Phnom Penh Noodle Shack Has Served the Best Soup in Long Beach for 37 Years - Eater LA

"Today, the business has grown beyond Long Beach with a second location in Cerritos that opened in November 2017. Named Rice String Noodle Shack, the restaurant features an expanded menu with appetizers like lemongrass marinated beef skewers, entrees like fried cornish hen, and Cambodian desserts like shaved ice topped with grass jelly, longan, jackfruit, palm seed, red bean, and condensed milk." - Judith Rontal

We had a great time here at this restaurant. All the dishes were delicious, but the chicken wings were the best. The sea cream taro milk tea was good. I ordered 25% sweetness, but it was pretty sweet for us. Overall, it was a good experience. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.

First time trying Cambodian food. Unfortunately, our first mistake was not asking the server for recommendations. Reading the great reviews and rating makes me feel bad with my 3 stars but take this from someone with fresh take on these meals. 1. Seafood noodle soup, dry, with bone soup on the side. Half and half small/thin rice and egg noodles. The noodles were overcooked, the extra soft noodles just didn't bode well with me. Regretted getting seafood instead of beef and meatballs as my initial choice. Anyway, the seafood came with shrimps, 1 mussle, small piece of squid and scallop, slices of fish cake, and 3 whole pieces of imitation crab. The soup was okay, not too rich. 2. Me ka tang - pan fried noodles with beef and veggies. Again, extra soft noodles. Maybe that's normal, but just not for us. 3. Bai mon bowl - rice topped with veggies and chicken, and an egg. I didn't try this but was told it was okay, not something she'll order again. The staff were friendly and place was packed so we probably just didn't order the good stuff.

It's been a very long time since I've been to a Cambodian style restaurant. One of my friends told me to check this place out, and I'm glad that I did. It was nice to be able to order some of the homestyle food that I had growing up. We ordered the beef sticks with rice, Loat cha - an udon stir fried dish, and Phnom Penh House Special noodles (dry). All the dishes were great! The beef sticks had the nice grilled flavor to it, and the meat quality was great.  The Phnom Penh noodles had great flavor to it. The stir-fried noodles were good, and they even had the old-school hot sauce (not sirircha) that I grew up using. The servers were super polite and also made sure that we had everything we needed.

Our first time to try Cambodian cuisine and we love their Student noodles that came with a free bone soup especially on this cold winter night. Portions are huge for a reasonable price. Great location, service, and parking.

Delicious soup! Really good chicken egg rolls! The soup had a garlic broth and was warm and nourishing. I recommend the type C noodle if you like thin noodles like me.

We came on the weekend in the late afternoon so it wasn't busy. Good flow of services. Big portion, been craving for some student noodle with a soup on the side. Update for beefstick with rice: beefstick, No taste to me and rice doesn't have that jasmine smell or yummy texture. Rice probably low quality.

Fried rice wasn't great. Spring rolls were spring rolls. The wings were delicious. I know it's a noodle place but I'll have to wait till it cools down before I can even think about soups.

This is my family's all-time favorite Cambodian restaurant!! We've been going here for years and the food has always been top notch. If you have a large group, they can accommodate on the patio. If you are new to Cambodian food, see if your friends and family will share so you can try a little of a lot. I recommend the student noodles, cha qui (bread), beef sticks, spring rolls, and charbroiled beef. The Boba is good for dessert.

Yelp
Fresh and delicious. I haven't eaten much Cambodian food, but it seems like a mix of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese ingredients and items. Thai Tea - not too sweet so you can actually taste the tea. Very good. Coconut water drink - light and refreshing. Tons of coconut slices, basil seeds. The "Chinese donut" is fried fresh and tastes good. Best used to be dipped in the pork broth (or tossed into porridge). Beef skewers.... wow. This is the must get item. Super tender and flavorful. #2 "Mo's" - noodles were great and flavors were nicely balanced. Tons of protein on this compared to other places serving this similar dish. You can get it wet (in soup) or dry (soup in the side). I usually go dry and put a few spoon of soup on the noodles and drink the soup separately. I got the thicccc egg noodles which were chewy (in a good way). We also got the egg rolls. Freshly fried and decent. Filling didn't really do it for me (I prefer super meaty vietnamese ones), but wasn't bad. Very crispy and served w fish sauce and slightly spicy sweet and sour sauces. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm craving these noodles. There is indoor and limited outdoor patio seating. Service is fast and courteous. Parking is easy to find.

