Yelp
I've been coming here for more than a quarter century; I thought I'd already reviewed at some point but I guess not, so apologies for the extremely late review. I also thought they had foundered mid-pandemic, but I'm thrilled to be wrong about that! Based on this cascade of mistakes a reader could be forgiven for questioning the veracity of this review by now, but I'll forge ahead nonetheless for the remaining three readers.
Some details:
The Midwest is amazing and quite hefty, so be prepared to put away a pork chop, two eggs, two potato pancakes with a bit of cheese, and a couple dollops of apple sauce and sour cream. Oh and two slices of tomato turn it into a salad, so enjoy guilt-free.
Doc's Delight is another great combo if you're looking for something sweeter (yes, Your Honor, guilty as charged). It's the classic waffle, two eggs, and two sausages, with bonus points awarded for real maple syrup by default (sorry to disappoint the corn syrup enthusiasts out there). The waffle is not Belgian, and strikes a perfect balance between fluffy and chewy.
The coffee is solid, and service is polite and punctual. Also changed at some point in the last few years: you have to order at the counter before being seated.
