened to me how much business are they missing by frustrated potential customers experiencing the same thing.

Highly recommend! Christine provides the best customer service always helpful for new items on the menu and is quick with providing hot quality delicious food!

Found our new go-to for Chinese!! Everything was incredible. We had chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, & beef and broccoli. We ate inside- nice atmosphere. The service was fine. It seemed like everyone was doing everything. 3 or 4 people helped us throughout dinner and forgot our appetizer. It was fine since we ordered 3 entrees. The entrees are large portions! Excited for leftovers. We will be back very soon!

This has become my go-to and my family from Austin/Houston insist we eat here every time they visit. The food is outstanding and plentiful! We love the variety and the flavor. It's not greasy or too heavy.

We will be back! Loved the Singapore noodles and hibachi fried rice. Wonton soup had the perfect amount of green onions (read: a lot). Postickers and teriyaki wings were great apps. Loved everything!!!

We have been twice now and both time I was really blown away how good the food is. The veggie egg-rolls are the best I've ever had. This is a must for my girls and they agree. Tiger roll and Angel roll were awesome. The chicken doesn't have any grizzle, it all chicken. Crispy and delicious. Last time went right when they opened and they were really busy and a little overwhelmed but tonight they were busy and all over it. Both times we were well taken care of. Also if you order $50 you get a free California Roll. 10/10

We were looking for a close to home "go to" Chinese Restaurant, unfortunately this will not do it. Food was ok, but "Americanized, definitely not authentic. Veggie egg roll - mushy on the inside, Hibachi combo rice fried in soy sauce, heavy not light and fluffy. Mongolian beef - biggest disappointment, beef was over cooked, dry and chewy, a little spicy but not one red pepper, brown sauce had little flavor, onions were not crispy and over cooked.

Food was great and generous portions. They offer white/breast meat which is a plus. I highly recommend them authentic and fresh Chinese-American food

Food was fresh, served hot and portion was large for lunch with reasonable pricing. Services was provided by owner and extremely helpful. Per the owner they will delivery with 7 miles radius so we will use for takeout as well.

Nice, clean and comfortable atmosphere. Service was quick as well as the preparation of our meals. It's basic Chinese food.

We went to this place recently and enjoyed the food except for one thing. The entrees don't come with any vegetables; only meat. The serving size is plentiful, but no veggies. The place itself is pleasant and the people are friendly for the most part. Another thing was the rice. Although plenty of rice; it looked like they just put soy sauce on it. Didn't see much if any egg or anything else. Price was a little high for what you get for dinner. May try lunch.

The sushi rolls are really reasonable and very yummy. Servings for entrees are large, so, leftovers- yay!

Hard to find any good Chinese in McKinney area, have to go to East Plano. Stick to fried rice here, otherwise below average.

Have been here several times for take out. Food is consistently well prepared and tasty. Recently I ordered an item and when I opened it it was not the one I ordered. I called to let them know that they needed to tell the cooks to be more conscientious about the orders. The person immediately spoke to the manager and they said they would prepare a new one and deliver it. It arrived quickly as promised. Extra points for fixing the problem promptly. That's the way to keep customers happy and coming back!

Great Chinese food in Mickinney area so far. Food tasted with quality..great portion size and good service.

We ordered the Singapore noodles for take out. We did not know that the noodles were a curry flavor and the sauce was not mixed well into the noodles. We could not eat the rest of the noodles. Unfortunately this was a disappointment. We are willing to try different dishes next time.

Decided to check this place out. Food was nothing too special kinda disappointed to be honest. Okay service

The service was great, and the restaurant's interior is lovely. I really liked the kimchi ramen, lettuce wraps, and Mongolian-style chicken. The Szechuan spicy combo was also pretty good. Unfortunately, the basil jalapeño fried rice wasn't to my taste, but everything else was delicious.

The food was really good and the inside was clean. I really liked the variety. The Strawberries Fruit Tea was refreshing and sweet!

Really had high expectations for this place, but alas, I was to be disappointed. Ordered Mongolian Beef to go. It came with three small pieces of beef weighing a few grams, and the rest was onions. The same thing with the Kung Pao Chicken. A whole lot of mushrooms, no chicken. If they had called it Mongolian Onions and Kung Pao mushrooms, at least it would have been honest. I don't steal from people, and I find it really unforgivable when businesses steal from their customers.

We tried this out tonight for the first time. Food and service were both outstanding and the prices are super reasonable. We ordered wonton soup, lemon chicken, fried rice, and green bean chicken. Staff even went out of their way to go get more green beans at the grocery store down the street because they were out and that was a dish that we wanted. So excited to have this place near by us!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, the service was terrible and the food was awful. The chicken smelled of ammonia and had no flavor in any dish. Rice tasted like instant cheep rice. I'm blown away that this spot has any positive reviews.

Walking in I had limited expectations seeing as it is in a strip mall and has a "strip mall" kind of vibe but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was extremely fresh and very flavorful. Definitely the best lo mein in the nearby area. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive.

Rice Garden is our favorite Chinese spot! Consistent, large portions, and great prices!
