Lived near Richmond for 5 years and wish I hadn’t waited so long to try here! Prices are what you’d expect in Richmond. Cafe is lovely and bright and sitting outside on a sunny day was so lovely. I asked if they had any more sandwiches and she made me a fresh one right away, fantastic service. Will definitely be back! Decaf coffee was also great! Reviews rating this place down for no wifi should try spending time reading :)

Google
Good location, although coffee was pretty standard and the pastry was very average, nothing special or flavoursome about that, probably prepackaged and brought in bulk - considering the price you would expect something that tasted fresh and homemade. Nice cafe to fit in on a circular walk of the park and area with decent outdoor seating.

I had a latte and a sausage roll and both were fantastic! I also had an orange juice which they squeezed fresh while you wait and it was amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful to us out-of-towners. Very dog friendly as well, as it seems is the whole city of Richmond. They have nice, comfortable window seating with plenty of pillows.

Absolutely terrible experience. I went to this place with a friend of mine who does not speak English very well. My friend, with her limited English, ordered 3 espressos (not expressing herself as well as she could), the bartender reacted honestly shocked. He seemed almost offended, with an attitude bordering on teasing. He stared at her, smiled and acted as if she had said something incomprehensible, when in fact it was very clear that he intended to order three very simple espresso macchiatos. Being an English speaker (and also a barista), I had no problem understanding her, and so did he. But instead of being polite or helpful, he chose to be sarcastic and disrespectful. We felt extremely uncomfortable and honestly unwelcome. To make matters worse, the coffees were absolutely terrible. I would never return to a place that treats paying customers with such arrogance. I hope the owner or staff realise that tourists bring money and should be treated with the utmost courtesy. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Learn some patience, respect and professionalism, otherwise avoid working with the public.

We popped over from America this week and stumbled upon this delightful bakery -and what an absolute treat it was! The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure our visit wasn't just good, but downright exceptional. The food and drinks? Simply superb. And the café itself? Bursting with charm and character. If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favour and stop by-you won't regret it!

The female staff didnt want to smile/talk/serve us (we are a couple of asian young ladies) while when locals walked in she greeted them in friendly attitude and smiles. Cake is too moist. Portion is alright. Coffee... cannot be rated as a nice cup, starbucks does better than they do. A highly disappointing visit.

Google
This cafe USED to be a gem on Richmond Hill. Haven't been for a while so went today. Such a shame... now... a soulless, cheap rent looking cafe - but charging exorbitant prices. Every piece of food stuffed into a single use plastic bag, even if eating in. All the lovely gifts and candles have been replaced by bulk order cups, packets of napkins etc. Not worth the walk up the hill and definitely not worth the prices. Won't be coming back

Google
Its not was it was before. I have been going to this bakery for a few years. I don’t know if the owners changed but the service is horrible, the food tasteless and the coffee average. Great location

Yelp
For us, it was the coffee, and the ambiance. As visitors to Richmond, we enjoyed visiting with the owner, hearing his story. This was totally a local spot.

Yelp
First and last visit to this cafe. The interior was cosy but the attitude of the staff were absolutely atrocious. It was my first visit and the way they spoke to me were rude just because I had not read the sign on re- ordering my drinks at the back of the store. At the back of the store there was another long queue just to get my drinks ordered. They need a better system for this.

Yelp
On the way to Richmond Park and stumbled upon this place. You can tell this place is frequented by the locals. Charming and rustic interior with an irresistible selection of cakes, pastries, and flat bread pizza. Service was a bit slow but other than that, definitely stop in for a coffee after adventuring through Richmond Park.

Yelp
I have lived in Richmond Hill for the last six months and it wasn't until I found Richmond Hill bakery that I truly had a sense of home. Being a stranger in a strange town I craved a spot where there were delicious smells and conversation and great coffees, a place where a person could sit a little longer without getting the evil eye from staff to move on. Richmond Hill Bakery is all that and more. Management under the creative eye of Jo sets the tone, staff members are young and more mature but all there to serve, to smile, to discuss the day. I met kind people, ate delicious food and no one makes a dry cappuccino like Brandy or Ryan! I am home now and treasure my Richmond Hill Bakery mug as I do the memories of this wonderful coffee shop. Thank you! I will return!

