"Opening December 14 in Plano, Hot Chicks already has a fiery operation in Fort Worth. The small chain boasts Halal, dairy-free and peanut-free hot chicken, in a range of heat levels and configurations from tenders to sandwiches to tacos. Went to Ricky’s for lunch and was very impressed by the hot chicken and the prices. The restaurant feels pretty spartan, so you can tell the focus is on the food. I ordered the medium and to me it was a great combo of heat and flavor. Prices are very fair and it is the rare place you can get a combo for under $10.

We visited Ricky’s Restaurant for dinner yesterday. The food was flavorful, though a bit too oily for our preference. The restaurant was not very busy which allowed for quick service. However, the cleanliness could use some improvement as the tables and chairs felt greasy. On a positive note, the portion sizes were generous and the prices quite reasonable. Overall, Ricky’s is a decent option for an occasional dinner, especially if you are looking for value and quick service. However, due to the heavy use of oil it may not be ideal for frequent visits.

Finally stopped by this place after hearing many rumors and talkings about it. It was good. The chicken breast on the sandwich didn't seem to be marinated at all, like it was very "chewy" and a bit dry..but the fries were banging!! I went with the hot level spice and quite frankly it wasn't that spicy so if I ever do go back I will try the next level up. But the atmosphere was cool lunch vibes and the customer service was on point. And the price wasn't bad either.

Google
Very bland reception. ( What can I get you?) is what he said. Ordered wing combo. Too much breading for my liking. Spice level was good. I ordered XHot. Too greasy. Could not get past one wing of the meal as the oil flavor is over powering. Fries over seasoned. Oh and remember to put napkins in your bag. As the person giving you the food does not.

Google
The dining experience was satisfactory; however, comparisons to Dave's Hot Chicken are inevitable, as both establishments offer comparable quality. I would personally rate Birds Nest slightly higher; however, the pricing may be excessive for the standard offerings. Furthermore, I deduct one star from any fast-food establishment that suggests an 18% gratuity minimum, a practice I find unreasonable.

I recently visited Ricky Hot Chicken in Plano and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The location is pretty great, and I appreciate that the chicken is halal. I personally had the Bird's Nest with mild seasoning paired with a Dr. Pepper. The wait time wasn’t very long, and the food came out hot and fresh, which was fantastic. However, I have to give it 4 stars because everything in the restaurant is very sticky. I understand that having kids coming in and out all the time probably contributes to this, but it did affect the overall dining experience. Despite that, I'd still recommend Ricky Hot Chicken for a tasty meal.

First tried Ricky’s at the Richardson location, it was amazing! This new Plano location is just as good, but better because it’s closer to home. Food is always fresh and delicious! I love the spice levels! Have been to this location multiple times, never disappoints! Customer service is A+, the one time there was an issue with my order they fixed it immediately and went above & beyond to make sure I left happy. My favorite place for Hot Chicken!!!

UPDATE: After the owner Ricky saw my review, he personally reached out and refunded us for our meal and gave us a coupon to try them out again for free. He sincerely apologized for the dry chicken and said they recently had a supplier issue that caused the problem but are working to resolve it quickly. We will happily give this place another go because everything else about the meal was amazing! Fantastic customer service ✨ ORIGINAL REVIEW: No, I am not a negative nelly or Karen… I love trying new food places and was excited to give this place a try, especially considering the high ratings!! The prices were good for a chicken place (side and drink with sandwich for $12). Everything about the meal was delicious…..EXCEPT the chicken itself 😭 unfortunately my husband and I both had the driest, hardest pieces of fried chicken breast in our sandwiches. The first bite and both of us were disappointed. I continued to nibble on the sandwich (the bun, slaw, sauce and pickles were great) and my hockey puck chicken ended up just falling out of the breading 🤦🏼‍♀️ We may have just gotten a bad batch or something… because it seems everyone else had a great experience! Everything else about the food was great (especially fries and fireballs, which are fried cheese curds). However I do wish they would at least give you one cup of sauce for the fries and fireballs but you have to pay extra for any sauces.