Yelp
Husband and I came here on a Saturday afternoon, we were surprised to get seated within ~10-15 mins. I know this place can get pretty packed, but I guess more during the evening? There's ample parking. Nearby parking might filled fast, but it's a part of a larger strip with other stores, so you should be able to find parking even if it's a little bit of a walk. We were seated outside. Their service is just fine. They basically didn't come back to check on us at all during our meal, and I had to get up to physically pay for my order inside at the register (as I saw other patrons do) because my husband and I didn't want to gamble on how long it'd take them to eventually walk by. This has been a consistent thing whenever I've visited. The food is really good! We got the Loat cha with beef, Mo's special, and fried banana. Loat cha was tasty, had a delicious charred flavor to it which I really enjoyed. They give you fish sauce for the loat cha, but I found myself not liking the combination of flavors. The Mo's special is a noodle soup with ground pork, sliced pork, and beef balls. The flavor of the broth is really good! Flavorful and clean. I feel kind of meh on the meat that comes with it, felt a little overcooked and tough, but still tasty. My husband was the one who wanted the fried banana (I...don't like banana), but I took a bite for reviews sake. My husband and I both agreed the mushiness was not something we liked or expected. He was expecting a firm slice of banana, but we both agreed the flavor and crunchy outside was good. Not sure we'd get again, but worth trying if you like the taste of fried banana but with a soft inside.

Yelp
I am glad I stopped by this Cambodian noodle place. Easily found at the corner of Pioneer and South Street. Although, the entrance was a little tricky to find as it was on the side of the building on the east side of the patio. The inside was pretty small with only a few tables. However, to compensate for that, they have a large outdoor patio. I decided to sit inside. A waitress took my order once I sat down. They had many noodle dishes. I definitely liked the fact that they had a variety of noodle types. I decided to get Mo's noodle soup with large egg noodles. It hit the spot. The broth was on point and quite savory. I'd definitely come back again.

Yelp
Wide range of food offered here at RiceString. What is known for cambodian food, they do have other items and for some reason, I was craving Hainan Chicken. The dish was great; it came with the three different sauces. It got me full pretty quickly. My group got their noodle soups, and they loved them too. It is recommended to get the chinese donut with your soups to dip and eat. The restaurant can be super packed on a Saturday afternoon. For a party of 3, we got seated after 30 mins of waiting. So be prepared for the wait if you are coming with a group. When I was outside, I recognized the building, and I think this is the old Guppy's building.

Yelp
Yum! There wasn't a wait, fast and attentive service. Chill, Clean restaurant, easy parking. Food was yummy. It's the sister restaurant to Phnom Penh noodle shack in Long Beach! We had the Phnom Penh house special (with big rice noodles, dry/soup on the side ) and the student noodles with beef. Both were super scrumptious! Loved that the student noodles also came with the pork bone soup! Excited to come back to try more