Yelp
This is a very victorian-stylish bakery that just opened up on Richmond hill. It's one of the most charming bakeries I have been to, you could spend hours starring at their breads and cakes, enjoy a nice coffee in the back kitchen and browse through their cute gift shop. Yes - it's a full experience when you go there. The baguettes are warm and crispy, the bread loaves are dense and well shaped, the cakes have style and the presentation is done with taste. A must see. And being French, I know what I'm talking about ;))) Go for an early run along the river and then stack up a nice breakfast at this bakery. A perfect Saturday morning guaranteed :)

Yelp
Surprised this place only has two reviews, as its on a popular high street and was packed on the Sunday afternoon I was there! Its a very laid-back cafe-cum-bakery-cum-shop. There's a range of savoury and sweet options for breakfast and lunch, although by the time I went at 3pm some of the savoury and breakfast items had sold out. I had the brownie cheesecake - massive slice for £3ish and was so yummy. Not sugary sweet at all. My latte was decent. Its a very kid-friendly cafe, so its not the quietest in the world but if I'm in the area again I would definitely go back.

Yelp
made a quick stop here on our way to the airport and we kinda didn't wanna leave! they have an honest system here so you can pay after you order or when you're done. the bakery and coffee is split into two parts in the cafe. you order your pastry first then your coffee or vice versa, gives you a chance to explore every aspect of this cute little cafe. they also sell organic beauty products. overall a very nice ambiance and i love their coffee! do try their almond croissant and carrot cake, just enough sweet to keep you wanting more!

Yelp
Had some lunch and a coffee here today, happened upon it whilst cycling back from Richmond park. Looked nice so thought why not! Glad I did as the food was very nice, and as we had had a cycle felt we could have a chocolate brownie, which is something that always looks so good wherever you go but usually doesn't live up to your expectations! But luckily it did this time! Very nice brownie! Coffee was not bad either, not a huge amount of choice, just the standard espresso type coffees but the quality was good. Price wise came to less then I was expecting too considering the quality so defiantly recommend! My only criticism was you had to pay for your coffee at one counter then go to another counter and tell them your order again for them to make it, seemed somewhat of a faff... But that was the only slightly annoying thing!

Yelp
A cute, neighbourhood spot, filled with beautiful sweet and savoury baked goods. Nothing compared to what you will get in France, but very tasty treats. Richmond Hill Bakery is around the corner from us, so we have a had a few different tarts, cakes, croissants and baguettes, but eventually stopped popping in for pastries due to the demeanour of the staff. Not a single nice experience. Expect delicious baked goods, but also expect to be ignored or shoved around so the staff can stock the store while making it clear that your patronage is of no concern to them. Why clean a dirty table when you can chat to your coworkers about your weekend instead?

Yelp
Shame about this place as it's a good location but the staff were rude and amatuerish on the 2 occasions that we visited. Coffee is not great either but it's full of mothers and prams so seems to be popular for that reason. Orange Pekoe in Barnes seems to be the role model for this type of coffee/gift shop venture. Great, knowledgeable staff and high quality food and drink. Hopefully they'll open a branch in Richmond. Am taking my business elsewhere as a local business should know how to treat their customers.

Yelp
The food is delicious (we particularly love the almond croissants) although pricey. We visit around once every couple of months as a treat but I am constantly amazed by just how rude and miserable the staff are. The food is good enough to tempt me to buy something and take it away but I wouldn't want to eat in there as a result of the staff.

Yelp
The quality and range of food at Richmond Hill Bakery is very good. We visit 3-4 times a week and the bread and cakes never fail to impress. Not cheap but worth it, although some of the cakes are unquestionably overpriced. However, the real let down is the staff. Aloof, occasionally rude and with no interest in customers. A real shame. Serving great food clearly means the staff don't feel they need try, so they don't. Should be much better and a more enjoyable experience but the product is worth trying, just don't expect a friendly welcome.

Yelp
Small kitchen where they prepare coffee at back of shop is very dirty. Filthy skirting boards. Handling (filthy) cash and then handling and preparing food with same hands without gloves or anything that stops transmission of dirt and infection. Floors are dirty..especially in the small 'kitchen'. Aprons of staff serving are very dirty. There are cloths lying around that are dirty and breeding germs. Food is out in the open allowing people to cough and sneeze over then..not to mention the airborne infections that are transmitted as a result of food being exposed immediately next to where many people each day come in. Window in 'kitchen' is open - allowing in infection from sewer pipes in very close proximity. Extractor fans are best to remove some airborne infection -- providing the filter is clean and works. There was no evidence of extractors other than an air conditioning 'extractor' in the main shop and this was not working. Food on offer in general is not a healthy selection either. They take cash. Where do they spend their cash? They are certainly not spending it on what has been up until now an apparently thriving business. The shop is very below healthy standards and is certainly not recommended to anyone.