Yelp
THE GOOD: The chicken is DELICIOUS!!! It comes hot and crispy! I think the chicken is spicy... even the mild, but I am a wimp with hot spice. I now get the 'no spice' and it still has flavor. The meals come with the chicken, side and drink. Sides are yummy. THE IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITY: The place has seating but it's a little messy. Tables are sticky and had to wipe down the table myself. I still give this 5-stars because the food is yummy & service was very good . (That's what I was evaluating this review on.)

Yelp
The service was friendly and fast. However, I think the speed is what led to the other issues. The chicken didn't have much flavor besides the spice on the outside. And it was chewy, tough, and rubbery. The comeback sauce was ok. There was a lot of food though. I only ate half but not sure if that was because of the quality or how much food it was. The Mac and cheese had good flavor and was cheesy. The disappointment here was that is was basically room temperature.

Yelp
I have heard so many things about Rickys fried chicken but unfortunately that wsnt the same for me. Service was great, I loved the ambiance and seating inside. But the oil they used that day was not fresh, the chicken tasted old and not fresh, my fries were so greasy from that nasty tasting oil. For some reason my wings tasted sweet, I hate sweet chicken if it isnt barbecue. I don't know what happened but after eating some of the chicken and fries I became so ill.... oh em gee! TMI: My stomach was so upset from the oil it was like I had a case of food poisoning. so I will not be back

Yelp
Been awhile since I've been here. How is it still 10 bucks for a sando with fires and soda? That said i spent waaaymore because i got the chicken and waffles and have to, have to, have to get fireballs! As good as always. No complaints. Great staff, lots of seating and awesome food. You can't go worng here if you're in the market for hot chicken!
google avatar

Brandi A.

Yelp
This place is on point every visit. The food is fresh, it never smells like old oil or stinky even with all the fried food selections. The open air kitchen is always organized and clean. Staff has a smile and willing to make your experience better. The only challenge we've had here is trying to put out the heat on some of our mouths and the slip and slide that is the bathroom! Mind your step.... Check out either Ricky's location, but this one has better seating options and closer to home for us to make the trek more often.... Also, don't sleep on those fireballs, they are amazing.

Yelp
Food was really good! I'd been to the Richardson location before, and happy this location is closer to home. We went one evening for dinner. When we arrived, there were a few people there but not too busy. By the time we finished, more people were flowing in. We ordered at the counter with the help of the worker some the rest of my family hadn't been there before. After ordering, we got our drinks and found a table. Food arrived shortly afterwards. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the birds nest and it was tasty. My hubby loved that there we tv's inside and he could watch some football games. He'd definitely go back to watch games. Overall, good visit.

Yelp
Oh my lord, I'm so happy this location opened up. The Richardson one is always so packed and this place has ample space to eat. The portions are slightly smaller here than Richardson but the taste is still on par. This is hands down the best place to eat for Tennessee Hot Chicken. The chicken is wonderfully tender and has a delightful crispy exterior. Always always get the Bird's Nest here. It's a magical bed of hot chicken topped with a generous portion of fries, and coleslaw. The comeback sauce drizzled on top of it just makes a wonderful blend of savory flavors packed with heat. They have a self serve station too. In the unlikely event you have leftovers, you can hop over and pack up your food to go.

Yelp
Ricky's has a rustic vibe that's both cozy and inviting. I swung by for a quick lunch on Friday. There's a good mix of small booths and larger tables, making it a flexible spot for any group size. The menu is simple and straightforward: pick your entrée, choose your spice level, and add sides if you want. I went for three mild jumbo tenders with a side of mac and cheese. The tenders arrived quickly and were huge, hot from the fryer with a crunchy, well-seasoned breading that really stood out. The meat was tender and juicy--definitely the highlight of the meal. The mac and cheese was decent but pretty basic, nothing that really impressed. One interesting aspect was the self-service model; you grab your utensils and boxes behind you when you pick up your food and get your own drinks, which adds to the casual vibe. Overall, Tender Haven is a solid option for comfort food in a laid-back setting. The service was fast, and while the sides could use a little work, the jumbo tenders are worth the visit.