Yelp
Such a hidden spot in the Cerritos area, I'm sure it's well-known. We were looking for something light and different and came across this restaurant onYelp. We weren't sure what to order so we ask the friendly helpful waitress and she recommended these dishes although I don't remember the names. I'm sure she said something about it being the most popular dishes were very tasty and came with huge portions. You can get it with the soup in the dish or soup on the side we opted for a soup on the side. Both dishes were savory and the veggies gave it that nice crunchy texture. My dish came with so much beef I couldn't finish it. The broth was perfect not bland or salty. Definitely felt like a home cooked meal. Restaurant itself is big & clean with a great helpful staff. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Yelp
It was so busy here on a weekend, I'd recommend coming right when they open or have someone waitlist at the front ahead of time. We waited nearly 45 minutes after waitlisting, standing outside in the cold the whole time. I can see why the restaurant is so popular, but in the future I won't wait there longer than 15 minutes because there are plenty of other great places to eat at without having to wait so long. The first thing on the menu that caught my eye was that they had BOGOhalf-off drinks. Cambo Khrack Iced Coffee and Jasmine with Sea Salt Cream were good but super strong and sweet (gave me the jitters). They're also huge, so they lasted me a long time, especially after diluting the iced coffee with more milk and ice. Moving on to the food: house special rice porridge and noodles with pork bone soup gave us a nice sense of comfort that was perfect for a chilly day. The combination stir fry noodles weren't all the great, though, despite it being described as a favorite among customers. I preferred the umami flavors and different textures from the porridge and other noodles. Lastly, the crispy fried banana dessert was delicious! We ate these up real fast, but I felt that it was too expensive for what seemed like two halves of a banana battered and deep-fried. Staff were friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible, which we appreciated. We sat outside, and they started up one of those portable heaters for us when it got windy and overcast. They seemed very young (college-aged) but knowledgeable about RiceString's offerings.

Yelp
My first time trying Cambodian food! I definitely see some cross over with Vietnamese and Chinese food. We started with the spring rolls. They were pretty big, I loved the fresh herbs and crunchy cucumber. The fish sauce was on the sweeter side. I ordered the Mo's Special which comes with ground beef, sliced pork, and beef balls. I had the soup on the side which came with a few tender beef bones. It was so comforting! I loved the proteins, especially the beef balls. The cilantro, green onions, and lime added some brightness, and the fried garlic added a nice crunch. It also comes with bean sprouts on the side, which you can ask for raw or steamed. The bowl almost tasted like Vietnamese hu tieu. My bf ordered the Phnom Penh House Special and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Everything was tasty! Service was great too. Overall, I'd recommend this place!

Yelp
Came with some ladies here on a Thursday late lunch. It was a May Gray day and slightly chilly so hot soup was great comfort food, families flavors but not the same as the usual Vietnamese pho or Thai or Korean soups. The soup broth is always delicious and can be served on the side or in the bowl with all the noodles and meats. Ask for the bean sprouts steamed to keep the broth still hot. No waiting for a table either after the usual noon till 1pm lunch hour. Our server gave us time to read the menu - we came hungry and got appetizer meat bread plus crispy egg rolls, and fried bananas too. Very quiet this time, several outdoor tables were being occupied as well , and the patio heaters were turned on because of the spring chill. The noodle soups give you a choice of rice or egg noodles, thick or thin, soup is also served on the side on inside with various shredded meats. My order was #1 house special PHNOM PENH NOODLES (HOUSE SPECIAL) Sliced pork, ground pork, stomach, liver & shrimp. I just got a regular sized bowl and it was more than enough to satisfy. Also has porridge dishes: #21. MO'S SPECIAL RICE PORRIDGE Very yummy rice cooked in broth - Includes ground pork, chicken and beef ball. Also sweet dessert drinks and coffee available.

Yelp
Looking for a place to eat authentic Cambodian dishes. A friend referred me to this location in cerritos. So decided to give it a try. Seated and Greeted. Wait time to get seated was about 10 mins on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered a soup dish with breadsticks, Noodles and beef sticks. I don't recall the actual name, so I am referring in general terms. The food did not dissapoint! This place hit the spot. Broth was tasty and the meats were fresh. My wife and I were content with the portion sizing that was served. Most important, the service was excellent! We were getting checked on every 10 mins. Everyone had smiles on their face which made the ambiance warm. I wanted to try something different aside from Korean, filipino, Chinese and Thai Food. Something out of the ordinary. This place is the place we were looking for. There are many Cambodian restaurants in the Long Beach area but hesitant to try out because of the locations they are in. (In the Hood) Place has plenty of parking and the area is clean. I recommend.

