The 12 Best Restaurants in Casablanca, Morocco - Eater

"You’ve probably heard of Rick’s Cafe, Humphrey Bogart’s gambling parlor in the film Casablanca. The restaurant really does exist, though it only opened in 2004 as homage to the fictional version. Despite the restaurant’s youth, it will still transport you back in time with its grand interior and menu of classic international dishes like black pepper filet mignon or sea bass with saffron rice. The restaurant also has a full bar menu with cocktails. Delivery and takeaway available. [$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

Admittedly, I was a bit undecided if we were going to book for an evening at this nostalgic Casablanca cinephile's haunt, however, I am super delighted we did. The decor was tasteful and not overdone, the service was courteous and attentive and entertained us with their comical humor. We enjoyed delicious starters and entrées with hearty portions, so much so, that we didn't have room for dessert. We enjoyed the Moroccan Volubulis red wine along with the piano renditions of old and modern songs. A very enjoyable evening. Make sure you get a quick look at the upstairs lounge with it's nostalgic photos of Casablanca and sit at the bar after your meal for the full experience. We had the later time-slot, so it was lovely to not have to shift off our table for the second sitting.

Food was 😋 delicious. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Plus looked very smart. Entertainment at 8pm was all the best most memorable songs. A real treat. 😊 Booking....an absolute must as it is always fully booked!! Simple to do ...email them and do email confirmation 24 hrs before you go. You don't want to miss out!

Iconic restaurant in Casablanca… you should stop in for a cocktail and the live Jazz. We didn’t eat, but the cocktails were good and the service was on point for a Monday evening. Watch the movie prior to stopping by so you can see the details, overall a fun experience!

This is definitely a to - go place if you’re a movie buff and wanna get an experience of the classics. The vibe was amazing. But the staff was quite rude. Despite having a bookings, were allotted a corner table with zero view. We were 3 of us and they said the table in the ground floor was for 4 people but later we saw that the same table was allotted to 3. They also went out of their way to create spaces and tables at some corners withgood view for few people out of nowhere. I felt there was a some sort of discrimination based on how you dress up . We just went after Hamam and it was our last day of the trip , so we were quite exhausted and weren’t quite dressed up as went post Hamam , but didn’t want to miss out on the experience , hence went. But the staff was quite judgmental it seems. Then we ordered 3 drinks, a main course and desert worth 800 MAD but the waiter told us it is not sufficient order and we need to order more if we want to sit on that table It was quite disappointing and rude as we already had evening snack and weren’t very hungry but we still ordered 3 drinks, a main course and a desert all worth 800 MAD . Despite that, he was quite rude and at the same time was treating other table people quite differently. Went there for experience but Didn’t have a good experience in general. The food and drinks no doubt were good. We ordered risotto, mimosa , whiskey sour and gin and with that rice pudding . Everything was good in taste. It was just the behavior of the staff which was unexpectedly rude and unwelcoming.

I know the idea is totally kitschy but it’s actually good food and a great ambiance. I was shocked there’s no gambling though. It’s worth going. Do agree some people need to dress it up a bit!

probably the best ribeye i’ve had. i went with my two friends and we ended up getting a table right in front of the musicians, it was amazing! the service was great, had a drink, ribeye for two, and dessert for 405 dirhams. it was a great time, well worth it!

Absolutely brilliant evening spent at Rick's Cafe! We booked for the 6:30pm seating and were seated promptly. The food was incredible and the setting and service was fabulous. We usually like to eat early however as we were nearing the end of our main courses the live music started so if I was to return I would book the 8:30pm seating so as to fully enjoy the music and ambience created by the incredible lighting and setting. Two three course meals including a fillet steak, two mojitos and two bottles of water in a beautiful setting with wonderful friendly staff all for 1180.00dhm (less than £118). I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Casablanca!!

Stepping into Rick’s Café (@rickscafe_casablanca) truly feels like walking into a classic film. Inspired by the iconic movie Casablanca, this legendary spot is set inside a beautifully restored mansion right next to the old Medina—think vintage charm, moody lighting, live piano, and cinematic vibes all around. We started with a refreshing citrus mocktail while soaking in the ambiance. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and every detail feels intentional. The highlight? Rick’s famous cheesecake—light, creamy, and hands-down the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. Seriously unforgettable. If you’re in Casablanca, don’t skip this spot. It’s more than a restaurant—it’s an experience.