Yelp
I like spicy food and have never tried Nashville hot chicken. So today when I took a break from working, I decided to get to try Ricky's. From the time I walked in the door I was greeted by pleasant staff. My order was prepared fresh and quickly. The wings were huge, flavorful and well seasoned. I got the mild with ranch and comeback sauce. For my side I got the mac & cheese, which is some of the best restaurant mac & cheese I've had. This place is a quick food restaurant but without a drive-thru. The decor is simplistic with wood and metal seating. I will be back to try all of the heat levels that I can stand and the other sides. They ran out of banana pudding so I was disappointed, so I'll definitely have to come back.

Yelp
With the intern and our thing is Hot Chicken. This has officially dethroned Houston Hot, the intern described it as "I feel like I went thro all the phases of grief" , he is 15, lmao. The levels of flavor is amazing. I finished my SANDO with just breading and slaw and still wanted more. In "D" I have had Hattie's , Mikes, and Babes here and this is a better bite of chicken. Service is quick and attentive. The tables are nice PLUS there are outlets all along the booth seating, NICE. I could keep going on with all kinds of superlatives, but I'm gonna order some chicken to go now and take a nap. Late night: the Sando was still great and NOT mushy after being on a counter for a few hours. The hotel room doesn't have a Microwave. PART TWO (the next day): Gosh darn right we came back the next day!!! We both had the Chicken n Waffles. nom-nom-nom-nom-nom!! The "crunch" of the bird was the most impressive. never got soggy during the meal. The waffles and syrup were good as well. I discovered how hot is hot based on the lack of slaw in the bite and I was sweating (could've been the prior nights activities, maybe). I prolly would do this with the tenders so it is easier to eat.

Yelp
The best hot chicken I have had in Dallas so far. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 5/5 - Pretty good sized restaurant. Good for mid sized groups. Staff - 5/5 - Friendly. Will provide heat recommendations Food/Drink - Ordered the following: Tenders - 5/5 - I recommend the Hot flavor if you like heat, but do not want to burn your throat off. I have had A-Bomb, and it is bad going in and out both ways haha. The Sando - 5/5 - Great sandwich. Highly recommend. Again, go for Hot for heat lovers. Vinegar Slaw - 5/5 - Get this to cut the heat. Mac n Cheese - 4/5 - Pretty good. A must get when eating hot chicken. Overall, this is my favorite go-to for Nash Hot Chicken in Dallas. I go for just the tenders and sandwich, but maybe one day I will try the Leg & Thigh combo. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Everytime I see someone's post of Nashville Hot Chicken,I drool. The whole hot chicken thang was cooking along until it took the country. Still,it was probably 2 years after everyone else had sampled it that I chimed in. Ricky's is my 3rd Nashville Hot Chicken place to try over the last few years. It seems hot chicken places are multiplying faster than hamburger and BBQ joints. The other day Ricky's pooped up on my Yelponator as I was scouting about. I marked it to come back to at an opportune time. That would be today. I had previewed the menu and knew what I wanted. The Sando! I thought,if mine looks anything like the promotional pics and Yelp post,I'll be happy. It's hard to believe they have split hours. 11-2 and 4-9. I almost never see that in casual dinning. But,doesn't matter. What does matter is the food. Typical counter order, point of sale, call your name ,place. Design vibe is my pet peve. Black ceiling, funky layout, cheap fixtures. However, that still gets a pass if the grub is knock your socks off right? The Sando at medium heat was good. Not eyes rolling back good but good. The crinkle fries also good at medium heat. Overall my experience was unexciting. I would go again but not seek it out. A lot of the overhead lights were out as if to save money? The environment needs heavy work. If youre into scratching as many Nashville hots off your list as possible,go. If you're in the area go. It's not bad just not great