Yelp
I love this place! Anytime I'm looking for a hearty bowl of noodle soup, I love Cambodian noodle soups :). The portions are big especially if you order the soup on the side since it comes with extra meat on the bone. The beef stew and regular noodle soup is great! I love getting a side of the Jacquai (chinese donuts) to dip with the broth as well.

Yelp
A great, casual spot for Cambodian food with a large selection of noodles. My friends & I came here for lunch and found the service to be very helpful/knowledgeable. I recommend asking your server about portion sizes because some of the noodles like the student noodles are big enough to share, while others like the Phnom Penh noodles are better for an individual.

Yelp
My friend and I came here on a weeknight to grab a quick dinner here. I ordered the hainan chicken and enjoyed it! The meat itself was tender and juicy and the sauces that came with it complemented it really well. It comes with a side of rice and pickled veggies. I expected the rice to be somewhat seasoned or flavored, however, it was just normal white rice (which is still enjoyable but I feel like a lot of hainan chicken has flavored rice). Portions here were large and is probably more than enough for a single person. I would say that the prices here are fair given the quantity and quality of food given. The store is on the smaller end, however, there was plenty of seating when I came and there was no wait. The ambiance is on the casual end but is still nice. Service was quick and friendly and we were checked on a few times throughout our meal. The store has a decent sized lot and finding parking is not a problem.

Yelp
Having driven by numerous times, I decided to finally try RiceString Noodle Shack. It is the sister restaurant to Phnom Penh Noodle Shack in Long Beach, but with easier lot parking, a bigger menu, and longer hours of operation. The interior is bright and clean, and there are some outdoor tables too. Everyone was watching the Super Bowl. Service from our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Water was topped off multiple times. The menu is large, and we ended up ordering loat cha with pork and chluy bowl (dry, comes with a side of bone broth if you dine-in). We also ordered a cha quai on the side and Cambodian shaved ice as dessert. The bone broth was amazing as always, and the loat cha also super tasty (with unique "pin" noodles). Portions were quite generous and prices very fair. The shaved ice was different and I loved all the toppings, but the pink and green syrups tasted a bit artificial. Nonetheless, it was a large bowl definitely made for sharing. Overall, would not hesitate to come back, especially if there is a long line at Phnom Penh Noodle Shack and you can essentially get the same food here.

Yelp
3.4 stars This is my first time trying this restaurant and I'm no expert at Cambodian food, but this restaurant was pretty packed and there was a wait when I got here, so I assume it's popular with the locals. These are the items I got: Beef stew noodles: rich tomato-based stew with tender beef chunks and tendons. The broth itself is flavorful and comes with a plate of lime and bean sprouts. Unfortunately, the tendon was too chewy to be consumed. 3.5/5 stars Chicken Loat Cha: stirfried cone-shaped rice noodles with garlic, green onion, and bean sprouts. This wasn't salty enough, but the garlic was strong. 3/5 stars Fried egg rolls: served fresh and hot. The filling had a nice savoriness to it and doesn't need sauce, but it came with fish sauce and sweet chili sauce. 3.5/5 stars There is free parking on site. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
The good: food is amazing. Every item I ate was tasty and tons of table condiments to enhance the flavors. The bad: long waits and minimal service. We waited a good while towards closing time and when we finally got seated, it took awhile to get water to our table. Then it took awhile before some asked if we wanted to order. No one refilled our water. Lastly, no checked if we wanted boxes or the bill towards the end. The wait staff mainly just do the barr minimum of getting the food to the table and that's it. Overall everything I tasted was amazing so my review is above average. They just need tow work on the customer service part.
google avatar

Tuyetnhi M.

Yelp
The food here is good but still does not taste as good as the Long Beach location. We only came here since it was a Monday and Long Beach's location is closed on Monday. Also, they charge $5 here for jasmine tea, whereas the LB location does not. (Jasmine tea is free at many Asian noodle shops for those of you who aren't familiar with this concept).

Yelp
Met a couple friends here who live in the area for lunch. One arrive around noon to get on the waitlist and it was about an hour before we got seated. Parking was not bad, there's a decent amount of lot parking available. My bf and I ordered the Beef Stew noodle soup with the mix of rice/egg noodles so we could get a taste of both and the Student Noodles with beef that came with a bowl of pork bone soup. The portions were so big that we barely had any room on the table. We thought the prices were pretty good for the amount of food you get (most dishes ranged around $15-$18). As for taste, we liked the beef stew a lot as the broth was deep and flavorful with very tender beef. The student noodles were good too but it wasn't a super standout to me. I liked the pork bone soup that came with it as well. For me, not to say it wasn't good but it wasn't amazing enough to justify driving out here especially with that wait time. But if you live nearby, I think it's a great option for Cambodian food.

Yelp
Tried the seafood lot cha and it definitely hit the spot! My favorite Khmer dish is lot cha, so I had to do it. it was hot and fresh and ready in less than 15 minutes for pick up. Definitely need to try their other dishes here!

Yelp
This place has been on my bookmarks since forever so I was so excited to finally be able to try it! We came on a Tuesday evening (6:30PM-7PM) and it was not busy at all. We opted to sit outdoors since we brought our dog with us. They were so friendly and even brought a dog bowl for him to drink! The menu is full of so many great options but we went with the #1 Phnom Penh noodles with soup on the side. I got the mixed noodles of thin white and yellow noodles and it was the perfect texture and quality. I also subbed out the stomach and liver which they were nice enough to give more portions of the other proteins instead! The flavor of the complimentary bone soup and the sauce from the noodles bring me back to my childhood. They also serve the noodles with lime wedges and bean sprouts and condiments on the side! The parking lot was empty and very spacious when we came but can also be difficult to find parking if busy. The service was very attentive and friendly when walking us through the menu. I will definitely come back in the future to try their other dishes!

Yelp
Wonderful staff and food. Large portion, split my leftover into 4 meals. Student noodle comes with a soup.

Yelp
Phnom Penh House Special Dry Noodle is my go-to! I really like their noodle and it's my first time trying Cambodian Soda Eggnog! Very interesting drink! The only thing I hope they would change is the noodles are always overcooked!

Yelp
Woke this morning craving katiew Phnom Penh (Phnom Penh noodles). We arrived close to 12pm. They were playing Cambodian music on their speaker. The restaurant was quite busy. There were about two parties ahead of us. The waitlist on the Yelp app was off so we had to go into the restaurant and check into Yelp waitlist on their iPad. The wait was about 11-21 minutes which was doable for us. I say this because our son was with us as well and he sometimes can't wait too long. My husband and I both ordered regular #2 MO's Special dry = broth on the side. He had small egg noodles and I had small rice noodles. We also ordered cha quai (bread sticks), crispy egg rolls for our son, and Cambodian fried rice with Chinese sausage. The foods were delicious! It always hit the spot. We would definitely be going back again.

Yelp
Every time I've come, I can say that the flavor in the food is there. Portions may be a little off such as the beef bone having hardly any meat, but then the next time you get a bone it has a good amount of meat. It is what it is though, because flavor is there - not a big deal. Went tonight and the service was absolute shit. The staff didn't really care to check on us, or acknowledge us . In our time there , in asking for things, we always said "Thank You." Not once did any of the different servers who came to our table ever say anything along the lines of " You're Welcome" or "No problem" - just handed us what we asked for and left. The only friendly & helpful server was the Caucasian girl. I did not get her name, but incredibly nice & helpful.