Yelp
Service- super friendly staff, very attentive and friendly. Ambiance- for a Sunday morning at 11:30 there were a decent number of diners but the floors and tables need some cleaning. Food- hubby ordered the Sando-hot and I ordered the birds nest-medium and a side of Mac and cheese. The food came with drinks and the total was right under $30. We did not order extra sauce lol. I wish places would include the price of sauce in their food . The birds nest had hot chicken pieces with slaw and fries. They put a good amount of their comeback sauce over the top. The comeback sauce had a sweet flavor which paired perfectly with the hot chicken. It was a flavor combustion of goodness. My husband had the Sandi and enjoyed every bit. I didn't get to try it so I feel that review speaks for itself. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious but I would have expected more experimentation of flavor in their Mac and cheese like we had in our meals. Overall this is a solid 4/5. We would absolutely come back.

Yelp
I recently visited Ricky's Hot Chicken and was blown away by the food once again. The chicken was just as good as the one in Richardson, if not better. The interior provided a comfortable setting to sit down and enjoy the food. The ambiance gave off a cool bar vibe, adding to the overall experience. I highly recommend Ricky's Hot Chicken for a mouthwatering and enjoyable dining experience ands will be back I also get medium hot. Anything more for me is too much. And don't forget to add the sauce
google avatar

Yelp
I had the tenders combo. They were large pieces of white chicken breast with a fried crust on them. They douse them with a sauce so it's not too oily. Xhot is really hot and they have a level above this! The fries are crinkled with a hot spice on them. Very good.

Laney M.

Yelp
Our Ricky's experience was top-notch from start to finish. I loved the affordable combo prices and the huge portions. I had the Bird's Nest, which is a unique offering where you get all the components of a hot chicken meal on a bed of fries, which were crispy & well seasoned. The chicken itself was super tender. I loved the banana pudding as well. To top it all off, they gave my dad a discount on his meal for Father's Day. Our family will be back soon!
google avatar

Alden C.

Yelp
Masterpiece everytime, I usually go during their lunch deal on Mondays. I've gotten so much here, the sandwich, birds nest, 3 tenders. All perfect everytime , hot is just right too a good amount of sniffles. Food comes out quick too so you can go right to scarfing it down. 5 stars all day everyday.
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
Hands down our favorite hot chicken! The chicken is always super moist regardless of how spicy you prefer it! if you can handle your heat they have two more secret spice levels you can upgrade too! but it's SUPER spicy! Make sure you get some mac and cheese to cool the fire! There's plenty of seating here but it does get full fast due to the popularity!

Yelp
I've tried Ricky's Hot Chicken once in Richardson about 4 years ago and I really liked it. I remember seeing my friend eating Dave's Hot Chicken which I've never tried, but she liked that chain. I've been recommending her Ricky's Hot Chicken for the longest time and I finally got them to tried it. My friend told me between the two, Dave's Hot Chicken is less flavorful and boring while eating it half way. Whereas Ricky's Hot Chicken keeps you on your toes. Overall Food (4.7/5): Fireballs (4/5): Mozzarella cheese curds level Hot was very flavorful, but more on the mild side of spice. Shake Fries (5/5): These are crinkled fries, cooked well done-very crispy, flavorful, extremely good. It was the highlight of the meal, the whole family loved it. Stayed warm the whole time, never got soggy. Nuggets (4.3/5): We tried both hot and X-Hot. High quality chicken was used. Hot - When you first try it, the heats hit you, but dies down slowly which is nice. It's spicy and still enjoyable. It's definitely a spice you can tolerate if you really spicy foods. X-Hot - The heat hits you instantly and lingers for a long period of time. 1/2 a bite was enough for me and my friend. Whereas, our other friend loved it. Next time, we will get a level in between Hot and X-Hot. Sauce altogether (4/5): Comeback sauce (4.4/5): the cashier described it as it was like Cane's sauce, but godly. It's less peppery and a little more sweet than Cane's sauce. Ranch (3.5/5): The ranch is mediocre, standard, nothing special. It doesn't have much of a ranch flavor that you're typically used to, but it does have a more in-house feel to it. Service (5/5): Our cashier KP and his coworker were very helpful and patient. We came in with the idea of individual entrees, but I saw Game Time meal and I thought it was a great deal and the other cashier confirmed it. Me and my friend are indecisive, but we both really appreciated their hospitality. There guidance helped us come down to a decision quickly. Our big order was also ready within less than 10 minutes! Ambiance (5/5): We got it to go, but the ambiance was very nice and homey. My friend is a huge homebody, but she told me she would love to eat inside one day which says a lot. It's just a nice and casual area, has a very friendly vibe. We went on a Sunday night and it was busy, but not over the top busy.