Yelp
Yummy Cambodian food!! They give very generous portions, so you know you're getting the most out of your dollar here. Pro tip to newcomers is to order the soup on the side. First time I went, I did not. Second time, I learned better and it was a game-changer. Comes with a beef bone with lots of meat still attached and when you add the marrow from the bone to the soup, soooo rich and tasty. Super yummy and cheap! Would recommend!

Yelp
Food 5/5 Always good. Phnom Penh obviously the go-to. Growing up I used to eat the Babah, great for kids. Ordered the Loat Cha this time, it was good but I'll stick to the House Special next time. Service 5/5 Thong is server in training, very polite. He did have to triple check some of our items but it's understandable because he's still learning, I feel like he has good foundation because he wanted to make sure to get it right. I would also recommend to table check a little more often because we were waiting on napkins for a bit. Ranya wasn't our server but was looking over. Just from her dynamic you can tell she has great experience. Notes Just as good as OG location on Cherry, just in a better area. Plenty of parking and outside seating available.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here a little past noon on a saturday and there were plenty of parking and seating available. They have indoor and outdoor dining, which guest are able to choose, if available. Service was friendly too! Never tried cambodian food, but the soups oddly enough reminded me of vietnamese pho. My partner got the beef stew noodle soup and I got the #2, Mo's special. Both were tasty. I was ecstatic that they sold youtiao (fried donut) , which you can to dip into the broth. It's slightly chewier and less crispy than I expected, but it did the job of soaking up the broth.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here for lunch after an errand in the area, waited about 5 minutes before being seated. They have both indoor and outdoor tables. The service is really friendly and quick. We got the wings that came with delicious pickled cabbage. I got the #1 Phnom Penh noodle with flat rice noodle and soup on the side. I love the various cuts of meats and the flavor. The bone broth was also perfectly hitting the spot for a cloudy day. My fiancé got the student noodle that was such a flavor bomb and super tender meats. Overall an amazing spot for Cambodian food! Would for sure come back again!

Yelp
I haven't been to this plaza since this place was Guppy's LOL so it was nostalgic af being back. We ate here on Sunday morning during the start of Hurricane Hilary and apparently quite a few other people had the same idea as us because all the tables were full lol. (There's outdoor seating, but it was unavailable due to the rain.) The movie "Tangled" was playing on one of the TV screens which was nice. It was my first time here so I didn't know what to order, but luckily I came with seasoned veterans of this restaurant who provided me with some great recommendations. I ended up ordering #3 beef and meat balls with big egg noodle and soup on the side. (Next time I order this I think I'll get the soup inside.) The soup comes with this ENORMOUS beef bone. I also ordered the sea salt crème taro milk tea and that was *chefs kiss*. The table ordered the cha quai, beef sticks, and egg rolls as well. Everything was delicious! Service was pretty fast and everyone was friendly. All of our orders were different and one of the #1 orders didn't have stomach in it, but they quickly brought out a small bowl for my friend. I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes! 10/10 recommend :)

Yelp
One of my favorite spots. I've visited this restaurant so many times I've lost track. I always get the fish noodle soup with the large egg noodle. The portion size is great and the noodles are always cooked to perfection. It's so hard to find a good noodle soup place, but this one always hits the spot!

Yelp
Came here on New Year's Day and there was already a line. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I like that they have a patio area for outdoor seating. Ordered #1 and #5 of the soup noodles and #16 of the stir fried noodles. They were all good. You have an option of getting the noodles in the soup or the soup broth on the side. If you get it on the side it comes with a pork bone. The noodles were not soggy as they weren't sitting in the soup. My fave is the stir fried noodles. It's the needle-noodle. They give you a jar of sweetened fish sauce to pour onto the stir fried noodle and I recommend doing that, makes it tastier. Portion size was big and pricing was fair. Give this Cambodian styled noodle shop a try if you're in the area :)

Yelp
There are not many instances when I go to a restaurant and can not get the food off my mind, but that is the case with RiceString Noodle Shack! I got the house special noodle soup, chicken wings, cambo-neigts, and a taro drink. Everything was DELICIOUS! My favorite out of what I got has to be the chicken wings which were perfectly crispy and had fried shallots, onions, and jalapeño garnish. The taro drink surprised me because it was so well flavored that even when my ice melted, it tasted good! It did not taste too artificial or sweet. I got the noodle soup with soup inside, but I would definitely recommend getting it dry and having soup on the side! When going, remember to join the waitlist before hand! I went around 10:30am and the restaurant was busy! I WILL be coming back soon!

Yelp
Been here so many times now, this place never disappoints. The wait time usually isn't bad and parking is readily available. Staff is friendly and happy to answer any questions you have about the menu. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I usually get the Mo's Special or Beef and Meatballs Noodle Soups, but the Me-Ka-Tang, the porridges, and the Hainan Chicken are all really good too. If you're looking for delicious comfort food, this is the place to go. They have something for you in any weather! The soups are all really good and I like that you can customize your noodles. If you like to have something to dip into your soup, they have bread sides. I usually get the cha quai and nom hing. If you haven't tried cha quai with condensed milk, you should. There's still plenty of things on the menu I need to come back and try. Overall, 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be coming back again.

Yelp
One word to describe this place. YUMMY. One of the only authentic Cambodian restaurants in the area until you travel into Long Beach. My favorites here are the Beef Skewers and the Lot Cha. My god those are mouth watering, the sauce that they give with the loat cha is especially good! On top of that, the breads are very authentic and tasty as well, the round sesame bread and the cha quai are my personal favorites!

Yelp
3.5 stars for takeout because the soup does not come with the pork bone it does when you dine in. The experience is definitely better dining in.

Yelp
I really like that there finally a Khmer spot in Cerritos/Artesia area. I do enjoy their Phnom Penh Noodles here, I like mine dry style- only way I like it! My kids like their Fried rice and my mom likes the porridge/ congee. I also love that they make the Chinese donut fresh! Some like to dip in their soup or congee- I love it as an appetizer- lol. This spot never disappoints when you're craving some broth that taste exactly how your mom would make it. The customer service is always great, very family friendly vibe. It's a cute spot, with indoor and outdoor seating- for small to big parties. They have some really beautiful pictures and art that are of Cambodia. Definitely our go to spot when in Cerritos/Artesia area!

Yelp
Was in the area and was looking for some place new to try. Pulled up Yelp and RiceString Noodles Shack came up. We've never tried Cambodian food and decided to try it. The place was busy on a Monday at lunch so that was a good sign. We were seated right away and ordered several menu items. Service-our order was taken right away and we got our food fairly quickly. 4/5 Chicken egg rolls - crisp and flavorful. They give you 5 pieces and two sauces 5/5 Phnom Penh Noodles (House Special) Pork Meat (sliced, ground, stomach, liver) and shrimp. Really liked this soup. So many ingredients and such a rich broth. You get to pick which noodles you would like to add. We got the large and it was a huge portion. The liver kind of added a bitterness to it. 4/5 Student Noodles Small rice noodles, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, serve with our home made garlic fish sauce, and choice of meat. No noodle We picked shrimp for our protein and they were definitely generous with the shrimp. It also came with a side of soup with a meat bone that literally fell off the bone and had such a rich beef flavor to the broth. 6/5 Cambodian Fried Rice With Chinese Sausage. Made with Chinese sausage, Chinese broccoli and eggs. This was our favorite! We decided on beef for the protein and they were definitely generous with the beef and sausage. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. Salty with a sweetness from the sausage. This was a 10/5! Cambo Khrack Ice Coffee Subtle hints of chicory, chocolate & coconut. They had me at Khrack. Strong and sweet, it definitely has a kick 5/5 This place is a win! Large generous portion at a reasonable price. I'm so glad we stumbled on it. Definitely recommend it and will be back!i