Yelp
Ricky's Hot Chicken is a delicious chicken sandwich place. The first time I visited, I tried the hottest sandwich, the "A-bomb." This sandwich is the spiciest hot chicken I ever had, and it was so delicious! *Now, disclaimer: this is not for the light spice eaters, and you might experience extreme heart palpitations and shortness of breath.* I am a lover of very spicy food. I did experience throat burning, but I just kept eating. The second time here, I got the second most spicy, the "Xhot." This wasn't hot for me at all, so I was a little disappointed. The perfectly fried crinkled cut fries are seasoned heavily with spices. I definitely will be back to eat Ricky's A-bomb sandwich again.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Came back as I said in my original review and ordered their hottest option, the A-Bomb. The heat level on this one, and at Ricky's in general, is no joke and I don't say that lightly, as I have a very high heat tolerance. If you want a place that serves real heat, this is your place. A-bomb basically f-ed me up. I was a sweaty mess but so happy at the same time. I ate 2 tenders (out of 3 large tenders) before I tapped out. Unfortunately (fortunately for my stomach lining) I got full after 2 tenders, because they were so big. I realized that I probably wouldn't enjoy eating the leftover tender later on, so I threw it away, which I normally hate doing. Fried pickles were delicious. Highly recommend if you like pickles. Love the option to sub out the fries and/or the drink in the combo, for something else. My only complaints are that the chicken tenders, although big, were not juicy this time, but rather quite dry...and the pink dipping sauce needs more seasoning; it tasted like straight up mayo and not much else. Other than that, it was overall pretty good meal. I recommend this place if you're in the mood for some Nashville hot chicken. They do it well and the customer service is good too.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Hands down the best!! We were looking for a hot chicken place. Saw the reviews and decided to try today. It did not disappoint!! Portions are amazing, food is exceptional. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Cameron M.

Yelp
Need some good Nashville style hot chicken in your life? Then you need to get in here! Stopped in after seeing all the positive reviews and had a great time. Enjoyed the tenders and waffles as well as the nugget flight. I think the whole idea of the nugget flight is awesome. You get to try every level of spice with minimal commitment. I will warn you though, they ARE NOT PLAYING when it comes to the last two levels. It will burn and burn for quite a while! The tenders were excellent and they even use a really nice style of bread under them to give you a treat when you are done. I would love to have the waffles a bit crispier, but the flavor was on point. Comeback sauce was great and an excellent compliment to the meal while the fries were served nice and hot. Great staff and a nice and clean environment.

Marc G.

Yelp
I read the recent article in the Dallas Observer stating Ricky's hot chicken sandwich being their top ranking, so i had to give them a try for the first time. The service was friendly and helpful and they let me know that the chicken sandwich ("Sando") takes about 10 minutes to prepare. The portions were fine, but I was disappointed in the sandwich as it was literally swimming in oil and was a greasy mess to eat. I ordered "medium" since this was my first time here, so the heat was not in any way a factor, but my stomach almost immediately began feeling queasy shortly after I ate there and I know that had to do with all the grease and nothing to do with the spiciness of the sandwich. Within a couple of hours my stomach got progressively worse and I had a bout of diarrhea that confirmed all the grease definitely did not agree with me. I won't be back and I am not looking for any refund or response from this business.

Yelp
I stopped in here with a friend after a long day of moving- wanted to try something new (I had been to Dave's a few times in the past weeks). The place was PACKED but line moved super quick! If it wasn't so busy it would be a nice spot to sit down The menu has a good number of options and super reasonable priced for what you get! Overall, enjoyed the food, I got the "hot" spice level and felt this was perfect! Fries were perfectly crispy and enjoyed their sauce too! I will say, the breading was falling off the chicken which made me feel like it wasn't quite as fresh but taste was still good Would come back again

Sabha P.

Yelp
One of the best hot chicken place in dallas. Fast service, clean place. Causal ambience. Convenient parking.
google avatar

Michaela M.

Yelp
This place was honestly better than I expected. The fries we super crispy and flavorful. The chicken was crispy as well. If I'm comparing it to Dave's hot chicken this place is way better. I like the sauce as well.
google avatar

Jay O.

Yelp
If you want hot chicken, Ricky's is the place to go. It's so good and their signature sauce is a must. Also their medium spice level is already super spicy so beware! I wish they had something in between mild and medium spice level though. One thing that I wish was different is the 2 pieces of pickles per plate. It's not a deal-breaker but just seems a little stingy about them when other places offer a lot more.

Shep B.

Yelp
Delicious food!!! We came during when they were closed, and when we tried to doors they were locked (obviously). We were disappointed, but as we were standing outside trying to find somewhere else to eat, one of the employees opened the door for us. We were unsure about coming in, but she was adamant that it was okay and was very very sweet. We got some popcorn chicken with the side of fries and bread and a drink (all for only $10??) This is the nicest Ricky's hot chicken i've been to. Very big on the inside and very clean. will be returning very soon!
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Needed a quick lunch. Delicious spicy chicken sandwich. The Mac and cheese was good but I'd probably try fries next time.
google avatar

Mel N.

Yelp
This has to be my favorite hot chicken place in the area. I was in a phase where I was trying different hot chicken places and liked this the best. Good location for them to open right off 121. Came on a weeknight night and it was busier than expected since It's more of a fast casual place. Get in line to order and they call your name. Got the leg quarter with the medium spice (around $10). Comes with a drink and a side. Got the cole slaw. The medium was spicy!! I should've gotten the mild. The cole slaw portion was a little small so wish I got the fries. It helped cool down the spiciness though. they have sauces that are extra. I would come back again but hot chicken isn't something I eat regularly anymore.
google avatar

Randy T.

Yelp
Better than the next three fast service chicken places!! This was a casual stop but I'll be back. Clean, and staff was helpful and they were spot on with the chicken. It was as hot as they warned but I loved every bite.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
It is a tragedy but i keep forgetting that the north plano location opened closer to my house. I usually remember on Tuesday or Wednesday when they are closed but finally got my act together and got over there. The Plano location is much larger so great to stay and sit even if they are super busy which is most of the time. I love both the birds nest and the regular sand which. I usually go with Medium heat to make sure i don't die since I'm a light weight but you for sure can go burn your lips off to your hearts connect. I suggest everyone got get the best hot chicken in town.
google avatar

Lydia O.

Yelp
While I was super excited to hear that a Ricky's near me was opening, I definitely wanted to manage my expectations because I know sometimes when local restaurants open additional locations, they don't come close to the original. Thankfully this absolutely is NOT the case here!! Everything is just as incredible as it is in Richardson. I got the Bird's Nest at the medium spice level (my go to) and it was amazing!! SO fresh, and so well seasoned!! The employees are just as kind/chill as they are at the Richardson location. Additionally, if you would like to dine in, there is a lot of indoor seating, as well as a patio area!! As always 10/10 - I will totally be back again!!
google avatar

Sunny C.

Yelp
Great ambiance with friendly staff! We got the sando (xhot) and birds nest (medium). The xhot which is 6 times hotter than habanero was NO JOKE. It really burned but also so good. The crispiness and juiciness of the chicken was top notch. Can't wait to try their wings next time!
google avatar

Jordana S.