Yelp
I got the beef and noodle soup with soup on the side. The flavor of the soup was good and the beef bone had tender meat. The flavor of the dry noodles on its own was good, but I wish it had more of the sauce because the noodles felt dry so I couldn't eat much of it without dipping it in the soup, which had a different flavor. My friend got the hainan chicken, she thought it was good but has had better before. The interior is nice and service was pretty good. I would come back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
Finally!!! I got a chance to try this place out, since it's been under my radar for awhile now. I got the Phnom Penh House Special Noodle Dry Style and it did not disappoint. From the moment the Phnom Penh House Special arrived at my table, I was captivated by its enticing aroma and vibrant presentation. The dish showcased a beautiful combination of textures and flavors. This is one of Cambodia's signature dishes. If you're seeking a culinary adventure that will transport your taste buds to the vibrant streets of Phnom Penh, I recommend experiencing this exceptional dish and establishment. Cambodian food deserves to be recognized!!!

Yelp
Great place for Phnom Penh noodles!!! I came on a weekday and there was plenty of seating and parking. The portions are generous and they don't skimp on the toppings and meat. I got the noodles with broth on the side. The noodles could've used a little more sauce but eating it with the broth was delicious! Also got a fried round bread at it was soft and warm on the side and had the nice crispy exterior.

Yelp
Was introduced to this place by my gf and have tried this place a couple times now. Both times I got the Mo's special dry version with the big egg noodles and really enjoyed it. The noodles are cooked perfectly Al dente and they provide a ton of meat toppings on top. The soup on the side is tasty and comes with a big bone with meat and cartilage on it. The bone also has some marrow in it and is fun to scoop out. Quick and friendly service and they have an outdoor dining area, which is nice since the indoor dining area is a little small.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant around 1 and had to wait only about 20minute until we were seated. It was quite busy, I definitely should've checked the reviews for the tips about checking in on Yelp ahead of time. The ambiance of the restaurant was not too noisy and plenty of seating available in the restaurant and outside patio. The food came out pretty fast after our order was taken, the staff were great and attentive. The noodle was good with great flavor and the accompanying bone soup was delicious. The Hainan rice was okay very lacking in flavor and seasoning, I was disappointed after eating it.

Yelp
I've been wanting Cambodian food and instead of driving out to Long Beach, they have a closer location off of 605. Service is very fast. They have large portions so you'll definitely end with left overs. The sliced beef and beef ball option tastes the closest to beef pho toppings, so you'll have some crossover.

Yelp
Great portions and delicious food. We ordered 2 of the signatures and the portions were huge. Really hits the spot when you're craving something warm and hearty. Pretty spacious layout and the service was good.

Yelp
Wanted to try some new Asian cuisine in the Cerritos area. RiceString Noodle Shack did not disappoint. I recommend their Hainan Chicken & the Garlic Shrimp Entree. The chicken is moist and juicy. The garlic shrimp sauce is . Love the chunks of garlic. The portion size is quite hefty (not complaining just explaining). Perfect for sharing between 2 people. The service was great~Everyone was keeping busy, being attentive, and checking in on the customers. We didn't even wait long for the food bc the food came out right away; Nice and hot just the way I like it. I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes~

Yelp
I love that they're accommodating to my preferences and they're open when their main one is closed, PHEW. Definitely ask for extra noodle sauce, it needs it as it's very light drizzle and their pickled chili. Service is really good here and their drinks/desserts ARE huge so definitely share. I got the #1, no shrimp extra meat/liver with skinny and thick rice noodles with soup the side. Side soup has a huge bone and meaty- get down and dirty or just togo the leftover bone to eat in the privacy of your own home

Yelp
Always a big fan! The food and the service is amazing. My favorite dish is of course their signature dish, the Phnom Penh Noodle Soup. The hot umami pork broth with a slight touch of fish sauce brings Southeast Asia flavors all in this bowl. So good and tasty!