Yelp
Ricky's is always a favorite in our house! This time when we went, Timothy gave a great suggestion to get the birdsnest when I was feeling indecisive - I'm so glad I did! It was SO good. My husband got the jumbo tenders and fireballs - everything came out quickly and the staff were really great! They went above and beyond. It wasn't too crowded, but this location has a good amount of seating so it wouldn't have mattered if it was! I 100% any location of Ricky's Hot Chicken, but this is one of our favorites.
google avatar

Kerri S.

Yelp
Been coming here for about a year now and consistently get a great meal each time. Service has also been amazing. Birds nest is my favorite.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
I got the xtra hot chicken wings. These are full size wings mind you! They had me sample the seasoning before eating and I will admit the xtra hit was very hot and I consider myself someone who can take the heat. However, it was not overwhelming and it had a great taste as well. What I did not finish I brought home and reheated in the air fryer and it was just as good. Their fried pickles were excellent as well. Great place!
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Amazing Nashville hot chicken just like the Richardson location!! Both times I came to this location I got the hot tenders and it was great. Spicy and flavorful but not unbearable, crispy breading and juicy chicken. The tenders are pretty big so I'm always full after the standard three. Service is usually pretty fast. There's a lot of seating at this location which is nice compared to the Richardson location. I'll definitely come back for more!! Best chicken ever.

Yelp
Consistent, fast, lots of seating, really good! It's just as good as the Richardson location but has lots of seating, which is a plus! The location is closer to me, so I love that too! Every item on here is really good, and my favorite thing is the jumbo tenders. The spice level is actually spicy! If you like spicy and good with spicy stuff, I would do hot. I personally like medium because it has a nice flavor that's not just spice. Slightly sweet savory, and you can taste the breading better too. Service is fast and good as always! Everything is very consistent here!

Yelp
The cashier was helpful showing photos of items on our first visit. We had the hot chicken sandwich and a mild bird's nest. Both were good!

Yelp
How long has Ricky's been around? That's how long I've been enjoying their food. Haven't been to the Arlington one, but the Richardson one was home until plano opened. *heart eyes* first of all, it was so nice to sit down and eat there instead of driving 1 hour to get home and enjoy it on my couch lol. The food taste exactly the same and I am so excited to go back already. We were super nervous to go during their soft opening but it was totally manageable- it was steady and I am all for that. Best NHC in the DFW!!!!

Yelp
Great chicken! The tenders and wings are huge and had lots of flavor. Hot is hot! Crinkle cut fries were crispy, mac and cheese was a miss for us, but the banana pudding was delish!! Service was excellent. We had several orders and they marked each container so we knew what was what. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
No question, this is THE BEST hot chicken in DFW. Ricky's is so good. Start with the sando but my favorite is the birds nest. Choose your heat. Medium is spicey but not too hot. Hot and above, I wish you the best. The new location in Plano is great with lots of seating and a nice patio. Plenty of TVs too.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! We chose mild spice for our heat and it had a good zing and flavor! Next time we'll try medium heat!

Yelp
Phenomenal service from the cashier to the cook. I had the Sando and my friend had a wing and tenders with the seasoned fries. Everything was fresh, tasty and filling. I only got a pic of my sandwich bc my friend tore their food up b4 I could get a pic. I at least got a bite of their food and a couple fries. U can't eat just one!!! Lip smacking finger licking good for sure!!! We work down the street, so we'll be back more than once!!

Yelp
Best Nashville chicken within the DFW area. Awesome chicken sandwich, great birds nest, and awesome sides to go right down.

Yelp
This is the best "hot chicken" in the business. I'm biased because my go to is the Bird's Nest and the Ricky's Bird's Nest is incomparable. The food always comes out hot and fresh and the workers there are friendly and helpful. I wish the place was a little more well kept as far as getting your plastic ware, sweet'n'low, et. al, but they just be me holding them to a high standard that the Richardson location set. I refuse to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Yelp
The chicken is delicious!!! My go to is The nest! Chicken over a bed of fries. The flavor is spot on!! Definitely spicy!
